[MOC] DK's Nissan 350Z (1:12) Tokyo Drift

Hi all!

I'm happy to present my new MOC - DK's Nissan 350Z from "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift".
It's my third FF car in 1:12 scale after Toyota Supra MK4 and Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Scale: 1:12
Length x Width x Height: 37 x 17 x 11 cm

Features:
- detachable body
- steering wheel connected to the front wheels with a control knob in the trunk
- working 6-piston engine
- spring-loaded doors and trunk cover
- openable bonnet

That's a nice build. I like the clean design (minimal and careful parts used to fill many gaps) and I love how you did the removal body. Maybe more official sets should do that to avoid complaints of "you can't see the mechanics when it's finished". 

Only complaints (or should I say constructive criticisms!) are the stickers covering multiple parts (though that's easy to fix by running a sharp knife along the gaps) and the completely upright seats. I also have a personal disdain for those cam style engines. 

But overall it looks like a lot of effort went into the look of this car. Very well done

That is very good looking! I always like it when MOCs can convey that they're based on a modified real-world car accurately.

Any particular reason not to include suspension? It seems like it could have easily been done. Is it important to keep costs down for people on Rebrickable?

Unfortunately, the front axle and the body frame have no gap to fit shocks there.

Thank you for your feedback! I decided not to cut stickers for my build, but everyone can cut them themselves before applying.

Shape looks good, pity that there is no suspension, not to mention buggy motor powered model...

Indeed, this has beautiful shaping, flows so well with the available lego parts!

Some suspension would probably work out, maybe one transverse mounted spring?

Will there be RC version too? Would definitely deserve it :)

Yes, I'm preparing it, it will be released soon. RC versions of my models are not popular, so they has low priority

Hmm, I'm surprised by that, I like how you do you compact chasses with nice electronics layout. Though it's understandable that less people can build the RC models, so they sell less.
