Finished Andor yesterday, so I guess that means I have to buy the U-Wing now :hmpf:.

It’s definitely weird that we’re almost in June and still don’t have at least full descriptions of the summer sets. Information is being leaked at a glacial pace.

Yeah I was just thinking about this the other day. I'll admit that perhaps my memory is just failing me (when you keep up with Lego leaks for over a decade it all starts to blend together), but I feel like usually we'd have at least more concrete details by now? We're still getting new information about what comes in the summer sets and that's cool but I guess I wish we could just see them already considering how close they are.

They just can't win with 327th coloring. Either it's the mustard troopers or the yellow isn't dark enough.

And maybe some day... you will admire the minifigure of said fictional character. After the surprising Darth Malak inclusion from last year, i am inclined to say that anything is possible at this point.

Add it to the list of Jedi minifigures Lego has never done... yet. Not necessarilly an acusation, more of a observation.

Day #19 of asking Lego not to bugger the upcoming Clone Turbo Tank.

Hopefully Jedi minifigures will become a regular occurrence in sets again. We're off to a great start this year with Plo Koon, Ki-Adi-Mundi and Aayla Secura that it would be great if the trend continues over the coming years. There's plenty of characters I'd like to see both never done before (Oppo Rancisis, Yaddle, Yarael Poof, Adi Gallia, Depa Billaba) and those needing remakes (Kit Fisto, Shaak Ti, Saesee Tiin, Even Piell, Eeth Koth, Agen Kolar)

And who knows? Maybe with enough characters in production Lego might be motivated to finally release a Jedi Council diorama or MBS Jedi Temple set someday?

No, you're right.  There's definitely been a clamping down on leaks.  4-5 years ago, we'd have pretty much had descriptions and fairly complete minifigure lists, and then usually one or two sets would've been officially revealed in April/May, with leaks coming near the end of May/start of June.  I don't know who else remembers, but in either 2020 or 2021, they did a that virtual LEGO convention, and half of the Internet was mad because the reveals were of stuff that already leaked (outrage that I thought was really dumb, because...the whole point is leaks is that they aren't supposed to be out in public, so of course they're going to still reveal the stuff anyway).

Now?  We've got a few sets that we still weren't even 100% sure what they were until like a week ago.

Oh yeah I completely forgot about that online con thing, I remember being surprised anyone expected anything from it lmao. I guess that's probably why they axed it, but yeah at this point it honestly might be at least a little exciting now that they're getting better at keeping things under wraps.

It’s an odd one because the images are there and ready. You wouldn’t have a September set (advent calendar) ready before an August wave. Then the fact that K2S0 set is ready and revealed. You wouldn’t rush one and not just have the rest ready. The final designs would have been finished a while now because you got to manufacture the pieces and I can’t see that being a quick process. And certain info needs to go to retailers to see if they want to have those sets in stores and again that kind of thing is done months in advance.

imo it comes down to one of two things. One Lego is trying to clamp down on leaks so the usual sources who give out the specific info don’t have the access anymore so that’s why it’s so incomplete on details. Or two the leakers who’ve got the info are trying to drip feed the info for more engagement (likes/follows on social media). It could be a combo of both, I could understand more if the summer wave was for an upcoming film/series and they wanted to keep it really quiet but there are none of those sets.

Then also maybe in the past few years set info (number and name) has come out so early that there is no way you can know a final figure list you can only guess which is probably how the UT-AT rumor came from.

It’s harder because we’ve known what sets are going to be for so long with no info, sometimes I’d rather wait a little longer to get the sets names and all the info but that’s just me

I fundamentally agree with everything you just said. Like implied, the possibilities between old minifigure remakes and brand new characters are nearly endless. And yes, given Lego's tendency to prioritize Clone Troopers over anything else, going back to the topic that TCW overkill doesn't necessarily mean PT fans are eating good as well, we are indeed off to a good start this year. I am already so happy with the incredibly improved Plo Koon head mould... it's just a thing of beauty.

Getting more Jedi again should extend to receiving more main characters as well. Even there, things got better by now. The last couple years we got the most detailed version of Mace Windu yet, finally a modern, non TCW rendition of both Palpatine and Padme, the best Qui-Gon and an unfortunate looking Darth Maul. This year we already got TCW Anakin and Ahsoka, while TCW Kenobi and Ventress are on the way. Now Lego needs to find and count on the Dooku button somewhere in their office again.

As far as the Master Builder Series format goes... I would already be satisfied if Lego would actually do something with it again in the first place. Except if it's not to my liking, then I don't care. :head_back:

I might have missed it but I haven’t seen any you tubers/tik tokers with any of the June sets yet, except for an American girl with all the Harry Potter sets. Normally they all get the sets a couple weeks before any wave comes out. Only wanted to get better look at some of the sets especially the prize machine and the BP

I don't know about the price machine but Duckbricks has had a video of the june SW sets up for weeks now- I think Ashnflash has as well.

Admittedly, I guess the color is difficult to pull off.
I remember it being corn yellow, but seeing those pictures, it seems indeed rather mustard-y, even brown-ish.
Then again, that's based on the Felucia scenes, which is a dark environment/night-time scene, so I guess lighting plays a large part...

Mitch

Maybe the “algorithm” changed and they don’t want me to see such videos any more lol I’ll have to have a proper look and stop being so lazy.

That seems likely to me.  I know in the past that there's been reliable leakers on Instagram or Eurobricks who have drip fed info and they've alluded to not being able to reveal specific things until certain times - why, who knows, but I'd imagine it might have to do with not revealing their sources (maybe after X date, some stuff becomes more known within LEGO employees, so therefore it's less obvious who leaked it if the stuff comes out to the public beforehand, something like that?).

jdubbs was one that would often do this, but he'd do stuff cryptically, generally feeding info way before other leakers on Instagram or Reddit would, and it was always correct.  I remember he was the first one to mention that we'd be getting an MBS Cantina.  However, people like this typically would do more "big picture" leaks - we're getting X ship/location, or we're getting a minifigure of Y character at some point this summer.

What they didn't do is all of the annoying style of leaking that's become commonplace, and I'm convinced is just clickbait stuff, that's like "the Turbo Tank includes AT LEAST one minifigure that has a left foot!"

Half of the Instagram leakers seem to be doing this, and I think it's a mix of people not actually knowing anything but wanting to seem reliable, or people just trying to farm engagement.

Definitely some part of it. I think Jedi Bricks is the worst one for this with all the clickbait "rumour" videos he makes on YouTube.

How these goobers manage to keep an audience is a mystery to me. Apparently the story was wrong, you can in fact cry wolf 50 times and people still fall for it! :laugh_hard: Ridiculous.

At least that one fake leaker on Instagram posts creative photoshopped stuff (I forgot their name, but it was the one who did the minidoll Kaminoan a couple of years back).  The rest seem to either just steal actual leaks and pass themselves off as credible, make stuff up that seems sort of plausible but way too good to be true, or just be as vague as possible so that they can point to literally anything and say "See!  I predicted this!"

The force ghost guy? I think he's just alt builds now. Unlike that one guy who's leaked three different "superman movie set" torsos now and just keeps going "trust me bro, I know the last ones were fake but this one's totally legit"

Jedi Bricks and a few others either make up stuff or repost info as their own. Unfortunately the reliable and well known accounts have been less and less active probably to be safe. At least there are still a few that have found ways to hype up reveals and news. It's just harder with the crackdowns plus the lan leak rules which some leakers also appear to be following.

This guy is just the worst. While appearances can be decieving, there are some people you just have to give a good look once to know who they are or what they are up to. In this case, being your average greedy YouTuber making stuff up and spreading fake info, in order to capitalize on ignorant fans excitement. Too many people out there are thirsty for more news, myself included every now and then, so they fall for these stupid clickbait thumbnails/titles. Only to realize after a few seconds it's a whole lot of nothing and purely based on speculation and wishlisting. Thanks for reminding me that i am in too deep in the algorithm and need to block that channel and a fair few others as well.

I was rewatching the final arc of Andor and realised the U-Wing box art background of Yavin and Yavin IV seems to be directly pulled from S2 E11! Disney+ timestamp 22:10. That’s pretty cool.

I know it’s not Lego related but I do find this whole BF2 revival thing pointless. It’s been years since they said they wouldn’t do any more updates, EA said they won’t do a BF3 they cancelled so many games because they were in a mess including a Mandolorian game (think we’re lucky Jedi 3 is still a possibility). Also EA is in a close contest with Bethesda and Ubisoft as being one of the worst companies out there. So many of their games are designed to suck the most amount of money out of your pockets think people forget about how bad the loot boxes were when BF2 came out. Even if by some miracle someone at EA sees all these players and thinks let’s make a new one, how long is the development cycle of a game?

back to Lego I’ve just seen the Lego Jedi adventures set from last year in a shop for £15 which was about 1/3 of its rrp i think, that has to be in contention with the 1st order half AtSt as one of the worst sets released. Not sure who at Lego would think making a Lego 4+ set so expensive
