Is the Christmas tie fighter a real rumor?  I had thought it was an April fools joke but have seen some of the updates talking about it as a rumor.  If it’s a real rumor cool.  
 

also does that count to getting an OT set and maybe figures?

Agreed! The black boxes may highlight the product more, but they’re also very soulless and corporate-looking. No doubt Lego are saving a lot of money not making proper box art for the 18+ sets.

The Prisoner-with-Job 1 looks phenomenal, especially with the rounded profile and increased seating in the cockpit area. The Seismic Charge is also a fantastic touch. I’m curious to see how many people will hold off on getting this until getting an idea of what the playscale one will be like, however at this point I’m 80% sure I’ll be going for this.

Also, I miss getting huge info dumps from Promobricks around this time of year  Can’t wait for full set descriptions of the summer wave to see if any positive surprises are in store.

It probably counts in the same place the other Christmas figures go, but unfortunately the rumour is only 1 figure. Safe bet is either a Tie Pilot or Darth Vader and the figure would be Christmas themed.

love the look of the Slave 1 brings me back to memories of the Slave 1 ship toy I had when the film first came out. Had I not just bought the Shire and Barad Dur set i might have picked it up. Hoping the one in the summer comes out as well as this one.

I am excited to see/hear about any set discounts for May the 4Th, I am not interested in a lot this year (although the slave 1 does look really good) but there are a few things from last year I am hoping have some sort of discount.

The whole ""controversy"", which precisely zero people ever cared about until they changed the name on the 2021 set, is ridiculous. And if they really wanted to avoid the name (for who knows what reason) then using the proper classification would've been much better.

Yup. This is a spineless and stupid move by lego, born of taking a spineless and stupid approach to anything that could be seen as remotely controversial. We don't have an official reason in canon- because disney's afraid of words- but in legends it was named the Slave 1 because Jango took it from his captors after being kept as a slave. 

For the inevitable people going "it's just a word on a sticker it doesn't matter", last time it was just what's on the packaging, now it's something that's part of the actual product. Would you agree with us never getting a Watto again because his character was a slave owner? It's just a bit of plastic, it doesn't matter. What about Poggle or any upper-caste Geonosians, given their unfair caste system you could draw real-world comparisons to? What about the other massive amount of star wars characters who have done terrible things that could correlate to real world crimes. Bariss Offee bombs a religious site in an act of terrorism, for example. Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader torture a teenage girl. Mando is racist to droids- we don't want to encourage racism, so clearly we can't have anything to which a correlation to real-world negative events can be made, since that would clearly mean we're endorsing that negative thing.

Absolutely not IMO- sounds like it only has one figure, who is assumably christmasified, and of course the ship is a christmas tie. It's not any more OT than Jedi Cad Bane in the tiny tank set is PT.

Lego's started putting their releases out much closer to release date than they should be, in my opinion. Less than a month for a system set is absurd.

 

Slave One looks good, name aside. Solid update to the 2015 model. Having the 2015 model, I'm not going to drop $300 on the less iconic color scheme, but for those who couldn't find it secondhand relatively close to retail, or prefer Jango's color scheme, this is a great choice.

Model looks tremendously good. I'll can see the three seats, but I'm looking forward to whether or not more of the interior will be present. Regarding the name, I'm sure someone could whip up custom printed tiles with the correct name. That's what I'm banking on at least.

If this is a hint, the only thing that I can think of is the RTG tiny tank having the figs swapped out for Mando ones. Considering the leaked figs included 2 OCs, and the juggernaut drivers would imply the return of the Tank Driver or Tx-225 driver... this would not be unwelcome.

Oh this would be amazing. Also, Mando S2 drivers would mean a torso perfectly suitable for standard Imperial Army Troopers (I have 32 of the ones from 75211 but a few more wouldn't hurt, and maybe they could reuse them in an Andor set if I keep all of my fingers and toes crossed).

Of course it could also just be face-value (yeah I know it's Renown so maybe there is a super cool message in there after all lol) about how a bunch of people have been banned for sharing the Slave 1 (ahem, starship) leak and just happened to pick this quote since it means people might not be able to rely on Instagram and such now. LEGO seems to be a lot more on it with this set in particular so maybe they have a really cool reveal planned.

The people that make the decision at Disney/Lucasfilm to not use "Slave 1" is generally made by middle management. Most bad decisions are made by middle management. This is because they shoehorn their sensibilities in to projects without paying any mind to anything else since they don't have to answer to shareholders or have a boat-load of stock.

@Renown is right. I've been noticing a resurgence in people turning to forums instead of Instagram/TikTok and whatever else the youngsters are using today. The forum format is just built to last longer.

Can’t clickbait people on a forum. The most annoying Instagram and tiktokers aren’t on here as well. What’s better about forums is there are no algorithms only showing you what they think you want to see. Here you often see opinions that you wouldn’t otherwise see because of the tribal nature of social media algorithms and that leads to “mostly” healthy debate

On here we have a nice healthy discourse and debate. Social media is mostly spam. What annoys me the most is the Youtubers who I know use to follow leaks and read these threads purely as a hobby, now tagging their own posts as leaks when they are nothing of the sort because they know how annoying it is to have the hashtag full of spam.

Forums have always been and I expect always will be my preferred medium for discussion. We went through a period of being quite entitled about leaks but I believe the crowd here has matured a lot over the last few years. You're a good crew and am pleased I can share this space with you all. Some of you have even met me in person.

I'm not active on there but pleased Reddit has seen a resurgence in community use in recent years but, as a platform, it's by and large a cesspit I use a throwaway on. I only use Instagram to keep tabs on who is next to get nuked. Discord is the only other platform I honestly enjoy using. I use different handles across Instagram, Discord and here to try and ensure nobody ever cottons on who I am.

Yeah my thoughts as well,  it's a cool set but not enough for me to essentially have two of the same ship. The plaque being wrong and boba's hair are also very disappointing, the build seems very well done though.
