Hey guys, this is my fourth and most successful attempt at building a Spaceship so far. I really find Space the very hardest theme to create, as it doesn't build from the bottom up in most cases, and requires many different techniques. Thus I'm not getting ahead of myself yet. Anyway, without further ado, I give you the Phoenix Fighter:

The Phoenix is a legendary fighter said to be modified from outmoded spacecraft by the deadly assassin Azrael. Not much is known about Azrael, only that the killer seems to be pursuing a solo mission:

Shot of landing skids down. And now up:

That's right, I got a new camera, so now I can do extreme closeups

Random neat shot:

Top shot, I slightly modelled it after the shape of a Phoenix art on the web:

The cockpit. By actually making controls I'm already improving

Neat use of the Batman torso and Clone armour though huh?

In flight:

In flight cockpit shot:

Evading the law, as if Clones ever shot well anyway:

Swoosh!

Coming for you and Now skeedaddling!

And Azrael in the flesh:

Hope you enjoyed, comments appreciated as always!

AHRGADGFSNHASDFBGD The Fleshtone.. It BURNNNNNNNNS

Otherwise: Coolsome, nice and simple looking (my fighters end up looking a bit OTT due to hyperactive greebling...) I love the tail and the wings. Very swooshable :classic:

Another great work, BatBrick

I remember when you started working on Mecha: you said it was the most difficult theme you had faced so far, but you made giant steps in little time, so I'm sure you'll bring us wonderful starships in no time

As for this first attempt, it's not bad at all

I like small crafts and big ones. But I find a good small ship to be more difficult to build than a big one: on a big model you have a lot of space to add lots of detailing. But a small vassel requires more accurate planning an often you need to take the model apart at half-way in the construction to add a shockingly cool new feature you just discovered

What I like most in your Phoenix are the landing skids: I never saw such a use of those pieces, and I find it very ingenious. And the top shot really exalts the bird-like shape

Can't wait to see more space MOCs from you :sweet:

A very nice and harmonious fighter that really lives up to his name, well done!

It´s also very fine to see some solid landing gear, but maybe the front gun (?)

looks too close to it and could need some additional detailing...

Good character, and a nice surprise... a girl pilot. I like that your little ship has moving landing gear. Usually that is something that we see on bigger ships. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. :)
