Operacion Saturno Posted February 19 Posted February 19 It's a1950 piece Blacktron Base use to get information from other space factions of the Galaxy. Interrogations methods are mean and primitive. Blactron scientist found a better way to get information from unwilling astronauts. They designed a chair that hacks your memories while it makes the subject revive happy scenes from his past. JesseNight Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Awesome! Love to see that, but Lego said more than once that they won't accept Ideas based on previous existing themes. Some amazing builds have been rejected for that very reason. Quote

LEGO accepted my remake of the spyrius saucer scout a few days ago. So I think it also has something to do with design, presentation and originality. Quote

If Lego won't accept them, then why they approved it in the first place? Classic Space AFOLs already made them change their mind more than once. Let's do it again. Let's bring back Blacktron as a current Space subtheme! Edited February 22 by Operacion Saturno Quote
JesseNight Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I don't know, I just remember some awesome classic space designs that actually got the votes and then got rejected for that very reason. I'm no Lego representative so I can't say how it works, only what I've seen. Not sure if it's better if they're inconsistent with these rules... Anyway you have my support, I love these old space themes and would absolutely wanna see more! Quote

We are still here and we want the proper return of the space subthemes! We must make ourselves to be listened. Quote

Yes, that's unfortunately true but some Ideas sets are based on existing themes and subthemes. Exo Suit (Classic Space), Barracuda Bay (Pirates), Medieval Blacksmith (Black Falcons) and Viking Village (Vikings). Barracuda Bay is even based on an existing set and minifig (Black Seas Barracuda and Captain Redbeard). Quote

Yes that's true, but those themes didn't have anything on shelves at the time the ideas sets would compete with. With the new Blacktron Renegade, LEGO will deny any project that interferes with their own ideas. (I.E. another Blacktron set, but from Ideas) They don't want the sales to cannibalize each other. JesseNight Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Understandable from a business pov. Bit of a shame because it's often the fans who already bought one or more of the official Lego one who want to see more of the series. Quote

Anyway you have my support, I love these old space themes and would absolutely wanna see more! That's not the point. The point is to make noise, Lego is a business so they will release what the costumers want. We are posting and posting new Space theme stuff, Lego will review it no matter what they said in the past. They will take that into account. You want new Classic Space stuff? Keep creating new designs. The trans yellow piece from the new Blacktron vehicle, I use it on my Cosmic Horizon Base 2 years ago. Also the trans yellow garage doors and 1x2x5 brick, both on Friends sets and both on the Cosmic Horizon Base. And thanks for your support! Quote
JesseNight Posted February 24 Posted February 24 @Operacion Saturno That's some valid points indeed! 22 hours ago, Operacion Saturno said: The trans yellow piece from the new Blacktron vehicle, I use it on my Cosmic Horizon Base 2 years ago. Yes I'm happy with the new trans-yellow canopies too (both the 4 studs wide Cruiser and the 6 studs wide Galaxy Explorer & Renegade). Though in all honesty my favorite canopy is still the SP1/M-Tron one (think SP2 and IP still had it too). I feel the pilots have to sit or lean back too much on these new ones that are a slope down right from the hinge. Quote

Because if that previous afirmation was true, we never would got the Exo suit set in first place. Quote

Spyrius, Exploriens, UFO and Insectoids used it as well. Quote

The space babies sets was originally an idea of Dana Knudson. He created and posted those microsets way before set 40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad was released. Quote
