Retrocity Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) A full image of the set is out there. The horses don’t look that bad. I always try to get extra horses on Bricklink if I see them cheap when buying other parts, so it’s not too big of a deal for me. The castle itself looks smaller/a little less detailed than the prior 3 in 1. I do like the tower build on the right side. Maybe there are some features on the inside (looks like maybe a stable door inside the castle from the picture). Like the prior 3 in 1, I anticipate a lot of good alternate builds using multiple copies. Those will probably affect when/if I eventually get one or more copies (though will probably look for a sale/used copy) versus ordering parts/figures on PAB. The minifigures look great, can’t really get a good look at the torsos other than the civilian. There is a king, knight, archer, and spearman for the Horseknights. I also have to say I’m very excited for the return of the Ghost minifigure in the Haunted House. Edited April 16 by Retrocity Quote
Agent Kallus Posted April 16 Posted April 16 This looks really good, really expands the purview of what a creator set can be. A lot of new patts and prints for characters and a brilliant looking build. I'm excited to see it properly. Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I had a dream last night that this new castle was actually a backdoor pilot to a new, standard playset wave of Castle sets coming out in 2026. It might help explain why the printing budget for this set is so high, but that also might be a long shot... I don't think the castle looks like $120, but it still looks pretty good to me. As a general release Creator set, it will be easy to find for $100 or cheaper, though. I'm very interested to see what the rest of the interior and the other builds looks like. Quote
Blazej_Holen Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Its kinda good looking Castle...I will definitelly get it and build it, but hten I will use it as a parts pack... Figs are so far good, I am happy for the Kings crown headpiece and 4 minifigs from new faction is great to make small regiment of soldiers. Perhaps they can be mixed with paladins torsos, which I have 3x...:) So good set for what it is... Quote
TeriXeri Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) So at least 2 knights looks to use a white torso with a white horse logo on a grey background, again, in my view a cool nod to Nexo Lance, which did not have an official classic castle reference before unlike the rest, which had dragon/falcon/bull/fox(wolfpack)/dragon and black knight before. A bit like this but more classic. I hope the snake knight gets some sort of followup as well, the black cape and helmet really sets it up for the a new sort of Black Knight faction instead of reusing the dragon, and thus being too similar for some Icons set that might be featuring the originals (they got mentioned in the Lion Knights Castle manual after all) , also not to mention they brought back the Glowing Ghost mould in another 3-in-1 set, and 6086 Black Knight's Castle had a ghost too. For this snake faction they could also do a black castle of some sort, the yellows would make it different enough, altho, LEGO had black/yellow timbered wall piece long ago with 6074 Black Falcon's Fortress from 1986, and later used for Black Knights Castle , they can still reference it a bit : Edited April 16 by TeriXeri Quote
SpacePolice89 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 After seeing the pictures I have to say that it looks very good and the selection of minifigures is fantastic. The only negative thing is the brick built horses but that was expected. Now we need a full wave of retail Castle sets! Quote
iragm Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Yeah, the new castle looks fine. No better/worse than the previous, which was underwhelming. The Rebrickable builds will no doubt be amazing. Minifigures are promising, I'm hoping the snake does not have a emblem and is using bright light yellow to fill out the ranks of a Raven army, but we'll see. I'm going to make a prediction here: Black Knights coming back with a 6086-inspired remake next summer. Why? Redesigned emblem in Lion Knight's castle Letter in Town Square Ghost mold back Masonry brick now available in black Particular attention paid to fan requests in the 3 in 1 and prize machine (2x new factions instead of 1 for each) LKC retiring at the end of this year, all signs point to it being an excellent seller The only things missing are dragon plumes (which were referenced in a marketing video a year ago), barding, a few torso prints and 2 shields. Well within the budget for a flagship set and a replacement for LKC. Whoever is doing the market research for castle is absolutely crushing it, delivering exactly what fans want. I guess maybe MTS wasn't as great as some people wanted, and there's demand for battle packs (why? No idea, PAB is so much better), but still, this is easily the best time ever to be a Lego castle fan. Quote
Aanchir Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Hard for me to judge the Creator castle as a whole until I've seen the alt builds, which are a big part of any Creator 3-in-1 set, but the main build looks nice, and definitely stands out from the more squarish design of the previous 3-in-1 castle. I imagine it'd be modular like that set, which always provides a fun source of inspiration for ways to expand on it. Even more so if it adheres to the same style of connections, so that you can mix-and-match builds from both sets! It's great to see that the new shield mold from last year's Legend of Zelda set is not IP-locked, since it's such a useful shape! The 2x2x5 corner panels in Medium Stone Grey are also a very useful new recolor that will be great for Castle builds. And the brick-built horses look a lot nicer than the ones in the 3-in-1 pirate ship set (of course, I'm sure it helps that the caparisons cover up parts most of the legs, which are probably the part of a horse that's hardest to achieve a good-looking brick-built design for at this scale). Gonna be interested to see more details as the official reveal approaches. Like, does the main model or one of the alternate models include a stable for the horses? What other sorts of interior details does the set have to offer? Will any of the alternate models feature horse builds without caparisons, and if so, how will they look? What sort of play features might there be besides the drawbridge and the obvious role-play elements. Quote
imposter Posted April 16 Posted April 16 It is Creator theme. 3 in 1. Brick build and so on. We have to consider those. Maybe 2026 comes ICONS line castle set. 1 build not 3 in 1. If we count together all Castle related sets / things after Castle theme discontinued - well WOW! Quite a lot of effort. Even the GHOST is coming in different set. (monsters) Quote

This would also explain why they still haven't rebooted the Black Knights unlike other Classic Era factions. They are waiting for the right moment. Which marketing video are you talking about ? Quote
karrit Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I finally found the watermarked picture of the castle that shows way more than the first blurry leak. I'm not a fan of those molded capes but really happy to get a new King figure. I speculate that the Archer up on the left with the blue hood may be a female. I would really like to get a more classic style Queen and/or Princess with a printed dress mold. The only obvious Female Medieval figs we have gotten over the past few years are villagers. I don't mind the females disguised as knights at all but would really like some obvious female royalty to populate the various castles that have come out. And give me some Black & Gray molded horses please LEGO! Quote
Black Falcon Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I am actually surprised that those watermarked pictures show up that often now on reddit, since before it was said they wouldn´t post those since they would get a strike for it. Anyways, so far it looks good, especially like the new heair/crown mould, and also that there are 3 shields included for the horse Knights. Not really sure about the civilian figure, will judge that one when we get clear pictures from it but on first sight the other figures look great. Quote

I mean in terms of what fabs want personally I'd love some sort of fantasy era remake with trolls and Dwarves and so on (but the D&D stuff did help fill that niché somewhat, I hope we get a second D&D CMF down the line..) I'd also love to see some new torsos per faction to help in create variety ( and Kingdoms green dragon knights back please) but I digress. In terms of Pab being so much better than battle packs I have to disagree. Small sets fill a different niché and would be more convenient to pick up plus the two could work in tandem, with any new parts from smaller castle inspired sets going on to appear on PAB too. Quote

At least 3 shields there may be more that we can't see. I think the set looks fine. Everyone on reddit saying it's crap and we can't even see the details yet. We are getting 6 new figs with 2 new factions and even a king and these people complain. It's getting tiresome reading the comments there. Everyone wanted new factions and more castle and now that we got them they still complain. I think it's ridiculous. We haven't even seen the alt builds yet either. I'm definitely getting at least 1 probably 2. Quote
TeriXeri Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) Definately looking forward to the parts list of this castle + the haunted house, which looks to have useful parts as well, beyond the obvious ghost figure coming back. Also a single picture, even box picture often doesn't show a set properly. I often find sets larger then expected compared to pictures on a box/screen, even those demo pictures where it's on a table. That would be great but I am not optimistic about that. The reason why we get all these new factions and new peasant torso is because that's all we will get. And to offer a nice medieval minifig palette for BDP. I don't think we will get a new castle icons set. Yes it's popular but niche compared to licensed themes. I wonder when we will see pictures of the gumball machine. Voted for Griffins. Isn't that coming out in june ? Quote

I think they technically get around it by posting the watermarked images to a secondary subreddit, then repost it to the main one. So, if a strike happens, it would only affect the secondary subreddit. 6 hours ago, Black Falcon said: especially like the new heair/crown mould It looks like the old crown hair mold to me: Quote
TeufelHund Posted April 17 Posted April 17 (edited) Based on the leaked image, I have to say this looks like a less sophisticated build compared to the previous 3in1 Creator Casle - looks like a parts pack to me. Brickbuilt horses are awful. The minfigs look ok though - good to see the king's crown from the CMF series make a comeback. Edited April 17 by TeufelHund Quote

If you look at the merlons on the walls, they are just 1x1 great blocks with studs on top. This looks unfinished and poor. For the inclusion of about 6 1x1 tiles they could have made this look much much better. This feels lazy and greedy and I don’t even want to think about the price. If they wanted to just give fans the figs, make smaller battle sets. Quote

Westbrick Posted April 17 Posted April 17 What part are the horse hooves? also this might be wishful thinking, but running the image through google translate turns the text into ‘A new series appears’ Quote
