icm Posted May 21 Posted May 21 RansomFern does it again! Another alt-build that's so brilliant it's hard to believe it comes from the same set, and equally hard to believe that Lego didn't build it that way the first time! Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted May 22 Posted May 22 The designers of these sets must quake with fear every time you buy one- this is the second time I've thought a set just didn't work as a concept only to see you turn it into something I'm tempted to drop hundreds on. It looks SO CLEAN. Making any sort of realistic human form is one of the hardest things to do with lego and it's impressive that you've done such a good job making a form-fitting suit. If you have any interest in working for lego, this and the hulkbuster would pretty much guarantee you a spot, I'd say. They're not just good MOCs, they're showing that with the budget and part availability of the actual set you can pull off some pretty insane feats. Quote
Yoggington Posted May 22 Posted May 22 You've improved the design so much that it's wild. And to do it while part-limited to being an alt-build? Woah. Quote
ExeSandbox Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I'm almost tearing up from how incredible this is. The head sculpt is beautiful. I don't know why, but this shot with the exposed internals looks sick AF. 21 hours ago, Ransom Fern said: Quote
Exetrius Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Insanely good! Of course we know a designer's job is hard, but this just makes them look bad... I love how you've introduced so many angles that make this sculpt come to life, for example the shoulders/arms that angle a bit forward as well as inward, or the organic curves that shape the back. Incredible, bravo! Quote
brimbolet Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I simply can't believe this is an alternative build using only bricks from the set. Stunning. Thanks for sharing! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Wow this is the difference between a toy (TLG) and a masterpiece! Quote
Toastie Posted May 22 Posted May 22 You made this absolutely crazily stunning and phantastic MOC using only the pieces of the very LEGO set??? Sorry, I don't believe that. I'd say: From 4+ of these LEGO sets using only the required pieces with only a few pieces as leftovers. Yes, that seems to be accurate. What are you saying? Not accurate? Only the original set pieces were used? OK. Well. Wow. In direct comparison, the LEGO design looks like ... what simply stuck, when arbitrarily attaching pieces ... Congratulations. For me, your creation is simply from outer space, from a creator living far, far in the future ... Wow. All the best Thorsten Quote
Time77 Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Hell, I'm not much of a fan of the character, but damn thats impressive... TLG is really slacking Quote
Corrado Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Haven't seen a B model this good for a long time. Simply amazing! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted Thursday at 08:24 PM Posted Thursday at 08:24 PM I had no interest in the full size bust. I do have some interest in this version. Well done! Knocked it out of the park. Quote
