Found this bad boy. Three batteries pulled out; contacts corroded. Any chance I can get this boy running again? Or should I let go?

Of course you can clean it up. Vinegar will help remove the corrosion. If contacts are broken, you can replace with those from another broken toy. Or you can use a 4.5V lipo battery connected to the first and last terminal.

This can be easily removed with a tooth brush an a bit of distilled water or a mild carbon soda mix. If you care to invest there are also specialized „Entroster/ Oxidentferner“ solutions for electronics which are a mix of oils and alcohols in conjunction with phosphates. Whatever works. The spring coils and metal contact plates can also easily be replaced with stuff you can find in roller pens and office utilities. You may also have a specialized electrical store like Elektro Pinder here in Leipzig that make it their job to find rare replacement parts.

P.S.: Of course there's cheap replacements on eBay et al, including originals and knock-offs, so it may just be more time and cost efficient to go that route.

So, update time. I have cleansed the contacts. Put in batteries, connected the receiver and it worked...but my car doesn´t steer to the right. So I have opened the whole case and you see at the top right, where the problem is. By pushing the button up the contact is blocked. This crystallized thing is like stone. What now?
