I think it may be wise for me starting some polls in the near future, asking the community about opinions, as we all know those are very often very differeny from each other :D

Roboto has had its glory for a good while, basically since google fonts launched. It's overused, often because it's a default on many platforms. Personally I find it too condensed. Inter really flows nicely, is more inviting and open. Just like Lego :D

 

PS. Lego Pirates subforum was using Inter for way over a year, until now, and it looked fantastic:

I found something, I found something (fingers clapping ... Yes Thorsten, what is it this time? *sigh* ^^)

When I hover (not clicking) over the "PINNED" label in a forum's top section, the colored background - it suddenly turns white!

Is this intentional? As that topic is pinned, should it not stay colored (don't ask me what color that is ... light bluish something grayish)

Do I get a reward for this important finding 

(No, you don't and now sit down and solve the problems, which were handed out - and be quiet)

You found an easter-egg - no just kidding, I also recognized this but did not put it anywhere yet - also the icons in the technic are a goner whenever one clicks the "mark all as read" until the next page reload..

I may take a look again.. :D

That was always a bugbear for me. I'd click, then potter off to do something in a different tab while it loaded. Nice work.

A bit earlier in the thread someone mentioned they are no longer receiving email notifications for followed content and so on, and I'm also having this issue. I don't see anything about this in the list of known issues—is there anything we can do on our end to resolve this? I'm using gmail, and I've checked spam and so on.

@Corvus Caurinus I am really glad you pointed it out - we had an issue in our DNS settings for mail.

I solved the issues, but it may still be the case that our server may falsely listed as a spam-host in some blacklists - working on getting us off there..

Will also add this to the entry posting..

Can't tell for sure - they are gone from the new template we used from the vendor & we need to investigate if we can easily bring them back like they were shown before.

On the profile Page the same may apply - we need to take a look into changing it to show them instead of their URLs.

Will add both to the main entry, those were missing there yet!

Since BB Code isn´t working anymore, does this affect Pictures linked in the past with this method? Because I´ve seen some broken pictures recently, for instance Your First LEGO Set - Page 11 - Community - Eurobricks Forums or [Alt-Build Contest] Datsun Z Rally Car (5550 Custom Rally Van) - LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling - Eurobricks Forums 

Ok, the later one was posted after the maintenance, but if the codes wouldn´t work anymore, I would guess we would see the tags there right? As for the first one, interestingly I could see those pictures (in a small version) browsing for unread content but once clicking on the thread, they don´t show anymore.

An other, small "issue" I´ve spotted is, that in some places (number of people that have voted in polls or the number of members recently browsing a topic is in Black letters on the blue ground, which isn´t that good to read IMO.

Aside from that I the update seems to be doing quite well, especially happy that loading unread content doesn´t take forever sometimes anymore - so thanks for all the work you are putting into this.

Interesting Question & nice examples delivered. I think the deactivation rendered all old posts not-working. We may want to address this with a fix - but that would need plenty of caution and testing as it would alter contents of the old posts.. So I guess this won't be done in a blink of an eye.. will add it to the main page.

Th last post is pure HTML - need to possible take another look for that..

found another one: source code view of edit functionality is not working for the dark theme... white on white.. yay

for the polls getting better readable, I applied already a fix in the technic theme, but did not copy that to the default, as I am waiting for feedback.

I do have some small suggestions, don't know how much work and if possible at all. It's just my visual preference (maybe suitable for a future poll).
Not necessarily connected to the upgrade, but since there seems to be some activity on the backend works I might just throw them in:

I find the MultiQuote button quite distracting since it takes it's whole own row. Especially on mobile. I think it'd be great if it could be moved up to the three dots for more options of the post?

Also, this has been brought up quite some times. Due to the forum structure and the menus there are 3 taps required on mobile to get to the forums index, which I guess is the most important area of the site.
Is there a way to restructure the menus for mobile and make the forums reachable in just one tap as is the case on desktop version?

We are also relying on the product from the vendor. Your request could possibly be done, but we have another topic in the pipeline, which is another major upgrade to the latest product version. When this happens we would like to also move to the new major release as soon as possible to take this as our starting point for working on UI Improvements. Background is, their new major release has been completely restructured and all old version themes may not work out anymore - that is why we don't want to create us doubled efforts in the current latest and the to be released one.. sorry for the inconvenciences though!

I can't really promise anything, but I may take a look - if it may be an easy "swap line x with line y", then I may report back - if you haven't heard anything from me by end of February, please don't hesitate to send me another friendly reminder of me wanting to do so..

I as a user of Eurobricks.com would also wish some times to have better possibilities to get to the right contents faster, I don't like it that much that all the elements are eating up very much space of the viewport, so even if one is in a forum view, it may just show the topmost 2-3 topics & one directly needs to tab-scroll to get deeper...

But I guess the same reasons for us waiting for the big new major release may apply here.

Wasn´t it the same in the old layout, just on the right side, instead of on the left? Also, the Multiquote hasn´t got its own row, but lives together with the normal Quote button - both of them are important features of a Forum and personally I use them quite often - that beeing said, moving them up to the three dots would mean I would read the comment, now naturally I would be at the end of it - and can quote it if I answer it - now if it would be moved, I would have to scroll up, press Multiquote, scroll down again to read the next post, and if I would want to quote this too, do the same again - especially with long posts that would be really annoying and be a similar hassle like you described with the Forum Index on Mobile ;).

Well I guess I'll have to kind of agree with you, I knew it was a bit of a personal preference, since I rarely use the quote buttons (the quote selection is far more useful!) and even more rarely bother to reply on mobile.
I prefer to be fast and reply directly under the post or don't bother replying at all (;
And the longer the post, the less sense it makes to quote it anyway for keeping the forum clean ... so there still might be something behind the idea?

Yeah, everyone has his own preferences, I rarely use the quote selection. Just easier to quote the post and then delete the unimportant stuff when I want to reply to several parts of the post, if it is a longer one. Since the Forum also lets you split quotes, that works quite well for those.

@SNIPE I deeply agree my own perception of the forum product acting better has not yet come truth for us & I think I can understand you very well, as I am internally tending to rage for such not working out. To be honest with you I don't have any clue yet how this is happening, nor do I have any clue into what direction to take further looks, because: We are basically with the default theme of the provider, besides some color overwrites (those should not interfere with any function you mentioned).

Nevertheless you can expect me to not be satisfied yet for the exact reasons you named - though I can't promise anything I have to admit unfortunately. But not off my list of topics I would like to still solve - hope this helps for the time being..

Fixed the cookie being set only for the session (yeah makes no sense at all - my fault ) -> fixed.

So the dark / light switch in the NavBar on the top right does not reset after the Browser is restarted - the Cookie is no valid for a Max-Age of 365 days.
