Doctor Sinister Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I'm kind of in an odd mood - this is the second creation, a vignette this time, in what I've decided to call my "Animals At War" series - a pathetic attempt to give credibility to a sick subject. So here we see some sheep being herded across a minefield. Complaints, comments, hate mail to the usual address please. Dr. S. Edited August 6, 2008 by Doctor Sinister Quote
SirNadroj Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 The recent MOCs you've been making, I think, have been quite informative, as I'm totally oblivious to these horrors. As for this one, it's quite interesting. A simple build, yes, but interesting none the less. The BF helmet paired with the BA minifigure is a match made in heaven. Quote
Eilif Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Wow, that's pretty dark. I like it. It makes me giggle guiltily, in much the same way as dead baby jokes. I'm fairly confident that Brickforge never saw this coming. Is this based on an actual practice durring ww2, or just something you thought up? Quote

I believe it was an actual practice - albeit one probably dating from WWI as opposed to WWII (which is kind of why I gave the soldier a wooden rifle as opposed to the MP40 he's usually armed with). It may date from earlier -or it may be apocryphal. Dr. S. Quote
Zepher Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Look out! There are more! It's a really cool idea, I'd like to see more (maybe a little more detailed next time (not that I could do any better )) Quote
Hinckley Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 This is one of the funniest vigs I've seen in a long time. I love your sense of humor. Thanks for sharing this with us and making me laugh today. Quote

Hinckley Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I'm so relieved to hear you say that! Thanks. Dr. S. No problem. It is a nice poignant statement about war and human nature, but I see past that crap. I see a burnt sheep mid-air. That's really clever and it makes me laugh...hard. Quote
filefolders Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) That's evil! It's not as bad as the bomb dogs though. Edit: Oops, wrong smiley. Edited August 6, 2008 by filefolders Quote
Inertia Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I know the Animal rights people will hate me for this but that is hilarious! I love this vig! Can't wait for the rest, the explosion is actually very well made too... Quote
Eilif Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 One question. Is it a black sheep, or is it a charred sheep? Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 One question. Is it a black sheep, or is it a charred sheep? Charred. Although I also like the idea that he's just an unlucky black sheep. Dr. S. Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Nice vig. The explosion is very nicely created especially the unlucky white little sheep steps onto the mine and blew sky high into a black charred sheep. I am not being sick. In fact, I find it funny to make use of sheeps to clear landmines over the field for the soldiers to cross. That's was my first thought when I view this vig. Quote
Joey Lock Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 (edited) You've got Hate mail! I wish there were rules on this Forum about Animal cruelty... Bloody Nazis! Edit:I dont know why they waste Sheep when you can easily see a Shiny Silver Mine... Edited August 8, 2008 by Joey Lock Quote
Lego12 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 That was hilarious! I wish I had your sense of humour! Please give me your humourous powers, please! The charred sheep is funny, even though it is a little cruel, aww what the hell its hilarious! Quote
CopMike Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Nice one Dr S - especially like the smart use of round 1x1 for mines and the smile on the soldiers face when he sees the sheap going ballistic ! This kind of irony/"dark side" builds are a favorite use of LEGO imo ! Kepp´em coming! CopMike Quote
Opproperaar Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 While I'm normally an animal friend and I find it wrong in real life I couldn't help but giggle at the sight of this. Nice going, odd, but I like it Quote
Capn Frank Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 As my friend Stick would say because his friend says it: Brilliant! Were any bricks harmed in the production of this Vig Dr. S? I'm not worried about animals. Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 You would think it easier to walk along with a really long stick! Good, funny (okay, Hilarious) Vig! I am now on my way to find the others. On a brighter note, at least the soldiers knows what he can have for dinner! Maybe in the morning he can send some pigs across and hold a chicken close enough to scare an egg out of it! Regards Cpt. PB Quote
Dovchenko Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I didn't really laugh at sheeping being blown up over mines, but good vig I guess. What set has sheep? Quote
