Sir Dillon Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I'd like to try to remove the sword from the wall. I'd then like to examine and search the lion head. It seems odd for there to be a statue of something other than a dragon in here, so perhaps there is some sort of lever or something on it.
SirNadroj Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I'd like to have a swag of gin and a cigar. Me thinks we need get to that libray and search for any evidence of construction (foundations and such).
Sir Dillon Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I'd like to have a swag of gin and a cigar. Aren't you too young to be drinking? I think it would be better for you to stay away from the alcohol.
Scouty Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Grrrr. Is there not a cup of water anywhere in this house!? I wonder if there is anything under the piano, as in the bottom. I think after that, I'll go ahead and dig through and look under the couch.
SirNadroj Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Aren't you too young to be drinking? I think it would be better for you to stay away from the alcohol. What are you: my parents? I think I can handle some gin! sheesh!
Scouty Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 What are you: my parents? What are you, foolish? The man's got a point .
SirNadroj Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 What are you, foolish? The man's got a point . What are you..... .... UGLY?
Scouty Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 What are you..... .... UGLY? Erhm, maybe we should just get back to the mystery. Peter probably has drunken it all already
Corvus Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 What are you: my parents? I think I can handle some gin! sheesh! I may not be your parent, but I am your teacher. Just wait 'till we get out of here, young sir. And since I am his teacher, I would like to take the gin and drink it myself.
Sir Dillon Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 And since I am his teacher, I would like to take the gin and drink it myself. I'll help you finish that off. We don't want it to fall into the wrong hands.
Erdbeereis Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I'll mix up some brownies to go with the rest of the gin. Or do you folks prefer chocolate chip cookies?
Scouty Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I'll mix up some brownies to go with the rest of the gin.Or do you folks prefer chocolate chip cookies? Can I have just the brownies, please? ???
Sir Dillon Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I'll mix up some brownies to go with the rest of the gin.Or do you folks prefer chocolate chip cookies? How can you make brownies when we are locked out of the kitchen? Do you carry a portable oven with you everywhere? I prefer chocolate brownies. Without nuts.
Shadows Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Without nuts. If you were looking to avoid nuts, you've come to the wrong party... Now, leave my gin alone. I left a perfectly good bottle of port for you lightweights.
Hinckley Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 While I'm working on deciphering this code, I'd like to ask Mr. Dunne what he thought of the article we found...
Dragonator Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 I'll look in all the glasses, check the platters for engraving or any hidden notes, obviously I'm going to check out the whiskey and slip the gin in my pocket for later, then I'll move on to the glass bits on top, peering under the white cloth and then to the small red dragon, carefully examining all of it's fine details for anything helpful. Peter does all this but does not find anything except a little dust. It is noted however that there are spaces for two more red wine glasses in front of the four already in there, and there is also a large space at one end of the bottom shelf, probably where the glass decanter normally lives. Michael removes the sword from the wall. It comes away easily, and can be put back just as easily. The lion head is just that, a lions head. You cannot see any niches or hidden compartments on it. John takes a look at the underside of the piano, but does not find anything there. He then walks over to the couches and takes a look underneath them, as well as digging through the pillows. Amongst the pillows on the eastern couch he finds a Mont Blanc fountain pen. While I'm working on deciphering this code, I'd like to ask Mr. Dunne what he thought of the article we found... It is perfectly acceptable to interrogate each other on anything you think may be important to the case. Feel free to ask each other questions.
Sandy Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 If no one else has done it yet, I'd like to take a look at the sideboard on the right. Oh, and I would also like to open the Mont Blanc pen to see if anything is hidden in the ink compartment. Also, can anyone scribble a map of this place? I'm confused about which rooms are connected...
Scouty Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Also, can anyone scribble a map of this place? I'm confused about which rooms are connected... We can use this pen I just found ! I would like to examine the pen to notice any detailing, then, perhaps if it can be, open it. Maybe there'll be a note inside!
Hinckley Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 It is perfectly acceptable to interrogate each other on anything you think may be important to the case. Feel free to ask each other questions. Fine, I'll do it myself. Yo, Dunne. Weird that your name was all over that article. What do you think about that?
Dragonator Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 Miss Sandy walks over to the sideboard and takes a look. There is a lovely white embroidered cloth covering the polished wooden top, and centred on this is a modern piece of Ceramic. It is a boat-shaped bowl sitting on a tripod, done in various shades of blue and green. It looks rather expensive. Also on the sideboard are two vases, one on either side of the Ceramic sculpture, depicting twinning Chinese-style dragons done in soft blues. There are two large draws in the sideboard. The left one contains a pile of sheet music, a metronome, and a tuning fork. The right one contains a poker set, six packs of Bicycle-branded playing cards, a roulette roller and cloth playing mat and a small tin containing assorted dice. On the top is a digital camera inside a pouch. There is also a cable with three round plugs at one end (coloured yellow, red and white) and a small square plug at the other. Also, can anyone scribble a map of this place? I'm confused about which rooms are connected... I'll see what I can do. John meanwhile takes a look at the pen. There are no markings on the outside. Opening it reveals the ink compartment (which is three quarters full) but no note. It is just an ordinary pen.
Shadows Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 On the top is a digital camera inside a pouch. There is also a cable with three round plugs at one end (coloured yellow, red and white) and a small square plug at the other.[/i] Oooh, nice, I'll take that, I'm good with these things. I'd like to use the built in screen to review the pictures and any video it may contain, and I'll keep the cable in case we need to connect it to a tv at some point.
Sandy Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Ooh, so many nice things! I'll check the music sheets for any weird markings. I'd also like to peek into the bowl and vases, and take out whatever might be hidden inside them.
Dragonator Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Peter takes out the digital camera and turns it on. It contains 42 pictures all of which depict various shots of the outside of the manor, the majority from the other side of the river. There are no other photos on it. Miss Sandy meanwhile takes a look at the music sheets, most of which are works by famous composers (Bach, Beethoven, Schubert etc. ). You do not find anything out of the ordinary. You also carefully look inside the bowl and two vases, however they are all empty...

Reminds me of the kind of shots you take when you're planning to do some renovating. Seems like more and more evidence is piling up in that direction. Now, since this cryptogram is pure crap and none of us can figure it out (I've had a team of experts attempt it as well), I'm going to run into the other room for a moment and consult with Anthony. *runs into the other room and discusses matters with Anthony who reveals that he thinks the cryptogram is crap as well, then returns* Ok, it's agreed, we think it's crap. We need a clue or this little red glass dragon is going down, mister!
Dragonator Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Ok, it's agreed, we think it's crap. We need a clue or this little red glass dragon is going down, mister! Careful with that, it's expensive! That is, um, it looks expensive. Yes. Anyway, as I said earlier, it isn't a cryptogram, so try a different method. I can assure you that it is solvable.
