The Reader Posted March 23 Posted March 23 (edited) This is just a small MOC for the desert subtheme: Johnny Thunder and Doctor Lightning on their motorcycle with sidecar. I used the classic motorcycle which first appeared in 1983. It saw its last appearence in 1996 (classic town sets 6598 and 6625) so it might be possible that it would have been used for an Adventurers' set from 1998. The sidecar is attached to the motorcycle the same way as in set 6622: just with the tan 2x4 plate. But this construction is pretty sturdy (my old bricks have a tight clutch power). The motorcycle and its sidecar come with two minifigures, one scorpion and a lot of accessories. I built this MOC as contribution to #PolybagContest hosted by @retro.figs over on IG. Comments and critics are as always welcome! Edited March 23 by The Reader Quote
SpacePolice89 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Nice build! The proportions are very good and the sidecar looks great. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Perfect polybag sized build. Quite period, even with the phase out of the motorcycle. Quote
The Reader Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 @SpacePolice89 @Feuer Zug @Murdoch17 Thank you all very much. I appreciate your feedback very much! Over on IG, user @legosystem32 created a black motorcycle (using this old style classic motorcycle) with sidecar: https://www.instagram.com/p/CxMd8-mL-Yd/?hl=de&img_index=4 Quote
Autumn Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Looks good! I would personally have used two of these for the front of the sidecar and maybe put a little windshield on top. Still like it though! Quote
The Reader Posted May 17 Author Posted May 17 @Autumn Thank you very much for your suggestion. I gave it a try. Et voilà: I think the front of the sidecar looks a bit blocky this way. So I prefer my initial design. Quote
Jack Sassy Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I always thought that Doctor Lightning is the type to write things in his diary so he wouldn't have to remember them. I like both of these designs, though have to agree with ye that the second makes it blockier. Good job on both! Quote
