What an honour for Inaki Godoy and Co., they already get their own official minifigs!^^

I love the anime, but it is way to long now for new audiences, so it is the best thing for TLG to focus on the Adaption. And maybe the minifigs will be neutral enough to fill both purposes. But even if not, I`m excited!

I hope the biggest set is the Baratie, that would be pretty perfect at ~1300 pieces. The leaked piece counts on all these are super substantial, so I've definitely got high hopes. The level of detail we've already seen for the figs is pretty exceptional and the prices seem almost too good to be true, so we honestly might have an all-timer on our hands.

I hope we eventually get products based on the ongoing anime itself.

That little illustration from Eiichiro Oda implies that the sets are just based on the Netflix show, but the official press release specifically mentions anime, so I'd say it's like 50/50 that the D2C or something is anime based. There's no way they'd keep any of the main cast exclusive to the D2C, but it would also be lame for a 3500 piece set to have no exclusive minifigure; so including figs based on the designs from the anime in the D2C would be a pretty good solution imao.

Brickheadz might also be a good way to include some representation from the anime, and I'd say Brickheadz are pretty likely from this theme.

Might be variations of the main characters, though. Such as different outfits, Zoro with bandana/green hair, and so on. Or secondary characters from the show like Mihawk or Shanks.

Sets:

We know the main crew are likely included in the theme overall, so that means: Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp. We've also seen a Buggy hat leak so he's in the theme also. Usopp had 2 different hat variants leak, one is the darker version featured in the Arlong Park Arc when he fights Chew. Two sets likely contain Usopp for this reason which makes me lean to one being Arlong Park inspired.

I'd take a guess at the following, with more figures and things in some cases:

  • Romance Dawn Arc or Orange Town Arc, giving us either Luffy, Koby, Alvida OR Luffy, Zoro, Nami with either Axe-Hand Morgan or Buggy.
  • Syrup Village Arc as a way to give us Luffy, Kuro, Usopp, Kaya, Merry and Nami
  • Baratie Arc, would work well and could give us Luffy, Mihawk, Zoro, Sanji, Zeff and perhaps Kuroobi.
  • Arlong Park Arc giving us a set focused on the last two episodes: Luffy, Arlong, Usopp, Chew, Nami and probably throwing in Garp
  • Going Merry display ship featuring the main crew of the Going Merry along with Shanks

I just hope the sets look good.

Technically Arlong could also be included in a Baratie arc set (as could Don Krieg though that's not likely).

Why would Shanks be included in a Going Merry set? Kaya would fit better.

Another possibility for Romance Dawn would be a small location set of Windmill Village (Luffy, Shanks, possibly Makino) or a creature set of the Lord of the Coast (Shanks, Luffy) akin to some of the Avatar 2 sets. Though this would be pretty dark given what happens to Shanks in that scene, but really no worse than some of the recent HP sets.

Also all of these arcs were covered in Netflix season 1. If season 2 comes out in 2025, wouldn't at least some of the sets be based on it?

A hair/hat combo for Shanks leaked, glad to see he’ll be included somewhere. I feel like if any main side character were to be cut for space, it would’ve been him.

This wave of sets is likely based entirely on the first season as the sets are scheduled to release in August. Season 2 is presumably releasing in late 2025, likely November or December. I can't picture them adapting from that this year, though hopefully next year if the theme continues.

  • If we get a second wave of sets in 2026 I'd imagine that would be focused on Season 2. Could be a Spring or Summer Wave.
  • Season 3 is hopefully being filmed soon, some speculation it may be filmed back-to-back and would probably release late 2026 or early 2027, so a third wave of sets in 2027 would be based on that.

There was also an unverified remark on a reddit thread about someone's younger nephew being asked to do a set survey which included them seeing sets including the 'Going Merry' and 'Coco Village'. Coco Village would normally feel out of left field as Arlong Park would be the logical choice... except when you consider the final fight Luffy has in Season 1 which included all the Straw Hat Pirates, Nojiko, Nezumi, Garp, Koby, Helmeppo, Marines, etc..

Would be a good way to give us a lot of supporting characters in a single set if they did want to squeeze Arlong into a Baratie set as opposed to giving us Arlong Park. Though the Baratie is visually appealing enough and would have enough draw with Mihawk and Sanji. Though they could easily include Arlong and potentially Kuroobi & Chew.

I don't think we'll get Don Krieg and it seems unlikely that we get both Axe-Hand Morgan and Alvida because they were both the antagonists of the first episode, feels like a one or the other situation. I think they'd want to include at least one core villain from each episode, the most likely being: Axe-Hand Morgan, Buggy The Clown, Kuro, Mihawk, Arlong and maybe Garp.

I felt the same regarding Shanks. I feel like Shanks is either in the cheapest set or the most expensive. His role, other than flashbacks, was minimal so if there was ever a figure that they'd not include OR lock behind an expensive set would make the most sense to be Shanks - though at the same time the scene with him giving Luffy the hat and facing the Sea Monster is iconic enough to work as a cheap set... though would likely require a young Luffy figure.

As for Kaya, I think if we get her and potentially Merry it would be in a set focused on Syrup Village/Kaya's Mansion.

I'm expecting the wave to cover a little of S1 AND probably a few spoiler free S2 sets. I really hope that the fact that three of the characters have new hair pieces might mean they're committing to the IP for longer than one wave.

I can see existing pieces being used for many of the characters- Koby's hair would be great with the Alien Imposter from the space CMF in pink. Garp's could be the hair from friends that's now being used for MCU Hawkeye. There's probably a dozen good hair pieces for Zoro but I'm not sure about Sanji or Nami.

If they're covering S1, I'd hope to see Arlong, and I really hope to see a new head piece altogether.

I can't see characters like Kuroobi making the cut honestly. Hopefully some of the piece budget will go to pieces that can be used on the Merry's head, etc... I can already see Lego using the buildable-fig-shoulder piece for Merrys head like they do on the Dreamzzz monsters and such.

The most likely scene, then, would be with young Luffy and the Lord of the Coast. Since anything later and he wouldn't be wearing the hat. Plus like we've seen with Avatar 2, LEGO love their buildable sea beasts.

Do you have a source for that? The only leaks I've seen are a hat/dark hair combo (for Luffy) and a hat without hair but which would allow a minifig to carry it in its hand. This might point to a scene of Shanks handing the hat to little Luffy but not necessarily so (i.e. Luffy takes off the hat and gives it to Nami in Coco Village, Nami takes the hat from Luffy and throws it in the air in the Big Top ...). If there's an actual hat/red hair combo for Shanks I couldn't find it.

Found it on Xitter, it was a pic of a Luffy figurine holding two of the straw hat/hair combos, one of which was red. Seemed legit to me, I figured anyone with unreleased pieces probably wouldn’t have any reason to photoshop it or anything.

Thanks, I hadn't known about that one. It seems to be the same hat/hair combo as Luffy's with the hair recoloured a dark red. And honestly that's baffling to me because Shanks' and Luffy's hair looks completely different in the show - Luffy has curls and much shorter hair, Shanks has straight and longer hair. It makes me wonder if they're trying to save money by using the same mould for both. Hey, maybe they'll use a recolour of the leaked Usopp hair/bandana combo for Zoro as well!

(Also the red is way to dark for Show!Shanks, but there's already been a leak of Luffy's torso piece and the vest is also a much darker red than in the show, so that's apparently what they're going for.)

If the hat/hair combo for Shanks is legit then I do think we might get a set for Shanks, young Luffy, and the Lord of the Coast for the reasons outlined above.

Maybe it could be from a GWP or a polybag? Last year, Animal Crossing got a polybag with an exclusive character that had a new print and a new head mold recolor, so it wouldn’t be too far fetched.
The only other option I can think of is that bar they show in a bunch of the flashbacks, and I don’t think they’d do that for obvious reasons.

Posted

What about the Red Force? I can see 75640 being the Red Force and obviously would include Shanks, young Luffy, Yasopp, Lucky Roux and Ben Beckman, at least. My headcanon is that 75639 is the Going Merry so I find logical 75640 to be a bigger ship. That way, that strawhat/red hair piece would fit.

I can't see that. The Red Force is only shown in flashbacks in season 1 and that hardly at all. We have two major ship locations (Baratie and Merry) and a bunch of others that get more screentime than the Red Force (Alvida's ship, Nami's sloop, Garp's ship) not counting the land-based locations. I doubt they'd waste one slot out of five on it.

Themes this small don't usually get polybags. But you never know.

Look at the leaked picture on reddit where you you can see both Shanks and Luffy hairpiece. Is it the sail from the Going Merry behind ???

Yes, but I kinda just assume it’s non-lego since the OP clearly has other One Piece merch.

Since we’re confirmed to be getting a Buggy set, I really hope we get a Cabaji fig. I don’t care about the character that much, but a unicycle piece would be awesome. Beast Tamer would be even cooler (especially if he had Richie), but he was barely in the live action show so that’s kind of a stretch.

So here's a summary of one piece leaked minifig parts so far and which episodes/locations they correspond to:

1) Luffy, torso with (dark) red vest and stretched arms: episode 1 (Shell Town), not episode 2 (Orange Town - he's wearing a white T-Shirt), not episodes 3+4 (Syrup Village - he's wearing sort of a Hawaiian shirt and a black vest for dinner), not episode 5+6 (Baratie - he's wearing dungarees and a red T-Shirt and a mostly blue T-Shirt later on), episodes 7+8 (Coco Village, Arlong Park; also on the Going Merry though his arms wouldn't need to be stretched then)

2) Luffy, black hair/straw hat combo: well that doesn't narrow it down at all

3) Luffy? or Shanks?, straw hat with a way for minifig to grip it: could be Windmill Village (Shanks handing young Luffy his hat) but there's other options as well

4) Buggy: blue hair/hat combo: episode 2 (Orange Town) (Buggy appears also in episodes 3 and 8 and his head appears in several other episodes but always without the hat)

5) Usopp, hair/red bandana combo: episodes 3+4 (Syrup Village), episodes 5-6 (Baratie - though not during the initial dinner and bar visit there)

6) Usopp, hair/green bandana combo: episodes 7+8 (Coco Village, Arlong Park; also on the Going Merry)

7) Shanks, (dark) red hair/straw hat combo: flashbacks in episode 1+2 (Windmill Village including bar fight and Lord of the Coast fight, giving young Luffy his hat)

Did I miss anything?

If I'm correct then we can deduce a couple of things:

- Merry is probably a given anyway.

- There's going to be a fight scene set of either Shell Town, Coco Village, or Arlong Park. (I also assume that the same Luffy torso, with normal arms, will be used for the Merry.)

- There's a set with Buggy in Orange Town.

- There's a set with Usopp in either Syrup Village or Baratie and another one with Usopp either in Coco Village, Arlong Park, or on the Merry.

- There's a set with Shanks from one of the flashbacks in and around Windmill Village. Personally I think the Lord of the Coast fight is likely but it could also be Shanks giving Luffy his hat.

This in turn gives us the following locations: Merry, Shell Town/Coco Village/Arlong Park, Orange Town, Syrup Village/Baratie, Windmill Village. The ones I've put together are mutually exclusive so we'd either get one or the other. Personally I think the Baratie is more likely than Syrup Village and Arlong Park is the most likely out of the other three but you never know. Coco Village, on the other hand, could give us Garp & Co.

So here's my best guess:

So here's my best guess:

Since we're making predictions:

  • 301 Pieces - Buggy's Circus Tent
    • Luffy, Zoro, Buggy
    • Buggy is confirmed, but I can't really think of any substantial builds that he could come with, so I'm just guessing they'll throw him in the cheapest set.
  • 573 Pieces - Kaya's Mansion
    • Luffy, Usopp, Kaya, Kuro, Sham, Buchi
    • The build is the interior of the mansion with some play features. Maybe there can be a bit of the exterior garden with the well.
  • 926 Pieces - Arlong Park
    • Arlong, Luffy, Nami, a few fishmen, Garp, Kobi
    • The build is a shallow dollhouse type playset of the big pagoda and a few side builds.
  • 1376 Pieces - The Baratie
    • Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, Nami, Zeff, Mihawk, a few chefs or pirates
    • If one side is left open, they could definitely do the Batatie justice at this piece count.
    • Mihawk's ship would also be nice to get in this set.
  • 3402 Pieces - Going Merry
    • Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Nico Robin, Shanks
    • Lego doesn't make sets above ~$250 for this kind of license unless they're based something extremely recognizable in general. I think the Merry is the only thing from the property that reaches that threshold.
    • I'm shooting for the moon on this one and guessing it'll be based on the anime/manga. Oda is involved, and there's a bit of language in the press release that alludes to the anime specifically.
    • Plus, Lego could hide a lot more references and easter eggs in a set based on the anime (which they love to do in their big sets).
    • Most importantly, this set will almost definitely stay on shelves longer than the rest of the wave, and the Merry is the only thing not specifically tied to the first season of the live-action show.

I kinda went crazy with the fig inclusions here and getting anything based on the anime is a stretch (no pun intended), but I'm going to lock in my guesses before we get any more leaks.

Interesting predictions! I don't really think we'll get Syrup Village, and what would Garp and Koby do at Arlong Park? (Round up the beaten fishmen presumably but this was never shown in the actual episode.) On the other hand I can't really see an Arlong Park set with Zoro but not Sanji, since their team-up was pretty epic.

Your argument for the Merry being the biggest set certainly has merit (though the Merry isn't such a big ship and if it dwarfs all the various buildings from the other sets, as well as the Baratie, it would make it harder to display). Another thought that occurs to me, what if the biggest set is two ships, i.e. Garp's ship and the Merry? Though as I've noted above, Luffy's leaked torso at least doesn't fit his outfit during the one time the ships have so far met on the ocean.

In other news, Netflix have officially announced that they've finished shooting season 2, and have posted a pic on Instagram showing the main cast's outfits in Loguetown. Zoro is wearing the exact same thing from the barrel scene in episode 8, I think, and Luffy the same (or a very similar) vest which also corresponds to the leaked torso. But Nami and Sanji have different outfits, and Usopp is wearing a pale lilac sleeveless shirt and matching bandana. The last fact makes me think that we can rule out a set based on Loguetown since, if it involves Usopp, they'd have to recolour his bandana again (and a colour normally reserved for Elves and Friends sets, too, so you'd think this recolour wouldn't see much use).

Other than that, current articles about season 2 mention Tony Chopper (who'll be animated), Nico Robin, King Wapol, and the fact that the Alabasta arc won't happen this season.

I'd love to see LEGO's marketing description of this set and its play features: "Cook up poison soup in the kitchen and serve it to the mistress of the household in the dining room!" "Murder your guests and throw them in the well!" "Stalk the mistress of the household through the secret passageways in order to take away her inheritance!" (I'm assuming they wouldn't actually include the wine cellar because, well, wine. Even Malfoy Manor's cellar only had trans-light blue liquid coming out of the barrels.)
