If anything, it's evidence that the system version is TCW so they pair together.

Unless you're suggesting the UCS version is based on the TV show.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHA

Oh my god. This is the perfect GWP for this year. Two clones literally no one on the planet asked for alongside young boba, who will have three figures in 4 months. It is literally the perfect description of the year as a whole. I don't even think I can be mad this shows us exactly what lego thinks the theme is. I cannot stop laughing. My neighbors probably think I'm watching Joker.

On the bright side, at least Jango actually will get to be in the system slave one. That's... somehow a win nowadays.

Doubt it- the GWPs don't always correlate to other sets, but when they do it's usually to correlate to the UCS set. This is just here because it's a way to shove clone troopers into a slave one related GWP.

Yeah this GWP seems boring to me, even ignoring all the clone stuff we're getting this year.

I’ve been revisiting the U-Wing pics and the troop compartment appears to be 6 studs long. Which isn’t actually all that shorter than the 2016 model. I reckon you could fit 4 troops in there with some seating modifications.

It actually makes me sad that we may never get a wave as insanely good as RO ever again. So many brilliant sets. And they still have ground from that movie which will likely never be covered. (Cargo Shuttle, Scariff Citadel, Partisan X-Wing, Eadu, Profundity…) it’s a shame. Out of all the Disney movies RO still holds up the best.

I thought the compartment looked like it was 8 studs long but I could be mistaken. I do wish we would get more Rogue One sets. The AT-ACT would be awesome but I don't see that happening anytime soon, especially if 2026 brings us a new AT-AT for the Mandalorian and Grogu movie. I'm still glad we got Saw last year though and seeing the return of K2-SO, Krennic and the Death Troopers this year. I'm curious if Galen also ends up being included in the UCS Death Star.

Could they not? I seem to remember being able to fit loads in the old one. I still think it looks too small. I’m surprised we haven’t been able to get more pictures yet or any of the May sets yet.

The interior space on the old U-Wing wasn't great. There was very little head space and both the turret and hinge for the sliding door didn't really help matters. The previous Andor set did surprisingly make the most of its limited interior space so hopefully the new U-Wing has taken some inspiration from that build.

I thought that had already been established with leakers confirming the inclusion of Jango without arm printing and a Kaminoan minifigure (I'm hoping its Lama Su this time rather than a recycled Taun We or generic Kaminoan)

The GWP is an unexpected choice but I like it. Only downside is that is that revisiting the Boba Fett arc has now really gotten me in the mood for updated minifigures of Aurra Sing and Hondo Ohnaka. Perhaps Lego could revisit Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter some day and include Aurra as the villain of that set?

Dual-moulded leg C-3PO keychain but they couldn't manage it in the Sail Barge? Yeah sure ok whatever I guess. Far beyond me to question the wisdom of the designers.

(Not a fan of the dual-moulded C-3PO anyway since it should be silver not grey, but still...)

At least we can take the leg off the keychain to upgrade C-3PO (if you choose to) just like Luke skywalker.

What if she is actually included in the set? It doesn’t make sense to put 3 same minifigures of Boba just with different hairstyles..

I assume it'll be at most one new headprint for both other clones alongside a new torso used for all three.

Upon reflection this was the only true option remaining for the GWP. Of course it would be a small set with three clones, one of them a character appearing twice at that age in other sets and the other two being generic/obscure ones literally nobody was asking for.

See, this was a set where had it been like Thorn/Doom/Fordo or something I would really have enjoyed it, because as a GWP it's not meant to be for the general buyer but the hardcore fans, so something like that would have been perfect (if obviously too many new prints to be realistic). But that would have been too desirable. Even a pack of three P2 shinies would have been a nice battle pack supplement like last year's droid carrier. A pod with unarmored kid clones was the ultimate evolution of this year, the only way it could ever go.

I highly doubt it. Aside from the fact that I feel the leakers would have mentioned it, this is a GWP. Aurra would require a new mold, not to mention at least two more new prints, and I can't see that budget going to a GWP.

Updated my profile picture for a bit coming off a joke I made to a friend of mine, I think it summarizes my thoughts on the current state of the theme well, so I won't bring it up as much unless/until we get new info.

A post by @legok_daily on Instagram shows the new Sith Eternal Palpatine and his double-sided head, the back of which is a scared/shocked expression. I kind-of understand why they chose that, but I feel like a more neutral grimace like the other Palpatine heads would have been preferable.

Actually very interesting that's based off a very specific TCW episode, potentially opening the door for other characters and scenes that might not make sense as more generic clone wars sets.

I mean if they're gonna stick to a TCW focus can they please make the coolest Character in the show Mother Talzin?

I get that the characters aren't that interesting, but how is no one else excited about the fact we are getting actual unique figures in a may the 4th GWP again. It may not be what you would have hoped for but at least it's moving in the right direction

It was only a two-year stretch without them, with Aunt Beru in 2022, so it wasn't super concerning. Especially since whilst the 2024 GWP didn't have exclusive figures it was still a pretty good GWP overall with a metric ton of droid figures.

All these clones and still no TK Troopers or Commandos. That being said none of those figures seem super desirable so people won't be missing out on too much.

Nice to hear about the Republic Escape Pod and the five Boba's  Boba and the four Clone Cadets :sweet:
I wonder if this opens up any potential for Kamino-based sets, featuring the scene from AotC.

Also, I don't think I can manage that $160 threshold, but hey

Unfortunately the main issue holding back both characters is that GWP sets don't include new molds. The only way we're getting these two is in a proper retail set.

On the bright side we are finally getting a new Ventress figure after a decade long absence so hopefully she can open the door for more TCW villains to show up over the coming years including Aurra and Talzin.

Honestly, I think this is a decent GWP. It's unique and provides a couple of new obscure figures without being so desirable that it will sell out and get scalped instantly(I hope) and it pairs well with the May 4th UCS as well. I'm also just really happy to see so much love this year for Jango, Boba and the Firespray. The price threshold is high, but I was already planning to get the UCS Jango Fett's Slave I anyway so this will just be a nice little bonus.

New Andor trailer dropped. Love the aesthetic of the ISD klaxons throughout the trailer. Really highlights how this is documenting the beginning of the end for the Empire.

But… seriously Lego? The U-Wing and K2S0 was the best you could do instead of another 50 clone sets?!

I’m seeing: ITT, Gozanti, Tie Avenger, Fondor Haulcraft, Partisan X-Wing, Army Troopers, Stormtroopers… all of which would make great set potential compared to Season 1. Yet we’re somehow getting 3 different Republic Starfighter variants, and 10 different Clone variants (excluding multiples) instead.

I agree but also with the Lego shows they do hold things back for future waves especially for things SW would say that are spoilers. We are getting an Ahsoka bp years after it came out. I have a feeling January will give us more. Am I right and there is no new SW until Mando and Grogu? If so there is potential for more sets

ANOTHER CLONE SET? I can pass. Unless the Oynx Cinder goes on sale at LEGO.com for 30% off like the Ghost last year, I can’t see myself buying anything May the 4th.

Let me pull a Twitter and fact check you (I dislike the phrase but this GwP has pushed my sanity off into Beggar’s Canyon):

2022: Aunt Beru’s kitchen had one “new” minifig with an exclusive torso piece.

2023: In the DS we had a rare multiversal appearance of Ninjago’s Christofern, who acted as the DS laser. (Hope someone appreciates the joke.)

2024: B1 Troop Carrier had a B1… Captain? Pilot? Anyway, the blue B1 had an exclusive print on its torso.

So, in 2025, we’re getting three kids who are supposed to be identical, who will use the same NEW! torso print, and maybe we get an alternate expression for one of the clones. Still, at the unlikely best case scenario we get three new prints, which isn’t too far off from what we’ve gotten in past years. This isn’t a time for celebration; it’s a time to consider… WHY? I MEAN, THIS IS ROTS AND TFA ANNIVERSARY YEARS, NOT TEMUERA MORRISON’S 70TH BIRTHDAY. (The man is turning a happy 65th this years, congrats.) THERE IS ZERO REASON FOR THIS YEAR OF CLONES OTHER THAN THE RANDO CLONE TROOPER LEGIONS IN A FLASHBACK SEQUENCE THAT ONLY LASTED SEVEN MINUTES AT BEST!

At least there’s a lot of people here who are happy.

Frankly, I'd say I was joking, but at this point I really wasn't. It's not a bad choice for a lromo or anything tbh, but I can't really take LEGO Star Wars seriously anymore.

I mean it's pretty clear that lego has been conned into thinking there's not a market for OT playsets. This would have been a perfect year to throw some generic imperial vehicles like the Gozanti or ITT out there to coast on the Andor hype a bit without explicitly tying them in and therefore leaving it a bit more open. But yeah, no, take your GWP of unarmored clone children, because that IS the year.

That's not really applicable here. For one thing, we didn't get any spoiler sets for TBOBF, Andor S1 (Or sets at all for acolyte), and I don't think we'll be seeing spoiler sets for skeleton crew. If lego doesn't think a show based set would do well with kids, they won't bother making one. With andor especially I don't think it's the type of show that's going to have spoiler set material. But just as importantly, everything CC mentioned was in the trailer. They wouldn't be spoiler sets any more than the U-wing.

It's 50% off at my walmart so I wouldn't dismiss any potential sales. I wish I'd seen that Ghost discount :/.

If we're pulling a Twitter, now you'd be Community Noting him, so you don't even have to use the phrase "fact check"!

But yes, your point is correct, exclusive prints never really left. We had one year that skipped one and it wasn't even last year.

You bring up a good point there as well. Aside from the fact that many of the clone sets aren't technically ROTS based (which is splitting hairs but bears mentioning), this is an ROTS anniversary year without... literally any major ROTS character. No ROTS Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, Grievous, Dooku, Yoda, or Palpatine. At best you have the clone wars version of Anakin being more or less the same, but he's in the least "squint and it's basically ROTS" of the sets. It's all just vessels to include more clone trooper figures.

Yeah the brand is essentially becoming a more successful version of lego DC's "there are no DC characters beyond Batman, the Joker, and maybe Harley Quinn" theme. Except instead of ensuring we get a Batman and Joker figure based on every conceivable media source instead of any other characters, we get every conceivable variant of Jango Fett 's DNA.
