May the 4th be with you. Welcome to Eurobrick's annual Star Wars contest!
There are many ways to participate, and lots of ways to win! Four different categories, multiple prizes, and a chance to participate in our role-playing Star Wars game Mysteries are all part of the fun this year.

General Rules
The contest runs May 1st through July 1st. As long as it's still July 1st, 2025 somewhere in the world, you can still enter.
All entries must be new builds not shown online or publicly before May 1st, 2025.
Only official LEGO elements should be used. Avoid third party parts or clone bricks. Digital entries will be allowed. All digital entries must use only existing pieces in existing colors.

Entries may be updated as long as the contest is still open.
All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum with the title prefixed by, "[M4-25 - category] - entry name". (For example, "[M4-25 - The Crew] – A Salty Bunch".)
You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. It is also prohibited to use the Lego logo in any picture.

There are no size restrictions.
As this is a Star Wars contest all entries need to be Star Wars related.
A link should be included in this thread to ensure your entry is counted.
This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win prizes.
You may enter each category as many times as you would like. Each contestant can only win 1 category prize and 1 individual prize, if multiple categories are won by the same contestant, he/she chooses which prize to receive and the other prizes will be awarded to the runner ups. The Grand Admiral winner will have the highest scored entry counted in each category, not every entry.

You can use this stamp on your photos if you'd like:

All entries can also by submitted to our Mysteries game. Our Star Wars RPG just launched it's second season. It's a great place to grow as a builder. Come check it out!

Judging Method
There will be a team of judges who will score builds based on the following criteria:
Category: Pass/Fail Does your build fit the category?
Majority vote of the judges decides pass/fail if the vote isn't unanimous.

Storytelling ?/10
Does your build communicate a story all on it's own?

Aesthetics ?/10
Detailing, build composition, and visual impact.

Technical Ability ?/10
How well you use building techniques. SNOT, NPU, and movement are all elements of this category.

Final Score: ?/30

Individual Awards
Grand Admiral: awarded to the competitor with the highest total score combined from all entered categories. To win the Grand Admiral prize you must enter at least 3 categories.

Categories
The Crew

Build a set of 5 figures to pilot a vessel. Droids, brick-built or molded, count as a figure. This is a fig-barf challenge. You don't have to build any characters that currently exist in Star Wars media, but your figures should look like they fit within the SW universe. Side builds may accompany your minifigures but you may use no more than 100 pieces. Pieces used to kit out your minifigures and the figures themselves don't count against the 100 piece limit.

Example:
1280x763.JPG

Asymmetrical
Build a ship that's not symmetrical when it's landed. Examples would be the TIE Bomber, Stinger Mantis, and the Millennium Falcon.  It can be any spaceship of any size from a TIE Fighter to a Star Destroyer. Minifigures are allowed. Side builds may accompany your ship but you may use no more than 100 pieces

An extra note for judging, it can be hard to score points in Storytelling for the ship category. Think about including battle damage or other elements that tell a story as soon as you look at the ship.

Example:

YT-1450 Light Freighter - "The Nadir"

Built by Oscar Cederwall

Example:

1280x1215.JPG

Rebellions Are Built on Hope
Show some form of rebellion against the Empire. You can draw on inspiration from Andor, Rebels, Bad Batch, or other media. You can also create your own scenario. All MOCs should be set during a time when the Emperor is alive (clones of the Emperor also count ).

Example:

Example:

Cassian and Bix

Built by Leot

Wretched Hive
Build a Cantina. It can be a wretched hive of scum and villainy or it can be the most posh of clubs. But most of all it should feel like a place where would-be adventures can meet before their next adventure. Decore and setting will be a big part of this category, but don't skimp on the characters either. Your Cantina should feel well frequented. There is no size limit, go as big as you want!

Example:

A Wretched Hive Of Scum and Comradery

No Rots category?

Nope, can't honor the anniversaries every year. Or else we'd never be free of them!

Does the asymetrical ship needs to be an imaginary one or can it be an existing ship ?

It can be either an existing ship or an imaginary one. It just needs to fit the Star Wars universe feel.

This is true- lego's fallen into that trap now, if you do the analysis literally every year is at least one movie's _5th or _0th anniversary.

Love this contest and the scoundrelly throughline this year! Head's already spinning with ideas.

Glad we've got up till July first! I can plan my entries now but still have time to make something when I can get back to my bricks/computer.

I've got some (unpublished) WIPs I could finish and use for this. I assume that's okay? ( Though I suppose you've got no way of knowing anyway ).

Totally fine to use old WIPs. As long as you haven't shown them online before it's allowed.

I just want to make sure I have the timeline right here- the emperor's clone Dathan (rey's father) was born about 15 years before the emperor died, and died when more conventional palpatine clone(s) were already alive, so does this mean MOCs can be set anywhere from pre-TPM to the end of TROS, or are you not wanting them to be set between the end of ROTJ and start of the sequel era? All this to say if I wanted to make a MOC set during the Mandalorian/remnant era, would this be acceptable?

It should be set post ROTS to the destruction of the 2nd Death Star, or any time after that when a clone is present. This can include Dark Horse comics' version of the Palpatine clone story or Disney's version. But it needs to be clearly an act of rebellion against the Emperor's Empire.

Sorry- to clarify, is a scene depicting fighting an imperial remnant OK or no? (Either carrying out Palpatine's orders via Operation Cinder, or in the way that as of Mando S3 the remnants, including Pelleaon's and therefore Thrawn's, seem to have a council leading them that's involved with Exogol and therefore the cloned emperor.) I know this is a weird thing to be focusing on but I have a sort of throughline story created for my entries and want to make sure the timeline I've created works.

Yes, that scenario would fit with the category. Can't wait to see what you build!

Just had a small question on the asymmetrical ship category : are we allowed to add a small additional build and minifigures ( similar to the 100 pieces in the crew category ) in order to enhance our storytelling ?

That's a reasonable request. I'll update the category specifics to allow for a side build of up to 100 pieces. Minifigures are always allowed.

I have two rather silly questions:

1) Are the contest entries considered WIPs as long as we don't run out of time? Are we allowed to add text and images to our contest entries after we published them on the forum?

2) Is it OK to post photos of our entries on other forums after publishing them on Eurobricks while the contest is still running? Would it be a violation of the rules?

1) Yes, you can update your MOCs and post new photos before the deadline. You should only display 1 photo-shopped picture with text or other embellishments. The rest should just show the MOC as you built it. You can post other edited pictures online, but for your contest entry it should only have 1 photo-shopped picture.

2) You can post your MOC anywhere you want at any time. The reason behind the "not shown online before the contest" rule is to ensure people are not bringing back old MOCs just to try to win.

Hi, great contest!

I got 1 question. Can we use LEDs inside builds? They would be not visible, covered by transparent original LEGO parts. They are not really bricks, just source of light... so I am not sure is it ok with the rules?

Here is the example what I mean

Hi Kalais, good question. LEDs that aren't Lego brand can be used for your main shot (the one allowed to be photoshopped). But you would also need to include pictures without the LEDs enhancing your build.
