LEGO Star Wars 2025 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

What in the Lego Star Wars universe... That's gotta be the weirdest AC i have ever seen. It contains almost no true minifigures, just droids. So, there is your theme, i guess. 

And just after i was talking about new characters to be included to fill the gapes, it actually happens with a sequel character, which probably blew the whole budget of this thing, so classy. Be careful what you wish for, i suppose. 

Good for those hungry sequel guys who want it. Seriously, fair play to you guys. For me, it will be a deep discount. 

Okay, i take back everything i just said about the AC being the weirdest ever. Upon further inspection, it includes yet another specialized GONK droid and is therefore G.O.A.T.E.D.

I've got mixed feelings on the AC, a lot of cool droid builds ( B2!!!) and the new Babu plus another BD-1 and a white BB8!  but on the other hand only 2 proper minifigs is kinda pathetic, the HP one has 8 minifigs!?!!!!

Same here! But when I got through I had terrible trouble actually placing an order. I'm still in Japan but I was ordering on the UK website for it to be sent to my house. Couldn't get a text to authorise my card and PayPal was playing up but I managed by pay by buying and then using a 3 gift cards. Phew.

The AC is... interesting. Not sure how to feel about it. On the one hand- new mold in an AC, and I'm counting 4-5 new prints? And a character with Arm Printing? More than the norm. On the other hand.... two minifigures and a microfig? In an AC? That's absurdly low. The harry potter one has eight. EIGHT. And it's not like the repeats are why- most of the calendar figs are repeats anyway.

Very double-edged sword- a new mold, but at the expense of the vast majority of the figure count. our first Jawa in what, 7 years? But it's got the sweater so it's not usable as a normal one. (This is a me problem, I just have an affinity for the Jawas) 

Also- why is this where the sequel presence is coming in? No Kylo or Poe minifigures in half a decade, but god forbid the public is deprived of Babu Frik and a recolored BB unit. (Happy Frik is out there now, of course, but still a weird choice. I wonder if we're getting Anzellens in TMAG sets next year and they moved one up to use for the AC.)

Being completely honest, this calendar has me about 5x as excited as I was for the last one.

The last one had only sweater versions of Luke and Leia (pretty uninteresting to get as figures at this point) and other characters that I already had, and heaps and heaps of micro ships, which while cool (especially how they were following the 25 year history of LEGO Star Wars), are the least interesting parts of ACs to me because they don't serve any purpose in my collection beyond December. My favourite parts of ACs are exclusive holiday variants, exclusive non-holiday characters, builds that interact with the figures (like in 2021 and 2023), and buildable droids (especially GONK!!!).

This one has an exclusive holiday figure, AN EXCLUSIVE CHARACTER WITH A NEW PIECE YAYAYAY, a C-3PO with reused parts from a set that I didn't want to buy so ALSO YAYAY, some neat little workshop builds that I can either put with Babu and Zorii or my Sandcrawler, a few reused droids that I don't mind getting doubles of, and 13 other droids!!!!!

This is quite possibly the 2nd most exciting Star Wars set of the year for me personally, I'm going to have so much fun for this in December. The last calendar was alright, but the ships got a bit boring and they're not super fun once they're built imo. This year, I'm excited for every single day.

It's in a book that's out at retailers already. I was going to just give you the walmart link but I think my account would get flagged for adding a purchase link. But rest assured, it's out there. I'm sure forum members already have him in their collections.

I don't know if sequel sets would do all that well, but I think they at least deserved a real chance with a minifig set, especially since the demo most likely to be interested is kids. Whatever your opinion on them- and remember, I despise TLJ and don't think TROS was all that good either- it's not Acolyte or Tales or a random episode of visions. It's a literal third of the skywalker saga and it's weird that we haven't had a big chunk of the core characters availible for over half a decade.

Which kids are we talking about here? The ones that watched the Sequels a decade ago? If their parents didn't already buy the sets for them at the time they're at the age now where most of them own a Facebook account and can buy the sets well below their original retail price on Marketplace and Buy/Sell groups. They don't need to be a diehard AFOL familiar with Bricklink for that. The kids growing up today? The Sequel characters aren't going to be as relevant to them. Their Star Wars is going to be whatever the latest fad coming out of Disney is which these days tends to be the Mandalorian and Grogu. And to be fair we do have an affordable set including Rey, Finn and BB-8 available with that Millennium Falcon Holiday diorama and nobody was touching it even during the Christmas season.

For all the hatred the Sequel Trilogy gets the films do still have a strong passionate adult fanbase, especially where the Last Jedi is concerned. Focusing on display models targeted towards them at this point in time is going to be a safer option for Lego than chasing a younger audience that isn't currently there.

This was me, and I'm almost an adult now. All of the sequels came out when I was in primary school, and I received most of my sequel sets as gifts but bought a few of them myself a little later on. I'm well capable of buying the sets myself if I can afford them after buying current sets on the aftermarket, but also have been well aware of Bricklink for a while, it's definitely accessible to people around my age who are at all involved with LEGO.

To be honest, the sequels aren't my favourite, but I'd definitely buy an actual new sequel set if they made one (don't care in the slightest about the new Kylo's helmet and shuttle sets), as long as they actually provided something new, like Exegol or a TIE Whisper.

I agree with you guys. It’s a very marmite AC.

@BrickBob Studpants I’m happy for you. But I don’t think this one is for me. But… B2EM0 MENTIONED! LEGO ACKNOWLEDGED OTHER ANDOR CHARACTERS!

(Only buildable droid I’d actually consider buying if it happened)

Very mixed feelings about the AC. Looks as though they’ve gone for a bit more of a Harry Potter approach as I think this is the first year we don’t have any micro builds of the ships/vehicles but rather builds for the workshop. Some nice things in there like Ahsoka’s droid and B2. A part of wishes they’d included a TPM or AOTC C3PO rather than the ROS one but I suppose this one fits a bit better in the context of the calendar.

The advent calendar actually has a lot of useful parts and builds, but at a glance it just looks sort of visually uninteresting, I could see this one going on sale a bit faster than the previous ones.

Really surprising Advent Calendar, because they actually have a theme this year—droids! It delivers in full, because when it comes to droids, that's a fantastic set. So much variety, so many cool pieces.

Babu Frik and B2EMO are huge surprises, I adore both of them.

Buzz droid? That Treadwell from Ep IV? Fixed-up B-1 with a backpack? Snowy BB-8? Red-eyed Threepio? Probe droid? A new B-1 droid to go with my guy from the N-1?! R7 from the Interceptor? A Jawa with a lovely sweater? BABU FRIK! WE GOT THE BABU FRIK AT LAST! HA-HA! I LOVE THIS!

I like the idea of the advent calendar being themed. But I don’t like the droid theme.

The AC is easily my favourite one yet (even without BABU FRIGGIN FRIK), but I also love the paradigm shift with new pieces introduced in ACs, and not just the SW one (see the Xmas tree suit in the City one)  ACs having enough of a budget for that could have quite some potential for the future!

So the only sets I'll buy are Plo Koon's Microfighter and the Night Trooper BP.

Very pleasantly surprised by the Advent Calendar - specifically the inclusion of Babu, a BD unit, and B2-EMO. I doubt they’d produce a specialised mould for an AC so I’m wondering if we can expect an Anzellan in a TMAG set next year.

Plus it’s been 3 years since the BD unit figure was last used, I wonder if they’re bringing the mould back ahead of a potential Survivor set next year?

Watching Duckbricks’ review, I’m LOVING the new Plo minifigure. The updated head mould is brilliant.

Ok I'm kinda on the fence. Babu Frik is cool to get (hate TRoS but new aliens are always nice) but other than that there isn't really anything I care about. All the builds being minifigure-scale is indeed nice... but they still feel a bit pointless. At least with microbuilds you can have an X-wing and a TIE fighter. Here you have... a tool rack... and... oh look another tool rack. 

Also R7-A7 is a bit of a weird choice imo. Would've preferred a new body with a gimmick head where it can be switched for the one in Plo's microfighter (akin to R2-X2 in 2014). Maybe a reindeer head since it's brown. 

Can't tell from these photos what colour the markings on the BD droid are. I hope they're not blue since I already have 2 of the version from Mando's N-1 lol

I don't hate it overall, but was definitely hoping for more minifigures, whether new designs like how in the past we got TLJ Luke and Blue Leader, or reuses like an ISB trooper. Is it still going to cost the same as the previous ones? If so that's a ripoff. 

Also the large image on reddit with all the builds together actually only shows 23 of them but I think the missing one is the buzz droid so no secret surprises

I am on board with this.  That Tie Avenger would be a sweet set.  and it should come with a range trooper (just going off trailers, no spoilers)

I am only buying three sets this year, Home One, U-wing, and probably the Death Star.  I think some other sets are well executed, but I am just not excited about most of them.

I like the idea, and the theme of droids, I hope they continue this with future ACs, like Empire AC would be awesome.  I just wish they had an extra astro mech or protocol droid to get more mini figures.

I somewhat appreciate them having a consistent theme like this, but only two actual minifigs it's a bit disappointing. I won't be buying it.
