RoflWafls Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Nope, that's not it.The eyebrows are the same as the original Marion. The eyes and eyelashes are almost the same as Willie's. The only difference is that the white eye dots are smaller and there's less eye shadow. The mouth design is the same as Willie's, only it's smaller than Willie's. The lips are a natural color, not red. Teeth still show and there's no black lines. The scared face is a lot like Willie's. Black eyebrows, smaller mouth, and teeth are clinched shut. I wonder what this is that I've got. Cool! You got a misprint! That might be worth alot of money!
bondp99 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Hi, got the same 'new' head in 7625 (bought on Amazon.de last week). I thought it was the Willie head but it has some minor changes: - lips are not so shiny red - no black curve - black eyebrows And here are some pictures: http://bondp99.webng.com/DSCF0379.JPG http://bondp99.webng.com/DSCF0380.JPG
Bricks Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 .....got the same 'new' head in 7625 (bought on Amazon.de last week). I thought it was the Willie head but it has some minor changes: - lips are not so shiny red - no black curve - black eyebrows ..... I think TLC made a new edition for Willie. Something to check their new prints. I'm sure we can see more of them furthermore. Back to the main topic: Does anybody get a brown mustache, yet (if he bought the set this year)? 'Bricks'
WookieeWarrior Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Hi,got the same 'new' head in 7625 (bought on Amazon.de last week). So the question is- is this the new Marion or the new Willie? And Bricks, I have gotten the brown 'stache just a few days back from S@H. I guess it's luck of the draw.
Derek Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Huh. That Marion head is definately wierd. It is either a new version of Marion for the existing sets, the final version of the summer one (Cairo), or the new Willie for the Temple of Doom. I'm leaning towards the last option, It wouldn't be too realistic to have a Willie figure in that set with bright red lipstick and other makeup...
5150 Lego Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Is a slight color variation in a mini fig head detail really that big a deal?
Derek Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 (edited) Is a slight color variation in a mini fig head detail really that big a deal? Maybe its not. But it is more accurate brown, as opposed to gray. When it comes down to it, Lego for whatever reason, purposely changed what was in the set (something new) to something else (old head, which many already have). Sure, its not a huge deal, but it is an annoyance. If I were to buy that set, that head will probably be one of the factors that I will consider. Edited March 2, 2009 by darthperson
Batbrick Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I think it's a pretty big deal. For one, it's actually accurate to the film. For two, we already have that grey head, so a brown one would be much more useful, especially for people using it as a young Captain Gordon head such as myself. Then again, in the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal, I'm just happy I got the brown head. Batbrick Away!
Whittleberry Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I bought the Flying Wing in a Victorian Target store today, brown 'stache. This means that no grey ones have appeared in Aus yet. Maybe it would be a good idea to grab a Wing asap if you are planning to get one at all, cause later on there might be only grey ones available.

What does us getting the set a.s.a.p. have anything at all to do with whether or not the mechanic has the grey moustache?

What does us getting the set a.s.a.p. have anything at all to do with whether or not the mechanic has the grey moustache? It makes perfect sense, he's saying that since the grey staches are going in full production and Aus seems to be teeming with the brown ones currently, people in Aus should take their chance now. I did the first set I saw and got a brown one too. Batbrick Away!

JCC1004 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) Using my 300th post (thank you thank you, you're too kind!) to shed some light here.http://www.flickr.com/photos/no_onions/3282710950/sizes/m/ for those of you with a Flickr account. Same face as Willie, except with a black curve on the bottom of the upper lip, used in this picture as the face of Marion in the new Cairo set. Where did you find that pic? Never saw the Cario ones yet. Thanks! Edited March 9, 2009 by JCC1004
The Penguin Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) Today I got a "Stolen treasure" set, gentlemen, and to my surprise I got there a new brown german mechanic head.... Derek Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Today I got a "Stolen treasure" set, gentlemen, and to my surprise I got there a new brown german mechanic head.... So that means that they may appear even in "older sets". Odd, indeed.... ) Good day, gentlemen! ) That is irony for you. It is very strange that you find it in that set, when there is enough commotion about it not being in the set is supposed to be in...
Filip Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 My cousin got The Race For The Stolen Treasure at his birthday. I have that set too, and it has the grey mustache but he got the brown mustache which is wrong but kind of cool too.
Bricks Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I don't think, that the brown ones are wrong... Maybe TLC have produced too much, because of the high request. So they decided to put a few in the older sets... 'Bricks'
Dollar Bill Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I got the FotFW too, and mine was gray. I'd really like the brown head. But it's nice to have an extra in case you lose the one off of your Nazi trooper from 'Race for the Stolen Treasure' or whatever it was.
RoflWafls Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) I just opened FotFW and I got brown! I got mine at Meijers, so if you have one in your state (U.S), go there! I also noticed the tape on the box has the numbers (and letter): 251W8. I wonder if that has anything to do with getting brown or grey...... Edited March 15, 2009 by RoflWafls
bondp99 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I got the brown mustache from 7683 FotFW (Lego Store Munich). I also took some comparison pictures for the 'new' Marion head. http://bondp99.webng.com/L1030037.JPG http://bondp99.webng.com/L1030042.JPG
MarcusV3 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 God you guys are lucky I think Lego should make it some sort of contest to cover up their mistake and if it's not a mistake... hopefully they'll make more
Derek Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 God you guys are lucky I think Lego should make it some sort of contest to cover up their mistake and if it's not a mistake... hopefully they'll make more Something tells me a "Find the exclusive brown mustache!" giveaway wouldn't be too exciting as far as promotions go.
JCC1004 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) I have a few meathods to get one. One is to buy him off of Bricklink. Another is to buy the set and hope you get it. ( on the tape there is a number and one labeled 303W9 has the brown, extra chance) Another is buy the Race for the stolen treasure. I have another experimental way. Once I'm proven right or wrong I'll post it here. On a side note I got a grey, damn! JCC1004 Edited April 6, 2009 by JCC1004
Derek Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 What's the point of this thread? We already have one topic on this, which is perfectly fine. Why did you feel the need to post another? Not trying to be a nag, it just seems there are many repeat threads...

I do agree with you, though if you are going to make a post like this, it might be helpful to at least have a link to the other one that you are talking about.
