Max_Lego Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) I was fascinated by Knights' Batman miniatures game, yet I wasn't sure if I could possibly purchase anything of it. Instead, I decided to create my very own, similar, yet very original, Lego Batman miniatures game with Lego minifigures! The game is far from being finished yet, but the characters' miniatures are quite ready (?). In my game, the radius of the character's baseplate indicates their threat level. My opinion on this subject may change with time. Anyway, here are the characters. Please forgive their limited number (they are everything I have at the moment): The GCPD: The Rogues gallery: The game's most powerful character - Bat-Mite, a autonomous being, whom the players cannot control - his actions depend on his attitude, which can change during the game: The game can be extended with other DC heroes and villains, such as Superman and Lex Luthor: Captain Marvel (SHAZAM!) and Mr. Mind: The Flash and Captain Cold: As I said, the game isn't finished yet, so if anyone has any suggestions or wishes, I will be happy to hear from you! Max_Lego Posted December 16, 2023 Author Posted December 16, 2023 Not long ago I decided to add two non-DC characters to the game - Billy Butcher and the Homelander from Garth Ennis' comic "The Boys". They will make the game process harsher! After recently watching the "Joker" movie, I also decided to add two ambiguously DC characters - Arthur Fleck and Murray Franklin. All of the four characters above are just for game expansion. If I want to. Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Interesting concept- I love the idea that a character's power is proportionate to their base radius. It could be a cool mechanic to have each player only able to use a set number of studs total for the bases, making them have to choose between a larger number of lower-radius characters or a smaller number of more powerful characters. i.e. Batman is worth around 11 security guards, Deathstroke is worth 3 standard rogues, etc. Quote

Honestly, the classification of characters' power by baseplate radius is quite rough, which means characters with the same radius may not be equal. But the only real limitation here is the number of round plates I had ... Quote
Max_Lego Posted December 17, 2023 Author Posted December 17, 2023 The characters pictured below won't be part of the Batman game. Instead, they will be the basis of the Sonic miniatures game! The Egg-mobile will make dr. Eggman almost equal to Sonic in terms of combat power, while Jim Robotnik will rely on his Badniks. He can be enforced with the Prototype plane, though. Because vehicles, such as my MOC Batmobile, can be employed by characters in my game! Quote
Max_Lego Posted February 9, 2024 Author Posted February 9, 2024 The Lego Batman miniatures game is dead - long live the TNBA board game! Characters' bases represent their combat power no more - everyone now has a base as small as possible. At the moment I have 24 Batman characters, including Bat-Mite (I don't know whether to include him in my game, since his appearance in the DCAU is quite ambiguous): Also there are 9 extra non-Batman characters: Also here are some game tools: combat damage markers (trans-yellow for stun, trans-red and -neon for injury), a Batarang range template and 4 move templates: Now I am going to write characters' cards (Batman card is ready). Max_Lego Posted February 28, 2024 Author Posted February 28, 2024 After writing 7 characters' cards, I finally created a game board I am satisfied with - it's inspired by Jimmy 'the Jazzman' Peake's warehouse hideout from BTAS episode 'I am the night': Of course, I would've loved to build something more impressive, but I don't have enough bricks... Maybe I could try building the Iceberg Lounge from TNBA - like, the villains had a legal party there... But it's just my thoughts... The 2nd floor of the warehouse is filled with crates to hide behind: The first floor, however, has got canisters with exploding gas: When finished, the board game promises to be quite interesting... Max_Lego Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 As I am not capable of creating one single game board, that would fit all my villains and satisfy my expectations, I decided to build one location per villain (or group of villains), not unlike computer game levels. Rupert Thorne's location is his office, seen in BTAS episode "The man who killed Batman": More small locations will be constructed soon... Quote
Max_Lego Posted March 17, 2024 Author Posted March 17, 2024 A new 'small' location is ready - Ace Chemicals! Sadly, I had to destroy the warehouse to build this... But IMHO it's worth! Quote
powerwolfo Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) The attention to detail in your build is seriously impressive. From the minifigures to the game board design, everything screams Batman vibes. And the fact that you're incorporating different game mechanics like dice rolling and strategy makes it even more exciting. It's like being in the middle of a Gotham City showdown! I can totally see myself spending hours playing this with friends or even going solo for some solitaire action. It's the kind of game that appeals to both hardcore LEGO fans and casual gamers alike. Plus, the replay value seems high with all the different scenarios and characters to choose from. Edited June 14, 2024 by powerwolfo Quote

Thank you for your kind words! As I mentioned before, Knights' Batman miniatures game was the primary inspiration (though I didn't copy their game rules blindly, changing and adding something of my own). Sadly, the development of my game has stopped recently. I was planning to build the clock tower mechanism location for Clock King (based on the BTAS episode of the same name, but with something like a real clock mechanism instead) but couldn't find the turntable gear I needed. 'Beta-testing' the game revealed that the heroes have little to no chance of victory, and the gaming process is not as interesting as I would've liked it to be. I hope to find some time and fix the issues soon though. Quote
