I.  I'm not a fan of those molded capes

I am a fan, but not sure those are included in the set :sceptic:

In terms of Pab being so much better than battle packs I have to disagree. Small sets fill a different niché and would be more convenient to pick up plus the two could work in tandem, with any new parts from smaller castle inspired sets going on to appear on PAB too.

I agree, PAB is great (even if the prices are becoming less so), but PAB needs sets to source parts from. I do not think we will get any small normal sets anytime soon, but they would be a great source of parts for PAB and other sets for that matter :shrug_oh_well:

At least 3 shields there may be more that we can't see.

I think the set looks fine.  Everyone on reddit saying it's crap and we can't even see the details yet.  We are getting 6 new figs with 2 new factions and even a king and these people complain.  It's getting tiresome reading the comments there.  Everyone wanted new factions and more castle and now that we got them they still complain.  I think it's ridiculous.  We haven't even seen the alt builds yet either.  I'm definitely getting at least 1 probably 2.

This is a lot more than we could expect from a creator set ever before, so see no reason to complain either. It definitely is no LKC of course, but it still gives us a lot of new stuff. I will probably buy it because of that, the last one I had no interest in buying even if it maybe looked better..

 Brickbuilt horses are awful.

I think they look decent, but since they are brickbuilt I will never use them. Would look to strange as all brickbuilt animals do next to the real thing (moulded ones) :shrug_oh_well:
If the unicorn castle have a moulded foal thing may change in Creator enough that we will get moulded ones next castle set

Are there actually 3 factions? FLAGS: YELLOW | BLUE | RED

Do not think so :sceptic:

Edit: Or maybe you are right, looking at the picture there is a new shield over the red flag of the king right?! :oh:

Edit2: or are those just bricks in a window?

I had a dream last night that this new castle was actually a backdoor pilot to a new, standard playset wave of Castle sets coming out in 2026. It might help explain why the printing budget for this set is so high, but that also might be a long shot...

Sounds like a wet dream :pir-laugh:

It's a brick built shield similar to the banners they had on the previous 3 in 1 castle.

That would be great but I am not  optimistic about that.

The reason why we get all these new factions and new peasant torso is because that's all we will get. And to offer a nice medieval minifig palette for BDP. I don't think we will get a new castle icons set. Yes it's popular but niche compared to licensed themes.

The Lions Knights Castle seemed to do pretty well though, so I wouldn´t say it is that unlikely to get a remake of the Black Knights Castle.

They don't look molded to me - especially the blue one. It looks way thinner and stretches out horizontally more than the rubber capes.

I think they technically get around it by posting the watermarked images to a secondary subreddit, then repost it to the main one. So, if a strike happens, it would only affect the secondary subreddit.

Reposting would not be better than posting it themselves (which they do anyways, since it is their own secondary channel). Hence it is also forbidden to link to leaks here.

It looks like the old crown hair mold to me

Yes, you are right. I didn´t remember that one, just was quite sure there hasn´t been such a crown in castle before.  Actually the only similar crown that came to my mind was the one Prince John from the Disney CMF was wearing, but the head itself was quite different there ;).

It is a brickbuilt crest, that´s all. No idea why they used the red flag for the king, but if there would be another faction, we would see it on the main build too. Maybe it has something to do with the joust alternate build and they use the civilian as another type of knight there or whatever.

No you could be right🤔 However it's Pirates turn in 2026 so it would be in 2027 I assume..

MTS did not do to well it seems, so was probably a mistake to cut the budget for the set :hmpf:

I noticed that also. Horse Knights and Black Falcons both come from Britain Island.

Red and with, England, Island of Britain. Medieval times... 1st against Vikings, then England vs Ireland and so on. Then it was rime of "Game of Thrones" ... civil war like situation. Almost. It is great to see LEGO to respect history. Even Castle theme is fantasy for me.

Black Falcons?! For me they represent the Holy Roman Empire(greater Germany/first Reich) . The biggest empire during medieval times.

Lion Knights are English or even  Spanish due to colors and sigil.

I still did get it but yes , they had cut corners. Unfinished roofs, no Wolfpack shield, stickers and weird color combo : olive green with dark tan.....yikes. Minifigs were great!

Based on the leaked pic, the new castle looks a little more juvenile in design than the previous 3 in 1 that just retired (or less sophisticated, as someone else said).  The new mini figures are always a selling point.  The archer with the blue hood looks the most interesting to me.

I’d LOVE a return of the Black Knights!  My favorite faction from my childhood.

I would really like to get a more classic style Queen and/or Princess with a printed dress mold.  The only obvious Female Medieval figs we have gotten over the past few years are villagers.  I don't mind the females disguised as knights at all but would really like some obvious female royalty to populate the various castles that have come out.

Disney sets/CMF are excellent to get femme royals.   Snow White's Queen and Princess Aurora wear modest medieval dresses without obvious modern details.  BAM had a green queen last year and CMF had a French Aristocrat if you want bigger dresses (although magenta in the CMF may have been hard to get before trade with the Americas.)

The Harry Potter theme has long robes/dresses that typically lack modern details, so they work in various eras.  Professor McGonagall has a navy & green dress in Hogsmeads Village that I love.  And Dumbledore's long robes in many sets will work as gowns for female royals.  You just need the right hair with a pinhole for their crowns!

I have some of the Disney Sets & CMF's.  I guess I could use some of those as well as some of the HP figs.  I just wish they would make Female Castle Figs that use the colors to match with the various Knight Factions.

So Lion Knight's are from France. Black Falcons probably even from Britain. Orcs are like barbarians from Roman Empire.

According to one person's complex headcanon, I guess. Personally I've vaguely imagined that the Lion Knights are kinda-sorta English and the Black Falcons are kinda-sorta German. Really, the different Castle factions can be from wherever you want in medieval Europe.

Yeah, i was posted here on Eurobricks. And actually it contradicts the official lore he always is so exited about for some factions at least...

Personally, I never thought about where they could be coming from in real life, because they all live in a fantasy Lego world, though of course there general world is similar to the medieval world with some fantasy elements.

This YouTube channel is one of the best.

This YouTube channel hosts actually know EVERYTHING about Castle. New and old.

There is Official Castle Lore, made by TLG. All Castle related sets and minifigures, animals are part of that universe. That is why it is so exciting to get 2 new factions from LEGO. Now we just to figure out the story behind all of it.

We get 4 new factions from LEGO. Horse and Snake from creator set and Griffin and Kraken from Ideas gumball machine

Indeed. Lions and eagles/falcons are the most common sigils. So you can use it for whatever you want.

Not just sorta english, but in the 1984 catalog, when they were introduced, the UK catalog name for 6021 Jousting Knights was Sir Richard vs the Black Knight .

It's pretty much localized names however, Black Knights (UK) = Black Falcons (US) before they added the more common Black Knight faction (with the black-walled castles), and Robin Hood (UK) vs Forestmen (US) vs Vrijbuiters (Dutch), and variations like Lion Knights vs Lion-heart Knights.

I think lion knights of all sorts are always gonna to some degree be coded as English though obviously they don't have to be. Early LEGO marketing pushed that heavy though so I totally get why them being from there is so engrained

Q: Is Richard the Lionheart related to the Queen?

A: She is not a direct descendant, as Richard the Lionheart had no legitimate heirs. Instead, Elizabeth II is descended from Richard's younger brother John, also known as Prince John in the tales of Robinhood.

It all depended in what country you lived in. In Belgium ,the Lion Knights were depicted as Flemish and the Black Falcons as supporters to France. And the Forestmen were just called Robin Hood and his men. Black Knights were just Black Knights. Even the names of the castles had different names. Lion Knights castle was called castle Clauwaert in Belgium and in the Netherlands it was called castle Wittemburg.

I always thought of the Kingdoms' Lions as being England. The tournament knight CMF feels more Germanic to me, and the Black Falcons seem more French. I also imagine the Fantasy Era and 2013 knights being Scotland, though I have absolutely no historical basis for that.
