Klaus-Dieter Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 (edited) Hello everybody! Here's the ninth part of my "Wild West minifig show": Cowboys (and bandits?) These are some typical WW cowboys (and bandits?). The two printed torsos (the two minifigs on the right side wear) were designed by apache/tyger. Comments are welcome! Athos Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 The tan torso looks good. It might be slightly too modern, but it works. I like how it looks with the black bandana. The red pants with the red shirt doesn't do it for me. Looks too much like long underwear. The torso decals look good too, even if I don't approve. Steve Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Thank you very much for your nice comment, Athos! Klaus-Dieter Quote
MoWo Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I think te same about the long underwear but else it is WILD Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Thank you very much for your nice comment, MoWo! I chose the red pants because I wanted to define this minifig in contrast to the official bandit minifigure. Do you think that a black pant would look better? By the way: Welcome to Eurobricks, MoWo! Nice to see that we're getting many new members who are interested in Western! Klaus-Dieter Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 KD: of all your fig sets so far, this is my favorite. Overall, they have a nice blend of colors and look as if they could be classic Lego WW figs. The guy in the red looks likes he's wearing Long Johns . My only question is why did you go with all standard smiling faces (not to say they don't work)? Quote
Donut Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 These custom torsos look great, I especially like the second one from the right (he's unarmed! ). I hope he didn't leave it at home, I heard there was going to be a shootout in front of the saloon at noon. Quote
Athos Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 What about dark blue, tan or brown pants, in lieu of the red? Steve Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 (edited) Thank you very much for your nice comments, TheBrickster and Donut! My only question is why did you go with all standard smiling faces (not to say they don't work)? First of all: I really like the classic faces - they are my favourite ones among all faces TLG has ever produced. I chose them because I wanted to design these minifigs as some "normal" young cowboys. Consequently I wanted only to give them the old classis faces since there shouldn't be something very specific with their faces. (By the way: The minifig on the right side doesn't have this classic face. He wears a face from the soldiers with grey beart. ) What about dark blue, tan or brown pants, in lieu of the red?Steve That's a good idea. Perhaps I'll try in my emester break and then show it to you. Klaus-Dieter Edited July 11, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
