TechnicSkiier802 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) Assuming that info is accurate, it's probably safe to assume that 42215 has some motorized functions right? $400 seems like a very high price for the number of parts if it was just a manual model. Jockos Posted February 21 Posted February 21 It looks like Volvo became one of the all-time favourite brands in Technic. Since 2014 every 2 years we got 1 set, now every year we get 2 sets (?) Quote
mpj Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Volvo again... ? I was really hoping for Loebherr or Cat Quote

Saruzeufel Posted February 21 Posted February 21 A demolition excavator sounds too good to be true. Also Volvo sets were usually quite good sets for relatively low prices, so this could be full of motorized functions. If it is well done, I might have to sell a kidney. Was kinda disappointed with the sets this year so far, but maaan am I hyped now Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 21 Posted February 21 And if its true that is the volvo ec500 hybrid hopefully lego doesn't use stickers on the rear lights like on the 2016 volvo and i have made brick build volvo ew220e rear lights and it pretty easy to do:) Quote

Ngoc Nguyen Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 The good news is that there have been 3 Volvo sets in the last 2 consecutive years. The not so good news is that there have been 3 Volvo sets in the last 2 consecutive years. Quote

CAT was 500 Eu right for 3854 pieces. Liebherr 680 Eu for 2883 pieces both with multiple motors.. This should be 2359 pieces for 400 Eu, I imagine basically new 8043 right? That has 4 motors, I don´t think the sport car hub is enough here? Quote

M_longer Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Hear me out; Only C+ component left is that 2in1 chassis from Porsche. Why do I think that TLG could be so lame and use two of those in a RC excavator? One between the tracks, second in the superstructure, with gearbox like in 8043? I hope not, but it might be sold as RECHARGEABLE! Quote
Aurorasaurus Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Have we ruled out the possibility of using the new porsche hub in the base for the tracks and superstructure, and a brand new different hub for the arm functions? Quote
mpj Posted February 21 Posted February 21 A realistic demolition excavator should have at least 4 or 5 functions in the upperstructure. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Well, let's take a decko at this 🐕: We have the turret rotation, the tilting cab, the boom, the dipper stick, the wrist, the tilt-rotator, and the shear. Oh, and the cab door. Quote

We haven't, but I really doubt that a new hardware component is being developed for Powered Up at this point. Either it'll be two Porsche hubs as I mentioned, or the remaining stock of hubs and motors will be poured in this set instead of selling them individually. Quote

dhc6twinotter Posted February 21 Posted February 21 The excavator sounds promising. $400 seems a bit steep though, especially considering 8043 was $200. Hopefully we get more than six functions and not a large model for the sake of being large (like 42100). Quote
