I also find it odd that we haven’t gotten confirmed details for the Quinjet. It’s supposed to have 1,131 pieces, so I would have guessed it would be around $130, but with the 808-pieced Oscorp taking that price, who knows?

I know right? It’s such a tease when they release official photos of select sets from the same wave, just reminds us the pictures of the other sets are ready to be revealed at some point.

It’s been fairly slow news-wise I feel. The summer wave sounds quite strong going by the set names, hopefully not long to go until we get firmer details.

Everything I see about Thunderbolts makes me want sets more.  I might end up eating my words on this- after the first scene of Daredevil *not really* born again, I thought we were getting something on the level of the netflix show, but then it turned out it was an unrelated soft reboot only held together to the netflix show with duct tape and Jon Bernthal- but from everything I've seen and everything I've heard this might actually be marvel's first successful post- endgame movie that is developing new/unused characters rather than relying on infinity saga or pre-mcu greats.

 

I hope at the very least we get a set with the full team in doomsday- I don't want to spend $300 to obtain these guys.

I could Very Much see The Fantasticar being a set for Doomsday. 

Another set I could see for Doomsday is the new Tower that used to be Avengers Tower, but as a set similar to the 2020 Avengers Tower set and the set could potentially include some of the Thunderbolts* Team.

Yeah I've heard lots of positive things too. Looking forward to seeing it in the cinema next week

More info out in the usual place about the Galactus set. Apparently Galactus is a construction figure and everyone but Reed has the same torso. No leg printing. Their powers are just gonna be represented by things they hold like gorilla hands, orange energy blasts, and trans-clear disks or things you stick on their feet like energy blasts and 1x1x5 bricks.

Honestly sounds pretty bad. No idea why Sue has the same torso as Ben and Johnny, much less why they wouldn’t go with a “flame on” version of Johnny. Galactus being what used to be a $30 set is even worse if it really is just him and the figures. $7.50 per minifigure is ridiculous, especially when they all have plain legs and three use the same torso, not to mention probably reused heads. CMF figures don’t cost that much (yet) and they have far more detail. But I guess at least Galactus is not a mech like Antman in the Endgame set, so it could always be worse.

Sounds like they went with the least possible effort they could've put into this set. The minifigures sound super plain, and seeing how they usually handle the construction figures, I'm not putting much hope into Galactus.

Look, at this point I‘m glad we‘re getting a set at all, so the lack of leg printing, most members sharing the same torso, Galactus being a constraction figure, and the faceprints likely being reused doesn‘t even bother me

I’m disappointed but unsurprised. Lego have long since given up on putting 100% into Marvel. I’m apprehensive about Doomsday sets. No flame on Johnny is crazy. No dual legs is poor.
 

What colour do we think the torsos are based on the Thing instruction leak? If it’s Medium Azure then frozone’s legs might do?

Spot on; but to be fair, that female faceprint does remind me of Vanessa Kirby, so it's not that bad. Johnny though...

Yeahhhhh… Not great, but these are likely what we‘re getting  They deserve unique faceprints, but so do other characters that all share the same face, so I‘m not gonna get my hopes up.

Funnily enough, I kept my expectations low and am oddly satisfied with this set. I don’t mind Galactus being a construction figure (it was to be expected). I just hope they get his head shape right.

Though the costumes are different, they’re not so different that Sue, Johnny, and Ben having the same design bothers me. They should have had dual molded legs in my opinion, and from the leaked torso pic, I would be disappointed if they don’t have gloves.

I’m excited we’re getting a new head cap mold for Ben (Lego is going to reuse the crap out of that piece). Only other thing I want for Ben are some white armor to broaden the shoulders so he doesn’t look too awkward with the bulging fists and head.

There was always the possibility (greater in my opinion) that we’d get a normal Johnny with flames accessories. I would one day want Johnny to use the Ghost Rider head mold in the future though.

Transparent disc pieces for Sue are fine. Would’ve liked to have had a translucent leg or two, but I wasn’t holding my breath.

Neat that Reed has his own torso with him being the leader of sorts. Stretchy arms would be fun, but I also didn’t want a Reed that’s perpetually stretching. In the future though, stretchy arms and Avatar legs would be cool.

Shame there’s no HERBIE or Silver Surfer mentioned.

Which is coincidentally the same head they’ll be using for Johnny Storm.

I think it's very funny that only one Constraction theme ever didn't crash and burn horribly and it was an unlicensed one but for whatever reason LEGO is unwilling to ever stop doing these horrible looking branded constraction figures that clog up clearance shelves forever to the point they now shove them in normal sets to desperately try get any of them to sell ever. 

Like I'd get if they were shoving constraction designs into original themes like Ninjago or whatever because people actually miss Bionicle and that theme at some point sold well, no-one misses the Superhero constraction sets but LEGO is ridiculously unwilling to just let them die

I think LEGO sees other super hero action figures selling well and thinks “hey, let’s replicate that” without 1) understanding that if kids want an action figure they will just go buy an action figure that doesn’t take half hour to assemble and then falls apart when you bash two of them together 2) realizing they have an equivalent to action figures that is already popular -  minifigures.

Very similar to how they hamper most of their original themes with app integration now, LEGO does well as it's own thing, being an inferior but more expensive version of something popular pleases no-one. They will never learn this lesson though

If they are going to try and jump on popular trends, like action figures, they need to at make the case for Lego action figures over regular action figures. Focus on how since it’s a brick built action figure, you aren’t limited to just posing them and smashing them together. You can customize it however you want. You want Spider-Man with eight arms? Done. Batman with giant bat wings? Go ahead. Hulk with three heads? Who are we to judge? The possibilities are potentially endless. But they don’t focus on what Lego allows them to do, instead they just sell action figures and hope the Lego brand will drum up enough interest. So now they just have overly expensive action figures that need to be put together and fall apart easily warming the shelves.

Galactus looks great, so much better than I expected. Honestly kind of glad he’s the highlight as it’s unlikely we’ll see him again for awhile. I think the F4 will at least get new variants sooner

Galactus looks fine. The build could be better, the arms and legs look kinda blocky, but it’s got the right colors and I like the head and torso. Not a fan of the Fantastic Four minifigures, hopefully we get comic versions of them in the near future.

I might pick this up on sale for Galactus.

The only thing you got wrong was Mr Fantastic‘s faceprint, he interestingly gets a new one!

Galactus looks a lot cooler than expected!

You know what…. I like it. Galactus is good. Minifigures are alright. I would have added grey to Mr Fantastics hair and given them dual moulded legs but that’s fixable now or in the future depending on what colour blue they are. I’m happy overall.
