When I saw this new mudguard (part 1846) in set 77012 back in 2023 I immediately wanted to use it for an Adventurers' car. But only 6w, not 8w as in set 77012. Thanks to @SERVATOR (to whom go all the credits) and his great car MOCs I got some inspiration how to build a modern version of the legendary Scorpion Tracker. (If you haven't seen @SERVATOR 's cars yet you have to visit his IG account (@servator_bricks). Awesome MOCs!)

And here it is - the new Scorpion Tracker 2023! ("2023" because this is the year part 1846 was released and because it is 25 years after the release of set 5918.)

As always critics and comments are welcome.

I love it! Just imagine what the Lego group could do with the Adventurers line given the parts and colours available today. Having said that, one of the best parts was the chassis allowing the minifigs to sit adjacent to each other (I think this first appeared in the theme). I always like your versions of these sets - staying true to the original theme while also incorporating newer parts.

@lifeinplastic Thank you very much for your kind words.

I fully agree!

Yes, I try to keep the old, classic parts (as the cockpit piece or pronted pieces) and mix them in a modest way with modern parts. Just a smooth make-over but with a classic touch.

Yes it did. And it was used by TLG until recently (in lime and azure :pir-murder: not very useful colours).

Very good use of those wheel arches. I have one of those Adventurers car pieces kicking around in my bins somewhere and I haven't been sure what to do with it - this is a good idea. Would you be willing to post any more pictures of how the chassis is built?

Thank you very much. Yes, sure, I will post some photos with details. Please give me some days to take the photos.

Ok, another neat part is being added to my Bricklink want list. Nice MOC @The Reader, I always love your classic-yet-updated builds! (Adventurers FTW!)

Thank you ver much. Very appreciated.

This part comes in dark brown and white, too. PaB has it for 0,57 € which is IMHO not a bad price. I will try it next for a truck.

The chassis was last used in 2021. If it doesn't appear in another set soon TLG will retire it! That would make me sad.

I would make me sad too. Side note: I wish they'd release it in a neutral color, like white or light bluish gray... or both!

Agreed. White especially is long overdue.

@icm Here you are. It's quite simple once I had figured it out. It should be pretty easy to build other models on this chassis.

Nice build. Though feels like you could make it a bit more sturdy by using a 2x12 plate for the chassis. As it does look like the wheels on the back could come off pretty easily

Thanks. And yes, you might be right. But the most important thing is to lock the mudguards to the cockpit piece on top (tan 2x2 plate with tan 1x2 brick in the front and two black 1x2 plates with tan 4x4 plate in the back). This gives most sturdiness.

Thanks for the pictures! I just put it together in Studio a moment ago.

Solid build. The new pieces seamlessly fit with the old to recreate this classic.

Thank you. Yes, the new mudguards fit quite well.

Now this is cool. The all black colour gives it great gangster vibes. But why train wheels?

I linked back to your album with the instructions in the description, and I hope you approve of my changes.

That's very kind, thank you. Using the 1x1x3 panel solved a problem I had: I wanted to use the 1x1x4 fence piece but this was too long by one stud. I didn't think about that 1x3 panel. Well don by you!

I'm looking forward to see it.

The converted car (technically a railmobile) is going to work in my 1920s / '30s railroad. During the Depression, (or for really cash starved railroads at any point since 1915 or so), they used modified cars for certain jobs. In this case, it's supposed to be more of an track inspection / official's vehicle. This way a superintendent could travel quickly throughout his entire division without having to hop onto a train., and this would also give him a better look at the track conditions to see what needs repair. I hope this answers your question, @The Reader.

No problem @The Reader! By the way: I just got the final parts to make it in the real world today. I'll tag you when I make my EB post so you can see it, as it differs somewhat from the original digital model...

Sounds very good. I'm looking forward to see your MOC.
