2GodBDGlory Posted January 26 Posted January 26 That's a very unusual differential! What advantages do you see with it? Quote

What advantages do you see with it? well i created this differential in 2020 or 2021 and att the time the new differential was only in the top gear rally car or in some other expensive and i didnt have money so i created this wich worked about the same way as the top gear rally car without the diff lock:) 21 minutes ago, 2GodBDGlory said: That's a very unusual differential! Auroralampinen Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 And in case you are wondering yes i downloaded and tryed using studio v2 on my computer but i still suck of using any 3d modeling software so all of my builds are builded in real life and that is more fun than just sitting on desk for hours and trying to learn 3d modeling software and getting a million grey hairs because i suck att 3d design software so my builds have always been build with in real life so i will never use anykind of 3d modeling software for desing because that is boring and primitive design process is more fun:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 Progress of the excavator i have now started to thinking some extra attachments for the boom:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Well yesterday i got an crazy idea to build the smallest functional excavator so here is 2 day of building progress:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Well now im starting to be happy with my boom design:) Here is the big excavator and the baby excavator size comparison:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 Well todays progress i had to rebuild the chassis and now its much better and wider:) Quote
Aurorasaurus Posted February 4 Posted February 4 @Auroralampinen I think it would help you a lot to get a bunch of something like this - all the same, so they stack- and sort all your parts into them. Then you can have a much tidier space, and find parts easier. I keep the lids off mine so I can immediately see what I'm looking for, which maybe is the reason you haven't put your parts in boxes yet? Another trick to keep parts off the floor is to add a lip to the edge of your desk. Some cardboard taped in place will work. It only needs to be 1.5 studs high to keep the majority of parts from falling by mistake. Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 Well since everyone is worried about mine piece storage solutions i do have storage solutions i use new lego boxes but still it can become a mess but i like build in mess its fun brain activity to find the right pieces:) Quote

I'm sure other setups could be more efficient, but if you enjoy that kind of environment, I guess it works for you! It certainly does have a fun "mad scientist" aesthetic to it, I think Quote

Stay wild, it's much more fun. My experience is that digital design and precise piece storage allow for more complex designs but take a lot away from the actual play and build experience. Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 Well when i created better version of the 42203 i later on realised that i have created something really big and yes i was right this chassis is opportunities goldmine now i try to make something different with almost the same chassis:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Well i was slightly bored since i didn't have new building ideas so i decided to challenge my self and reverse engineer the my moc countach qv to 3d model in studio:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Well if the countach will ever get instructions the gearbox is not almost the same it has been completely overhauled and fine tuned for better results:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 Well since everyone hates colorvomit inside of lego models. My models are luckily monochromatic and in case you are wondering yes i have to tell the truth when i builded the mini 8043 i needed gears so i had to destroy the countach but luckily i taked photos so i will build the 3d model following those and improving stuff if i release instructions for countach since the original moc countach had few quirks so i the instructions version will have those fixed and the gearbox isin't the same in the instructions version i have improved my skills so the instructions version countach will have improved and finetuned 5+R gearbox:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Well i have got few feedbacks about my instructions yes i know they are complicated and might be impossible and wrong order on some steps im sorry im not a professional studio v2 instructions maker but if the countach will get instructions i will put my best efforts to the countach instructions so they are easy to understand im still learning and i do hear feedback and im open to all kinds of feedbacks and i will try to improve stuff but nobody is perfect everyone has their own weakness and strenghts but we can learn from mistakes and improve stuff and i will put all my efforts in the countach instructions and for future instructions so this experience has been for me a good learning exercise and im so happy to hear the responses and complains of my models and i will fix the issues like on the countach my first model was allright but the instructions model will be even better and fine tuned and in case you are wondering yes i test my models fully when i make the 3d models since i know fully from reading peoples complains of some mocs wich have been done only in studio and not in the real world so i will test everything what i build in 3d in real life to make sure that everything works probebly and the new countach gearbox i have tested many times to make sure it is working and yes i have very huge standards for my construction and building that everything is rocksolid and will not break during playing and thats why my models are slightly overengineered to make sure that everything is fail safe and the model is rocksolid and my young years mocs were not perfect for this but as im now an adult i have learned from those years and i have raised my quality control and standards for robust builds and i have always used very few system stuff in my technic models since i know they are prone to be lose or are not strong enought and will break easily so i have made almost every detaild with only technic to make sure that everything is rocksolid and will not break during play. So have a nice and happy building time during building my mocs and have a nice weekend:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Well now the rear axle is done and i changed the gearings so the instructions model version uses the red differential instead of the yellow differential:) Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 And the og countach moc front suspension was better than the bugatti but it still was a little saggy so the instructions version will include something more heavyduty i have started thinking possible solutions i might use 42156 peugeot le mans car suspension style in the instructions version because that is more strong and it was little weird that the countach rear suspension worked fine and the front kind of fine Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 Well a ton of thought process later now i have countach beefed up front suspension concept done well since 4 springs werent enought hopefully 8 hardsprings are enought to keep front section lifted and not saggy Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Oh, that's an interesting suspension! So I take it the suspension arms go past center and compress those center shocks? I don't think that's a solution I've seen before, at least not in combination with a more normal spring position! Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 More progress on the new front axle and yes this feels much better than the original front axle its responsible and really strong and not anymore feeling a little underpowered so now im really happy that the instructions countach will have better suspension and the instructions countach will not sag like the bugatti chiron;) Quote
