Not officially, but as I think @brickbride's said, that giant shelfwarming Black Panther bust seems like it may have been motivated by the actor's death.

Definitely, but it was also a tie-in set for BP:WF and Boseman‘s passing wasn‘t referred to anywhere on the box, on s@h, or in the instructions. If they didn‘t do it for a set that came out years after an actor‘s death, they‘re not gonna do it for a set that‘s actively being produced while an actor passed away :shrug_oh_well:

Didn’t expect to like it as much as I do! So sleek

batman forever batmobile looks cool, wish it was more than one figure

Yeah, that’s the only major flaw!

I don't really like Batman Forever, but that Batmobile looks terrific. But OMG! $100!

It's also far too big. It's completely out of scale with the figure, and is it also significantly larger than the other recent movie/TV Batmobiles? Kind of a shame that they've not made it consistent, although it would likely be hard to get that car to be even remotely close to accurate at a smaller scale.

I mean it looks cool, but I have no interest now that it doesn't include the villains. Either they'll give us another Forever set (in the near or far future) with the villains included in which batman will obviously appear again, in which case I don't need this set, or they'll never give us the Forever villains, in which case I don't need this Batman. So this has gotta be a pass for me, especially for this price, even though it looks pretty cool.

It does look really good, only one fig is lame and I'm afraid to see the UK price. I'm definitely not getting it though, I already have a fair few Batmobiles and there are other more interesting things coming out.

This is such a stupid end for the theme. Look- it's not a bad set. $100 doesn't even seem like an awful price- not great, but not awful.

The real issue is why this set is being made at all- sure, it doesn't look bad, but why is this the singular set we're getting? A mini-UCS from one of the worst received Batman projects? We've landed in batman fully become a theme aimed at adults- I'm telling you, it's not long before this gets thrown into Icons. And they're not even choosing the popular movies anymore. It's only a matter of time before we have an official Bat-nipple suit and BvS Murder Batmobile.

While BvS is a terrible excuse for a movie indeed like that Batmobile ( though I didn't like the way the guy Zach pretended was Batman used it) so if it was a cheap enough set I might look out for it. A nippled batsuit figure would definitely be something to add to the collection too!

While unlikely it is possible that we get the batman minifig from this set in a magazine, that'd be great. In fact that the Lego batman magazine exists proves in someway they that do still know kids like Batman (at least in Europe anyway) so I can't really see it becoming an icons subtheme. I know you don't get the magazines in the US but they're very Kiddy and I typically immediately recycle the whole thing except the include Lego, but despite having very little to draw from Batman is one of main 'Lego magazines', it's stocked more frequently than the technic, creator, Disney princesses or Jurassic world ones and is about on par with Spider-Man/Avengers ( that one alternates), Ninjago legacy and Friends. The only ones I sticked more frequently are the main Ninjago one, the Star wars one and the Minecraft one.

So what I could almost see happening to the theme instead of becoming just icons is becoming Icons in all but name but with random 4+ sets as well to target the younger demographic, but relatively nothing in terms of regular sets.

We've still got Arkham left to see, no?

Or has it leaked that they've cancelled that set or something, I don't know if that'd even surprise me.

The Forever Batmobile looks fantastic but its a shame the scale isn't consistent with the other movie Batmobiles. Only one minifigure from the film is also disappointing.

Wait.. what? Is LEGO DC getting discontinued after 2025?

It unfortunately wouldn’t surprise me, but where did you hear that?

I didn't mean it was the last set- just that it's how the theme's ended up.

Build looks really good, the interior is looking nice as well. I do wish it was more in scale with other Batmobiles. Getting a new cowl variant is cool as well, hopefully it means we’ll get some more in the future. Not really a fan of the movie, so I won’t be getting but it is a nice set

I hope this set doesn’t spawn a new line of slightly bigger Batmobiles tho 😂 Like if they now do a $100 89 and Tumbler with one fig.

The new marvel wave with all the small buildings combining would be perfect for Gotham. I really hope LEGO take a risk and gives us a proper wave. Wayne Tower, GCPD, Villain hideouts - Bat vehicles chasing down villains in their own wacky vehicles

While the Batmobile does indeed look fantastic, it's so depressing that it's the only retail set we're getting this Summer.

The state of this theme is depressing, because if it was Marvel we'd be getting Gotham expansions, a random 4+ set, some sets based on past movies, and a Superman set.

Unfortunately not likely, D2Cs tend to leak same month or really close to reveal. We should get information about the build and minifigs soon tho 😃

Seeing the dual-molded Bat-cowl recoloured in dark pearl gray and blue is a delight to see. Shame that the Batmobile looks almost minifig-compatible.

Is this the first time that a DC "wave" has enticed no-one here to bite? From the looks of it literally none of us are interested. Even those interested in the concept and appreciate the build are turned off by the price, lack of villains and scale. Might be a complete wash among the users here

Yes this is the first time that they've included 'en' in a DC wave.

I wonder how they’ll reuse it, it would be perfect for an armoured Batfleck or even just an armoured comic Batsuit

The Batmobile looks awesome but, as everyone pointed out, it's at a weird scale - smaller that other UCS Batmobiles, larger than minifigure-scaled ones. This Batman minifigure looks awesome as long as you don't compare it to the actual suit from the movie. The cowl isn't accurate (a shame TLG decided to stick with it), the head is reused, which isn't that good.

You said it. Yet there are still many people out there who only collect for the sake of collecting, so the situation isn't that bad for TLG

Kind of a shame that no one wants this set (including me), because it’s arguably one of their best designed sets in years. It’s just not in scale with the other Batmobiles and the figure selection is incredibly lacking (Riddler and Two Face should have been included, but Robin’s exclusion is inexcusable).

It fits perfect in my LEGO Batmobile themed movie shelf so I'll be getting it. Can see why others don't want it though. Really should have been a UCS set (with a Riddler fig) as it's an interesting design that lends itself to a cool build. So I'm sure we'll get a UCS BTAS one instead that's bland as all hell.

I may get it on sale if it’s close enough in scale to the others. But just based on the first images, it looks massively out of scale with the rest.

I'm going to guess there's a playscale one coming next year with villains? Because it's a unique variant of Kilmer's suit and more of a display model, probably for the anniversary.
