Sigh. Every time the Indiana Jones thread pops back up, it's the same thing: People getting excited over nothing, because the theme isn't coming back. This song (Round and Round by Ratt) comes to mind every time that thread reappears. Here's the last verse (I replaced the word love with LEGO for the purposes of this thread):

'Round and round
With LEGO we'll find a way, just give it time
Round and round
What comes around goes around
I'll tell you why, why, why, why
Round and round'

(Repeat ad nauseum until the sun burns out.)

I posted this here because people might not take kindly to it over there, and because I don't want to bump that thread. Thoughts?

Sorry to double post, but I just learned Val Kilmer is dead at age 65 and thought you all should know, considering he was Batman for a short while. (Batman Forever)

Rest In Peace, Val Kilmer (1959 - 2025)

Truly the cruelest April Fool's joke.

Absolutely GOATed image. Dare I say, the best Spider-Man panel(s) of all time.

Y'know, maybe imposter isn't our old shelled friend. We can't jump on every newcomer to the Aslume that's vaguely located near Finland.

The Absolute universe is peak. Therefore Lego won’t make sets based off it.

It’s a shame, were never getting thought druggie MM ever. Or eldritch horror Mister Freeze. Or Bane… wait, he’s pretty much the same as Prime Earth.

I’ve narrowed down the possible combinations of characters for the GL mech that’s totally releasing in January 2026. I’ll be listing them from most likely to least likely. This is judging by how relevant they are next year.

  1. Guy Gardner and General Zod (Logically capitalises on both Lanterns and Superman hype, plus Lego seems to like including letters on Superman characters)
  2. Hal Jordan and John Stewart (Lanterns’ leads)
  3. John Stewart and Sinestro (I have a sneaking suspicion that Lego might want to fulfill some diversity quotas for the DC theme as the last black DC minifigure was Val Zod in 2022)
  4. Jessica Cruz and Supergirl (My adventures with Green Lantern and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow are releasing, my guess is that Kara goes to same school as Jessica and that’s how Jess ties in with MAWS)
  5. Guy Gardner and Braniac
  6. Hal Jordan and Sinestro (I wish this one was higher)
  7. Jessica Cruz and Sinestro
  8. Jessica Cruz and Starfire

Saying it outright makes TLG sound insane. I mean, are they stupid?

Maybe when we raid the LEGO House we ask them very nicely to stop focusing on the one white, male human on the Justice League besides Flash? Now imagine a LEGO DC theme like that…

The only things I’d get from an Indy theme I wouldn’t get elsewhere would be the man Indy himself, WW2-era quasi-military vehicles and potentially real-world artifacts-that said, just look at the Ark of the Covenant for the quality of artifacts we could get. In the end, I’d rather TLG try something on their own, with their own original situations and landscapes. We the people demand Adventurers.

Alright, I accidentally won a Hugo Strange CMF; I ask you not to ask but please do anyway. Would someone care to explain who this man is, besides the fact he was voiced by a personal favourite, Corey Burton?

I mentioned this in another thread but Adventurers lasted longer than both Indy runs put together. The people yearn for Johnny Thunder because, unlike Indy, he's not a predator.

Also being the bum that he is Indy's never met the Dummy where as Mr Thunder crossed paths with the Dummy twice to our knowledge.

Okay, I'll bite how'd you win him?

He's generally a psychiatrist who's biggest claim to fame is working out Batman's identity in various continuities.  He's most well known for the Arkham games and the "Batman: Pey" comic, the latter is kinda a time capsule to how therapy was viewed in the 20th century, it also includes this panel.

I wish Adventurers came back. A quasi-militaristic, yet relatively tame and kid-friendly theme, free from politics and direct historical context, with cool vehicles and nice-looking minifigures. The last time we saw them was in 2011 Pharaoh's quest (the Haunted mansion easter egg and the inclusion of Pippin Reed in the Orient Express, obviously, don't count), and it still looked amazing. And there was also this old set with actual Lego Zeppelin pieces!  If TLG is slowly bringing Pirates and Knights back (albeit said sets are rather pricey), maybe Adventurers will return too?

That was also in the late 90s, just before TLG almost went bankrupt, and they were a much smaller company back then. It’s thus not unthinkable that the Indy sets sold much better than Adventurers did, despite their shorter run

No offense to good ol’ Johnny (especially since Adventurers was my favourite theme as a kid), but who needs an expy if you can have the original?

I laid out who would very clearly, people who don't like nonces and people who understand contact with Dummy improves things tenfold.

Adventurers also general has a much more engaging aesthetic and more variety in sets. Indy isn't bad but it's a downgrade. It's not even like a bad theme, one of the stronger licenses of it's era but Adventures is a lot more fun.

Plus Australian accents are fun

Yeah, I think it's a shoe in for an eventual icons set at the least. I mean they've remade all of the three main protagonists recently and Johnny's been an enduring LEGO icon in sets, games and the parks for decades now.

Not unthinkable but no where near a guarantee. Even if it was success is relative. Adventures was a solid hit for LEGO at a time they needed it, Indy was positioned to be the one of their big hitters like Star Wars in a time they were much more comfortable and it failed to have any legs twice. That's a far more disappointing and embarrassing fate.

The only thing nearly as embarrassing would be spending millions on a legacy sequel attempting to "fix" the previous conclusion only to wind up with a movie that refuses to have a single positive to entice a new audience and entirely dependent on an aging preexisting fanbase with enough common sense to steal clear of the dud.

Ah, the irony of talking about how bad certain movies and certain themes did in the DC thread of all places. 😝

It’s the Aslume. This ceased to be a pure DC thread a loooooooooong time ago :snicker:

Right? Seriously @psqidexslizer you're really far behind. Hell for like a year now the various Star Wars fans here have been using it to just talk about the series. Anything not against the Eurobricks rules is fair game

I mean that's canon. I swear I heard when the game shut down the creators said it was because the Maelstrom won

Single most based interview with a lego employee ever if true. Instead of blatantly false info like "all yellow clones are the same" or "we can't make JFO sets because it's... the equivalent rating of the films", it's just telling a bunch of kids "you can't play your video game anymore because the bad guy beat you, skill issue."

It's very funny, definitely made some kids cry. All I'm gonna says is if the Dummy was there it wouldn't have gone down like that, there'd have been purple blood on the screen

Does he seek to challenge my authority in all things armored and chipped? What chance does a mere cloned soldier stand against Khonshu's avatar? What construct of will could pierce the Beskar'gam that so guards my heart? The clones of Jango Fett may have adopted the high ground into their jetpacks but it was Mandalorians who developed the technology. IT WAS MY PEOPLE WHO FIRST FLEW LIKE A BEE!

That monologue probably belongs in the Aslume, but moving on-

You fool! You think the high ground is your ally? I was born in it (on the elevated cities of Kamino), moulded by it. I did not touch the surface until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but pathetic.

Oh, and I have a little spacefaring piece of jewellery which practically makes me high ground incarnate.

Listen, I don't wanna come off like I'm biased here but there's no way Mandalorian wins this right? Like half of his declaration of war he's talking about impenetrable armour he has but he's only wearing a helmet.

The Dummy was there if memory serves. He was alongside the other CMF s1 figures serving as various vendors in Nexus Tower. He let us down... he betrayed us all. He was supposed to being balance to the universe, not leave it in darkness!

Well it turns out memory did not serve, I looked into it, trust me. Certain series 1 and 2 CMFs were there, the Robot and Spartan I know definitely were, but not anywhere near the entire lot.

The only place online claiming the game to have ever had any representation of him is Brickapedia stating his face was in the customizer but online footage of it shows ,while many series 1 faces were, the Dummy was not amongst them. The Dummy was never in the game, every other vendor is documented
