Legoman31 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 LEGO sets Sears Tower and John Hancock Center are now available on US Shop@Home. At $20 for 69 pieces for both they are expensive. Sears Tower John Hancock Center
mania3 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 On Saturday I was at Legoland and I saw these in the shop. I had no idea they were so expensive. I can't seem to understand why, either. I am pretty sure this will really hinder sales of this line.
Matteo Kenobi Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I actually saw these in early august when I travelled to Chicago, they had the Sears tower at the Sears tower gift shop. I was going to get it until I saw the price, I guess it is nice to see it up on S@H though, but pricy is an understatement.
KinGanon Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Wow $20, thats a lot for a building I could probably make myself(illl check if they have instructions though) Also this seems to be part of some architectural series it seems
Norro Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 It seems your mans ideas had to be changed to fit existing piece runs. If you go back a few Brickjournals you can see the modified technique he had in mind (which would have suited the price point much better). God Bless, Nathan
slimninj4 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 WOW 20$ is insane. I think you can make that much cheaper on S@H pick a brick.
CP5670 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Wow, those have to be the most overpriced sets I've ever seen on S@H, especially since they seem to use only basic bricks. $20 for 69 pieces is the kind of thing you see with old MISB sets on ebay, but many of those at least have some rare pieces.
Buttons Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I have to disagree, I think that it is the design that you are spending your money on her but I offer a "Well done" to the first person to reveiw one of these sets.
Front Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 A brick is not just a brick. These are special sets aimed at different costumers than usual for Lego, and they include a small booklet with history and facts about the building in the sets. Front
Cardinal Brick Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I'd like to have a look at the booklet that comes with it before making my mind up but the price is very high
JimBee Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 $20 for 69 bricks is insane. Now that I have better pictures, I'm going to try and build it myself. But at least their available a S@H.
