I guarantee there are significantly more guys out there who'd pick up a Turbo Tank than the UT-AT. Me among them- this would be interesting.Figure choice is a bit odd, but think about it this way- I think if it leaked as a turbo tank from the start, people really wouldn't be that mad.

What is it with lego and extremely random snowspeeder variants?

As I said above I think this is actually a win for most people, and that if it hadn't originally leaked as a UT-AT there'd be almost no backlash.

To be fair this is a massive win for turbo tank fans, goes from a $50 tiny tank to a $150 actual set. But yes, a loss for UT-AT fans.

Remaking the Turbo Tank is 100% correct but they’ve now effectively sealed the fate for ever making a UT-AT😶. Also if you’re going to make a Turbo Tank just make it themed after the 327th and make the 327th Battlepack a Galactic Marines Battlepack. That would’ve been a far better solution to this problem. 

Now that we know it’s a turbo tank it also means that it’s an even BIGGER downsize from the 2016 version yet costs 5 dollars more than that version with 100 less pieces! Literally 100 less pieces than the already undersized previous turbo tank now including completely inaccurate figures and a ridiculous unjustified price.

Sure, I mean that's fair, but all things considered pretty minor. The Galactic Marines are thrown into a set where they don't fit with the build whether it's the SBP or the tank, and while I think the 327th pack is very poorly made, in concept I think their legion makes a lot more sense for a battle pack.

Ok, it's like $3.5 more for 73 fewer pieces. Not great, but again, c'mon. In a $150 set, $3.5 and 73 pieces warrant this much vitriol?

The last turbo tank was already undersized and overpriced compared to 2005/2010 this new one just compounds that even more.

So now that makes two sets where I want the minifigures but couldn’t care less for the build. Both the Clone Turbo Tank and the MTT have these long desired mini figures in Bly, Galactic Marines, and Bacara but with undesired builds. So frustrating…

It's high time for a Snowspeeder remake with a new bespoke windscreen. Do I expect this Hot Rod T-47 to have a new bespoke windscreen? No.

No UT-AT. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

My quess is that (1) Lego don’t want the set being 100% connected to order 66 , and (2) the turbo tank is more recognizable. I get it, and I’ve never owned any of the turbo tank, so I can live with that. But still, UT-AT looks cooler to me, and I really want to see Lego do a new vehicle. 

But hey, maybe someday we’ll get UT-AT with commander Gree/Kashyyyk scout troopers/ Yoda !!

The only reason I defended this summer wave was because the UT-AT and the marines were going to be new and something never done before. Now it’s just a turbo tank it’s harder for me to defend Lego being so clone focused now. I’ll warm to the idea eventually but right not I’m really disappointed in Lego. I wonder if they will disappoint us more by doing a red tank to match the legion. 

just feels like it’s a £150 battle pack. ATM I think it’s no longer a day 1 purchase for me just going to probably get the MTT.

did the marines ever appear in a turbo tank? I just do not get the decision just have to see what it looks like. 

With the snowspeeder be interested in the look of it but again would wait for a discount. The rumour say a Green duros could that not just be a different species? Like a neimdoian? Wonder if the hot rod is red/yellow like the Lego logo in the same mannner the droid from the tie vs x wing was red/yellow for Lego

At this rate it’ll be a AT-TE with Gree and the scout troopers but it won’t be based on Kashyyyk. The UT-AT was unique im gutted we aren’t getting one. 
 

I don’t think it’s because of Order 66 when we got a set from it last year with Grogus escape. I think there is another surprise with this set going to wait for the pictures now. 
 

also I wonder if this turbo tank will come with a mini at-rt in red and continue the new trend of walkers in legion colours

I like the sound of the Turbo Tank more the UT-AT ( I love the juggernauts) however I don't particularly want the galactic marines and so unless the build is truly amazing for the price I don't think it'll go on my list.

I'd say that a green Duros minifigure is good news, since they were green when first introduced in ANH. Would be useful for my project 

Turbo tank instead of UT-AT is a great disappointment indeed. I don't remember any Turbo tanks on Mygeeto when Mundi was killed

I’ll be honest. I think a TBBS3 Turbo Tank with all Clone Force 99 members (Except Tech) and a couple of TK troopers would have been a better choice than this. But still, I’m happy for those who are happy.

There’s also bound to be more playable characters if this is truly SW X-COM. So that’s going to be interesting to see.

I feel like the Jedi might have a green lightsaber specifically because they’re a Consular. And therefore there may be an additional Jedi Guardian class with a blue lightsaber.

On the one hand, I‘m happy to have a CTT not based on the Battle of Kashyyyk since that one has been overdone over the years, so this is kinda refreshing. On the other, RIP UT-AT  And there goes our only new vehicle this year.

The hot rod snowspeeder sounds pretty fun, but having a random duros instead of Jedi Cad Bane is a lame choice.

Kinda weird we have yet to see a U-Wing anywhere, considering it‘s what they went for with the set! Especially compared to the TIE Avenger (?), which is all over the marketing.

As another Brit, try B&M as well, Argos/sainsburys are ok at times as well they often do new BP on a 2for30 deal(which is like a mix and match for toys of any brand). Smyths is good for the big sets on sale. There is a site called Yottabrick which compiles all Lego sets and what prices they are at the shops. Often use it to spot when good deals are on.

Oh, well. At least it has Commander Bacara and Galactic Marines in one set.

Probably not.
However, we are under the assumption that something of the Sequels would sell at all. I personally believe, albeit on gut feeling and nothing else, that “playing the hits” would be viably successful, which is what TLG has set out to do already. At any rate, Sequel sets are back on the table. This being the case, though, I believe that among those who enjoy the Sequels are more likely AFoLs, who appreciate LEGO as a toy as much as a display piece, than the casual fans, who attracted to the random 18+ set.

Clone Turbo Tank sounds great. No idea if, much less how, it’ll be worth $150 USD, but I look forward to it. I would’ve found Galactic Marines in a BP and Kashyyyk troopers with Wookiees in the Turbo Tank more interesting to me, but the later has been done plenty of times. A UT-AT still would’ve been cooler, but we’re at least past the whole “vehicle with only twelve seconds of screentime in the entire expanse of Star Wars gets one of the biggest playsets of the year” ordeal.

No, the UT-AT’s fate was sealed when Lucasfilm and TLG together decided not to make it way back in 2005. What was made that year were the Jedi Interceptor, ARC-170, and Clone Turbo Tank, all of which have or are returning twenty years later. The UT-AT wasn’t seen as a marketable enough toy then, and that hasn’t changed in the two decades since. Like what you like—please do—but even I know I’ll never see the legendary Commander Doom, and we’d be very lucky to get a wave of Blacktron M:Tron sets nowadays.

Forgot about that. Maybe that even BB fans like me have moved on is the reason why TLG chose otherwise. That said, I love the idea; I do love me some Bad Batch, S2/S3 Hunter is a cool look, and we are in need of Republic Crosshair to round out the OG crew.

 

Hot Rod Snowspeeder? The only thing that it could intrigue me with would be a new windscreen; if Ahsoka’s Interceptor got one, maybe this can too? Otherwise, $50 is too much for me, not even mentioning that the described colourway and minifigs don’t sound interesting.

TLG does have the rights to NASA minifigs, so, in Mark Hamill’s words, it’s possible.

(I just rewatched the cantina scene, and seeing a Space Race spacesuit reminded me of just how upset George was by the budget constraints on Star Wars. Makes me forgive the amount of tweaks he made… well, until we arrive at the Jabba ANH scene.)

Yeah I'll say that's the one disappointing thing about this news for me- sort of like the evil falcon, this sets the clock back a bit on when our next normal snowspeeder can be, and the snowspeeder could really use an update.

I hope they're all this cool- I feel like a lot of games recently have forgotten how to make cool character designs. Marvel rivals started to turn it around with the superheroes actually looking superhuman (seriously, even "powerless" characters like punisher have arms wider than the average person's head), and this game also looks like it's remembered with every single person in this image, even if they end up doing nothing in-story, looking Boba Fett levels of cool. (Did Boba Fett invent aura farming? Just sitting there doing nothing but looking so cool people want to buy his action figures?)

Yes, exactly. The turbo tank is just so much more well known, and for everybody complaining it's overdone, it has been nine years. No child who was in that 6-12 age range when it first came out is still in it today.

As always, the release of any project was the best chance for more obscure sets based on it.

Honestly it's possible so long as they keep rotating factions in Icons.

I was going to make a comment saying "using the wrong name aside" and then reiterate that the set looks good, but man, that article shows how stupid "Jango Fett's starship" is with the author trying to come up with different ways to say it while avoiding the ship's actual name- "A starship owned by jango fett" doesn't really roll off the tongue compared to, you know, Slave One. C'mon, disney. Especially if the rumors about Andor S2 are true, you can't pretend the name of the ship is some sort of breach of star wars's maturity level.

I really didn‘t care for him in S1 (and particularly his never-ending cereal munching scenes), but this is an interesting development to me, because A) going from creepy stalker to rescuer to lover is certainly a choice, and B) one will 100% betray the other at the end  The tensions are already there in the clip!

You‘re ready to burn his minifig already, but imagine what you will do if he turns out to be the one to cause her downfall

The Kamino GWP is £145 threshold.

This suits me as I was planning on getting the U-Wing, Clone vs Droid, Mandalore Ambush and Dropship vs Speeder to bolster my forces and for double VIP points anyway.

Observe how the dark side grants an aura farming proficiency.
