TeriXeri Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Wanted poster in 60455 Police Motorcycle references 604-14, but that's 60414 Fire Station with Fire Truck , so I wonder if one of the fire people turned criminal . Quote

If that would be the case, the lake would have to fit too, which it doesn´t - so I would say it isn´t related to the other sets, which makes sense since it isn´t part of the exporer subtheme. Quote
TeriXeri Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) I wonder if that mining helm/pickaxe sticker in the train tunnel/cave hints at some mining sets for 2026, I mean, last time was 2018, same year as the previous landbased arctic wave. And the excavator, bulldozer and now dump truck with boulders would fit with it quite well. Edited May 7 by TeriXeri Quote

Murdoch17 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Reposting what I wrote on Brickset about the City Tower set and it's subway car: LEGO is giving kids a bad idea with the graffiti on the rail car. There is enough of that vandalism in the world without giving kids ideas that that is ok. Two streetcars in my local train museum were vandalized last January or so with graffiti by teens / kids around 3 in the morning, and seeing LEGO give them and their ilk the thumbs-up for this deviant behavior is sad. TeriXeri Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) I stand by my opinion that City Tower is a great starter set, but otherwise, too much of a mix up. clearly invites expanding it with other sets from a business standpoint as City Space, Construction, Trains, Police, Fire and Action are the current major subthemes, Train and Construction especially having a lot more sets compared to the last 5-10 years or so (especially in terms of having the red tram/train set, and still 3 major full train sets (2025 arctic, 2018 cargo and 2022 passenger) even with the 2022 cargo retired. Especially if it ends up being LEGO exclusive , that'll just hurt the price more (even with GWP or Insider points etc, cannot beat some 25-40% City discounts) 60380 Downtown is a much stronger set if the goal was expanding city with just buildings etc, but also got some major discounts. As for the other sets, I especially think the Police Boat is the best value set of City Summer 2025, and the new higher boat hull is a great new design, a lot of building room in that 8-wide studded area, and the boat itself has good pieces , and even if the criminal is a repeat from the prison island, you can just swap a head to avoid duplicate, as they add hairpieces for the 2 Police figures as well. Hope that boat hull will be used a lot more, as it's depth through nearly the full length makes it interesting to design like 2-deck yacht with swimming pool, or extra net/cargo space for a fishing boat or something 60373 Fire Rescue Boat is still around as well for now until end of 2026 , another great value boat hull set, but that boat design uses a lot of studs for the deck , so ultimately has a lot less space to build custom designs with interior for. Powered by Bricks Posted May 17 Author Posted May 17 The set idea looks odd. With the new images it's now known that this is an apartment building with very goofy and silly aspects. The set's description teases expansion with other sets but it's hard to figure out what sets are meant to combine with this? I'm not sure if this has some sort of connection with the Show. Odd to see a big d2c be a the most unusual mix of elements in an apartment building. The best thing out of this set for me is the double faces of the named characters. (sorry pigeon fans). When will we get something close to 60380? Or 60271? Quote
Lyichir Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Hm... with the official pics showing that the astronaut is more of a departure from the other space sets, I'm feeling less pressure to get this one. I do like the tower crane and the subway car build (including the graffiti stickers, they're a cute, realistic detail for an urban setting and aren't going to actually convince kids to pull out a can of spray paint and break the law any more than sets with bank robberies are going to convince them to rob a bank). Brick900 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) I see, all the subthemes in one set. Something we have not seen before. 1 hour ago, Powered by Bricks said: When will we get something close to 60380? Or 60271? If you think about it, we’ve always had sets like that. Starting with 60026 Town Square in 2013, then 60097 two years later. It is not unrealistic either because cities do have many buildings. And for those who thought City was lacking buildings, those were options. Only, people would complain about high prices. What we saw in 60363 back in 2023 might make some think back to the older days of City, when they say we had more of a vehicle/building balance. The only thing is if you start looking through the list of sets you find we didn’t have very many like that. We had quite a few stand-alone vehicles back in the day of the “Great Vehicles” subtheme. And while City has had many changes throughout the years, that style of set continues to this very day. Edited May 17 by Brick900 Quote
hikouki Posted May 17 Posted May 17 That City set does look like it was designed by someone from the Multiverse team. Quote

karrit Posted May 18 Posted May 18 This Tower set is just a big mess. I always have a hard time justifying a purchase of these expensive large City sets. If I find a super clearance deal on it at some point it might be worth it but I'd much rather spend that kind of money on the well done upcoming Arctic Sets. Quote
hikouki Posted May 18 Posted May 18 As much as we all think that the set is garbage, I think it will sell... just because of the pigeons!!! Quote
Inspecter Posted May 18 Posted May 18 The Subway train is a bit too tiny, but I'm sure with proper modification it'll be better. Quote
Roebuck Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I am not so interested if the first half City sets however the interview is interesting especially towards the end. seems like they do not plan to do a big police and fire wave anytime soon since they did them last year. They try to build a system within City so hopefully this can lead to more interesting sets down the line Quote

I have to agree I have more interest in the second half of sets. Also recently it was revealed the new Ambulance Plane was originally meant to be a passenger plane. With that in mind I ask, would you prefer a 3181 look-a-like instead or do you like the Ambulance plane better? Edit: I meant the 2010 Blue Plane, typo Edited May 22 by Powered by Bricks Quote

I saw the video, nice explanations, and love how they embrace the modular sections of vehicles and the design behind the newest vehicle chassis piece, along with how they had extra room for sets like Scrapyard or Lifeguard. It's at least nice they moved off their 1 police wave a year thing , even the 2022 Police station is apparently staying until the end of 2026, despite using the older color scheme. On the other hand , a great number of sets, all across LEGO , last 1 year or less these days, and that even includes larger sets. In the long run, it means more sets, more variation, but also a lot more rush to get sets before end of year etc. Edited May 23 by TeriXeri Quote
TeriXeri Posted May 24 Posted May 24 (edited) So , after reading those Bricklink Designer progam rules, my theory of a mining theme next year seems more unlikely , Technic having Electric/Hybrid loader/excavator also seems to follow those rules regarding prefering Electric vehicles (last year also had that Mack electric garbage truck) Avoid highlighting fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas (e.g. depicting refineries, fuel storage or gas stations). It’s acceptable to showcase historical methods of transportation that rely on fossil fuels (e.g. steam locomotives). When honoring existing real-world vehicles, fossil-fueled ones are acceptable. For generic vehicles, consider making them electric to fit a playable and fantastic universe. Avoid showing any destruction of natural environments for human benefit (e.g., deforestation, logging, mining, land development, monoculture plantations, etc.) Edited May 24 by TeriXeri Quote

Will be interesting to see the color scheme of the building, as Police and Fire changed to a darker color scheme with black, and the red/white/azure would not really make sense anymore with the current medical theme, they probably make some building with Turquoise accents and very little neon yellow, only around a helipad or ambulance parking spot or whatever. I have a feeling some Winter ski/snowboard set could also appear again, maybe a ski slope with more of a cave system, instead of a glass building, seeing how they introduced some caves and train tunnels, with the 2025 snow exploration, and they hint at a Yeti and $$$ mining. Could also have some sort of cave crooks hideout, going by the 2025 Police Car garage with a ski-car, and the off-road chase set. Edited May 24 by TeriXeri Quote
