Algernon Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Yeah, if it wasn't for the disks, I won't care so much either. I'm definitely down for the Hyperspeed pursuit. And we've only seen four sets! Quote
Brickthing Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Flick-fire pods on the GM. That's awesome, especially because we know what happens when you get flicked into space (kids don't though, so that's why TLG could do it )! Speaking of flick-fire though, two of the minifigs have hand-held flick-fire missles as weapons. I wonder what is in the containers? There'd better be something good, like a kitchen, or at the very least have space and floorboards for a kitchen. The GM could be modular like the classics me thinks, because there are two pilots in the back of the ship, and those areas look like they could fly on their own. Quote
Algernon Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 What do you guys think this is? Whatever it is, I like it. Quote
Asuka Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Thank you very much, Bricks! Whoa! I´m impressed... it seems like TLC´s trying something pretty intrepid and imaginative with that theme... police crafts which´re reminiscent of the good old classics, but the baddies and their vehicles´re fresh, fancy and even funny... I really like TLC´s humorous efforts here... Mad Max in Space on! A very brave step for TLC... so many times a lot of us (me too)´re ranting that there´re no real innovations with the line-up, only the same old firefighters in new dresses, but now, like with Castle, they did a really interesting and novel composition out of that classic theme IMHO... I guess my favorite´s that cool police craft with that trans blue Speed Racer´s windshield... somehow it reminds me a little of Blade Runner... Quote

The GM is the old one. On that topic, it's interesting how this new GE has a much higher piece count than the old GM, even though it looks only slightly bigger. (825 as opposed to 395, although the latter was a bit low even for its time) Quote
Algernon Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I actually think the GE looks much bigger. Quote

Hinckley Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Missing one: Actually, they're all there, it seems the website is having some trouble... Quote
CP5670 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I think the website does not allow hotlinking. The image links work if you copy and paste them into the browser. Quote
Righteous Squid Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I have never been particularly fond of the Space theme (I'm understating this so as not to offend any of the more rabid, avid fans) but I'm loving this. Lot's of style, lots of useful pieces, good colour scheme and cool aliens. The GE has a wealth of pieces that I can use to make a proper lab for Mr Freeze, as will the rest of the police ships. The bad guys ships should be easy enough to Mod to fit my Gotham, with pieces left over for the Batcave, and my son can use the aliens as extras for his sparsely populated Sail Barge. Looks like I'm going Lego space for the first time. Quote

They do allow it, but when the bandwidth is getting high, it seems to cut hotlinks first. So, I uploaded them to my BS gallery. They're viewable now... Quote
Algernon Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 There you go, they're working for me. Now to resume drooling, Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Those Pics deserve a Clint Eastwood quote: "Feeling lucky, punk?" LOL. I admit to skipping out on Mars Mission, but these look really cool! Congrats on finally getting it right, Lego. Quote
Batbrick Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Love it! The four armed alien is simply made of win, love the excitement on his...er...face. That spiked helmet in the same pic looks great too. As predicted those skull pilots look fantastic, I love the uniforms on them. Not sold on the orange guy, but then this is an odd angle to see him. Hyperspeed Pursuit looks beautiful, the space Police ship here is wonderfully designed, especially the thrusters on the back. I disagree with people's opinions that the Aliens ships look ugly, that big cargo freighter looks sweet. You can tell the laser goes into the box when it closes, making it look like an ordinary and legal freighter, which in my opinion is very nice. Love the Galactic Enforcer, the best ship we've had in ages from proper space. Hopefully KDog likes it. I'm with Righteous Aquid too, the second I saw those trans blue tanks on the side I said to myself "perfect for Nora Fries". Loving everything here and can't wait to see more! Batbrick Away! Quote
Lego12 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 These absolutely amazing! Great job TLC! Way, way better than MM! I love em'! Quote
Derek Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Wow! Looks nice! I hope we soon se pics of some of the smaller sets. That green alein with the four arms is really creative. TLC! Quote

Agree %100... I do think, though, that the yellow cargo on the back of the evil freighter is a little clashing. Quote
Hinckley Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Agree %100... I do think, though, that the yellow cargo on the back of the evil freighter is a little clashing. Really? Yellow and black clash? Are you sure you understand the definition of clashing? Quote
VBBN Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Trans Blue! Man, I love these. Can't wait to get some... And look at those aliens!!! Quote
Algernon Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Really? Yellow and black clash? Are you sure you understand the definition of clashing? It seems completely out of place on an otherwise black and gray vehicle. Also the white laser cannon protruding from it seems nonsensical, but I imagine it was stolen from the Space Police. Though I admit the unique splash of yellow on that set is consistent with the scattered "grunge" feel of the bad guy sets. Quote

Clash means to the left or right of a color's complimentary color on the color wheel. So, technically, nothing really clashes with black. Pink and green are a good example of clashing. Dark blue and a bright orange clash. Purple and a green-ish yellow clash... Black and yellow do not clash. Back on topic. Quote
