wesker Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Any sightings of the Jedi Interceptor set yet?
distortme Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Any sightings of the Jedi Interceptor set yet? Thats a Shop@Home exclusive. Won't see it in store unless Target get it late in the year like Mace's Jedi ship I reckon. I got mine from Bricklink with Anakin's Naboo Starfighter. .....Thinking about it you could probably try Galaxy Toys in SA - I think they're getting them [they have the Naboo fighter too]
Brickus Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Bad new guys the reports of the Super Heroes sets pricing at Myers are true. here are the prices rounded up to the nearest dollar The Batcave $140 Batmobile $110 Batwing $65 Superman $45 Catwoman Catcycle $27 Also all the Hero Factory sets are also overpriced by $3-$5. If Myers keeps doing this, I will not be buying LEGO in Australia for the foreseeable future. In sales news, Myers will also be having a somewhat mediocre sale from Thursday, Minifigures and selected Star Wars sets will be on sale but not by much. Sorry I don't know what the exact prices were. Edited February 14, 2012 by Brickus

No indication of who its exclusive to though. Given how much MYER seems to be ranting about online sales killing their business, I would have thought that selling product above RRP is the LAST thing they should be doing. But maybe they are doing it so that when they have another sale (3 for 2, %off, whatever) they dont have to discount the Superheroes product so much. Does anyone know if there are any restrictions put in place by LEGO Australia on what prices you can charge for product if you are a LEGO retailer? Edited February 14, 2012 by jonwil

Sorry I don't know what the exact prices were. Don't forget that myer will price match as long as it is not below cost price. Given that lego would have about a 30% mark up on it there should be no problem getting a price match and this helps if your collecting myer one points.

A Supplier or Distributor can't force a retailer to sell a product for any specific amount. An RRP is exactly that, Recommended Retail Price & if a retailer chooses to sell it for more than this, or less than this, no one can do anything about it, it would be against Competition Laws.

Further to this: The infringement comes if all retailers are deliberately doing this and are found to be "price fixing"

Sorry I don't know what the exact prices were. Thanks Brickus, I'm glad I made the effort to look at this thread before posting the exact same info. In better news at Myer I saw all Heroica sets (there are only 4 right?) in the clearance stand and they work out to about half price with the extra 30% they had off the lowest marked price. Edit: I think the Tie Fighter was $9 above RRP too, but older Star Wars sets were at RRP (sometimes $1 below) Edited February 15, 2012 by hewman

Ooh, what's this about an extra 30% off? The clearance items are 30% off the marked price?
Hewman Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Ooh, what's this about an extra 30% off? The clearance items are 30% off the marked price? The ones I saw in Adelaide were anyway. I didn't buy any but that's what the sign said.

Thanks for the info, I might be tempted to pick up some sets for the microfigs. Also, myer one members get an extra 10% off the current toy catalogue offers from today (Thursday) to Sunday.

Also, myer one members get an extra 10% off the current toy catalogue offers from today (Thursday) to Sunday. I clicked on the link in the email from Myer and the only Lego sets were the Droid Escape and the Geonosian one, so is it only those on special, and hence only them the extra 10% applies to? I couldn't find an actual catalogue, possibly because there's not enough on special to warrant a full catalogue.

jonwil Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Someone on another forum posted "FYI all, Myer has 20% off lego till the 26th and for today and the next 3 days its an additional 10% off with Myer one card" Although with MYER and their price gouging on the Superman set, its STILL cheaper in a Target 20% off sale than it is with 20% + 10% off the MYER price. However, for sets NOT being sold above RRP (such as City sets), the deal is probably one of the best you can find on LEGO.
Laygo Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Just got back from Myers and got the 20% off but no extra 10% off for the Myer one discount. The 20% off is off all Lego. distortme Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Just got back from Myers and got the 20% off but no extra 10% off for the Myer one discount. The 20% off is off all Lego. Odd I got my extra 10% off at Myer CBD. Also got two Rameses Pyramids for $15.50 each as they were on clearance. Tempted on the last three that are still there!
Laygo Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Was it advertised somewhere? So i can clip the coupon/advert out and take it in and get my 10% refund. Odd I got my extra 10% off at Myer CBD. distortme Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Was it advertised somewhere? So i can clip the coupon/advert out and take it in and get my 10% refund. Big advert in store. Maybe it was Myer Adelaide only...?
jonwil Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I don't recall a sign about the MYER One %off in Perth CBD today but I wasnt looking that closely at all the signage so it may have been there. In any case, I shall most likely be waiting for a Target sale for my next LEGO purchases rather than giving my money to a company that chooses to rip-off its customers by charging more than RRP.
lightningtiger Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) Big advert in store. Maybe it was Myer Adelaide only...? No, same at TTP, extra 10% off for Myer One card holders....I asked tonight. Edited February 16, 2012 by lightningtiger
DrWeevil Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 A question - does anybody know who will be selling the Super Heroes Funhouse Escape set? I know shopforme had it for like a day but even with 10% off I couldn't bring myself to pay that ridiculous price ($80) for a 320 piece set - so I'm hoping one of the majors will have it and I can at least get a 20% sale... Has anyone on here been able to source it at a decent price?
KartoffelViking Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I don't recall a sign about the MYER One %off in Perth CBD today but I wasnt looking that closely at all the signage so it may have been there. I'm in Adelaide too, and I believe what the sign said was an extra 10% off for Myer One members, on items from the current online "toyzone" catalogue. I'm not sure if the 20% off LEGO is part of that catalogue (and I believe Hewman pointed out that there only seemed to be a couple of LEGO sets in that catalogue), so it might be just a bit of luck if you end up getting the compound discount. In any case, I shall most likely be waiting for a Target sale for my next LEGO purchases rather than giving my money to a company that chooses to rip-off its customers by charging more than RRP. I agree In fact I was holding the Batmobile set last night, but decided not to get it due to the inflated price. They surely got those prices wrong when people can walk away from a potential 28% discount
Xyver Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Kmart at Capalaba (Qld) has the Hogwarts set (4867) on clearance for $59 - that's 40% off, there's been 5 or 6 there for the last few weeks now. I'm not in to Harry Potter, but all the tan pieces and the green roof might come in handy. Probably wait to see if it drops any more though before I pick it up, I've spent way too much on Lego this year already.
Artanis I Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 20% is of all Lego at Myer, but the extra 10% is on the selected items. Many of the board games are marked down on clearance and the 20% off should apply too. K Mart has Alien Conquest sets marked down, not sure what the original prices were to say how much by, but the HQ set is now $100.

I believe some k-marts also have the big Alien Conquest set on clearance for $99, well worth it at that price. Myer Adelaide had one Imperial Flagship and a few 10231 Space Shuttles, I'm not sure if they're giving an extra 10% off on top of the 20% off Lego, but it looks like production of the Flagship has ceased and prices are going up quickly.
