calebcold3 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I don't know if anyone has mentioned this in the forum yet so forgive me if this brought up again but I just noticed that in the pics of the kid playing with the upcoming Age of Ultron set, the Hawkeye in the pictures is the one from Avengers tower instead of the one from the actual AOU set Just thought this was a funny error. I wonder how that slipped past LEGO.

TLG actively discourages people from swapping arms and it’s not very likely they took these images with anything other than the finalised set, so where did this bare-armed version of AoU Hawkeye come from? Some people think that this is the version actually included in the set and the black-armed one from the boxart and renders is the wrong one, but we will see Edited June 7, 2024 by BrickBob Studpants

cosmic Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 God the new Hawkeye figures look sooooo incredible. I absolutely adore the Avengers Tower and AoU variants we've gotten recently. So apparently Agent Venom is in the comic art present on the Brickheadz box for the new Mark 5 Brickhead. Perhaps it would be too much to assume this is a sign of an Agent Venom figure being teased, but honestly? I would love for that to be the case. Lego loves making Venom figures, so I think this would be a great way to spice things up. Plus, that would be our 3rd comic accurate Guardian of the Galaxy! We had Nova in 2013, the Rocket Raccoon mech was confirmed to be based off a specific comic cover, wish I remembered which exact one but I do remember someone referencing the exact image and confirming. Any who, this would give a little more life to comic accurate Guardians, which I would really appreciate. On that note, I would love for Lego to take the opportunity to produce a great comic accurate Mantis, while her head piece is still in production. Before they retire that mould, I would love to see her in a comic variant, otherwise the likelihood of them bringing back the mould in the future looks rather bleak. I know the Guardians 3 sets were very close to comic accurate, with Starlord and Rocket being "good enough", but Mantis and Drax are still noticeably MCU accurate, even with their respective suits. So that would be fun to get. Weird picks, but I'd love to get Agent Venom, Silver Samurai, and comic accurate Hawkeye mechs next. I kind of just want at least one mech that's out of left field. Maybe a do over for War Machine because his last mech had such a disappointing figure. For me, that is.

Overall that'd be fun, but since the two last mechs we got were War Machine and Venom, I'd be OK with them not remaking them so soon.

Yeah. Deadpool Mech? Cable Mech? Captain Marvel Mech? Dare Devil Mech?!!! I wouldn’t mind if there was only 1 Marvel Mech next year. As then DC could get 2 mechs. (The mandatory Jonkler and maybe a non-Batman hero. (Green Lantern Please!!!))
thebricksbear Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Has the "Cap 4: 2 pack" from Brick clicker been talked about already? I'm super disappointed because it seems to indicate the other set with Sabra and Falcon was cancelled.

If lego did decide for whatever reason to remove certain figures from that set, they've shown they're fine just releasing it with other figs. As-is, I'm assuming this is just a previously unknown set- it's not difficult to imagine a brickheadz pack flying under the radar. 11 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: Yeah. Deadpool Mech? Cable Mech? A falcon mech and a winter soldier mech could both be fun (wings and sort of a hermit crab style big arm), and I'd also love to see marvel mechs like the recent X-wing mech. (Star lord in a milano mech, black widow in a quinjet mech, cyclops in an X-jet, etc)

As far as I'm aware, there were only two Cap 4 sets we knew of before (the playset with Red Hulk and the buildable figure), and now this Brickheadz 2-pack is our third set

Also a potential way around worry about the punisher being associated with the R-rating. I have to strongly disagree on that second point. It's not so much about what kids actually see- most kids probably watch rated-R films years before they're 17, for instance- but about what's socially acceptable to show to kids. At the end of the day, lego's a children's toy brand, and even when sets are marketed to adults, they're still from a children's toy brand.

It's unfortunate seeing other companies like Hasbro and Funko having figures for Deadpool but not Lego. We know Lego is open to adult audiences, but its always a D2C set. I don't get why Lego won't make a smaller retail set for the new film.

Both the sets we already knew about were pretty clearly just pushed back because the movie was. I'm not too sure about Hasbro, but Funko routinely does figures on R-rated properties. Lego avoids that pretty hard. While after my conversation with @ARC2149Nova awhile ago, I'm willing to agree there's a possibility a clear comic-based deadpool shows up in a D2C, I don't think there's any way imaginable anything deadpool would be in a smaller retail set. Doesn't matter what the branding is, the small and mid-sized retail sets are seen as for kids, and it'd be a PR nightmare. Especially if it's retail and not some sort of weird limited-release lego.com only thing.

Because the movie has an R-rating, which is where TLG draw the line. R-rating = no sets. Simple as that. As @Mandalorianknight points out, a small retail set would be a PR disaster. “HOW DARE YOU POISON MY POOR BILLY’S MIND BY ADVERTISING A VIOLENT VULGAR DISGUSTING MOVIE TO HIM, I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE SPIRIT OF OLE KIRK CHRISTIANSEN RIGHT NOW” would be the consequence
