Please don't complain about this not being fair and all. RULES AND REGULATIONS The following section describes the contest specific and general rules and regulations. But before that, please take notice of a simple motto regarding the Eurobricks Contests: CONTESTS ARE FOR FUN! Of course there's competition, but at the end of the day, LEGO is just a hobby and the main goal for each of us is to have fun! CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS The entry needs to have a name. The entry needs to be a vehicle. The entry needs to be studless. Some studded System parts are okay, but model team is not permitted. Pullback Motor is permitted. Pneumatics are permitted. msk6003 Posted May 20 Posted May 20 (edited) Okay, since you said halftracks are not allowed, I have one question left. In addition to the existing LEGO tracks and chain parts, can I use custom brick-built tracks? Edited May 20 by msk6003 Quote

howitzer Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I don't think it's necessary to specifically exclude GBC's or animals, as those would hardly count as any sort of vehicle anyway Quote

Erik Leppen Posted May 21 Posted May 21 (edited) Nice, a new contest! Seems to be broad enough to allow many entries. Curious what people will come up with this time :) On 5/20/2025 at 9:01 AM, Jim said: Vehicle: A thing used for transporting people or goods, such as a car, plane, truck, etc I do wonder what a tracked airplane would look like :D Anyways, I assume a tank counts as a vehicle, even though its main use is not really to transport stuff :P (well, it "transports" bullets really fast, I guess) Also, I assume fantasy vehicles are OK as well. Things don't have to be realistic, right? Not sure I'll have the time to join, but who knows. I never build tracked things, so maybe I should put some dormant parts to use... 2GodBDGlory Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Good timing! I was just sitting here wondering what I should build next, at which point I hopped on Eurobricks and noticed a new contest! I guess I can now filter down my ideas! Quote
1980SomethingSpaceGuy Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Another contest! Great news! Thanks Jim I'd like to build a snow mobile. It's not technically a half-track, but I understand it's borderline. On the other hand, the hinge system to attach the skis is a nice Technic challenge.. Please? Quote
Berthil Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Wall-E is tracked and has a belly for goods. But also that I motorised in the past for GBC and is not allowed. At the moment nothing else comes up in my brain avoiding putting functions behind Technic panels as that is not my style of building. Quote

As long as it doesn’t have wheels. Do others agree? Quote
Seasider Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I’m ok with the snowmobile. It’s not got wheels in contact with the ground so in my head is valid. Quote
Auroralampinen Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Well im fine with snowmobile:). There is also a tracked atv:). Quote
Seasider Posted May 22 Posted May 22 You can get tracked “wheelbarrows” too. lots of things have tracked variants Quote

msk6003 Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) I suddenly thought of this yesterday, and looks like it's obvious, I'm asking because I think it's better to make it clear. This kind of use doesn't count as a tracked vehicle, right? Edited May 22 by msk6003 Quote

bruh Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Do the tracks need to be Lego? Could I for example use rubber bands? Quote

I'd say the criteria should be something like "The vehicle must have tracks contacting the ground, and must not have wheels contacting the ground." Quote
howitzer Posted May 23 Posted May 23 6 hours ago, bruh said: Do the tracks need to be Lego? Could I for example use rubber bands? Just my opinion, but I think making the tracks out of third-party rubber bands would go against the spirit of the contest, as that would involve excessive amounts of them. Quote

I agree. You can make tracks of other LEGO parts, but let's not use rubber bands, elastics, hoses, etc. Quote
