First one was ok. Second one sucked megablocks. Third one was good. (most realistic). Now we have the 4th installment of the F&F franchise.

Not bad. Looks like there will be a nice variety of cars ranging from imports, American muslce, trucks and euros. Best part is the oringinal cast has returned. :classic:

There's a second trailer out, but can't seem to find a decent quality one.

I think this should be posted in the movie trailer thread.

Anyway, I am kinda looking forward to this since it looks good and I liked all the previous installments. However, I am aftaid it will be a bit over-the-top when I see Vin Diesel drive under a jumping, flaming truck and surviving it with barely a scratch to his car. :sceptic:

Here you can see the theatrical trailer and pics of the stars & cars of this film.

There are other threads about movie trailers already. Anyways, we can also use this thread to discuss the past movies. :classic: As far as being "over the top", ya, i'd have to agree. All three were over the top at somepoint, but if the worst is Vin Deisel driving under a burning tranker trailer, then i can live with that. The first two movies were sofar fetched it wasn't even funny. :hmpf_bad:

I hope it does have hard core racing in it. More importantly it needs to be realistic. My major gripe with the first two movies was that they were way to far fetched. The Mitsubishi Eclipse in the first movie shifting 7 times in the begining, the blant over use of nitrous in the first two films, unrealistic racing scenes. I think thats why Tokyo Driftwas the best. Realistic stunt driving (All drifting done by profesional drifters) and cars that actually represented what you could see on the street and not over done show cars. This new movie seems to have all the good things Tokyo Drift had, so hopfully it will be good. Sofar i like what i've seen in the trailers.

ok, its hardcore street racing but there is a lot of crime stuff you can tell from the different clips and trailers

Thats what i meant. They street race in all the movies with some kind of crime sindicate being part of the main story. Nothing really new. I just hope that the "Street racing" is more realistic like in Tokyo drift.

not a chance of it being realistic, look at his "digital speedometer" at the beginning, its like 2f2f. and btw, do you expect a car driving under a bouncing, flaming truck to be realistic? the only realistic parts are when that guy (dont wanna be racist but the white guy) is doing his undercover business

Good point!

Btw, if you don't wanna sound racist, say "Caucasian".

What does a digital speedo have to do with realistic driving? While your correct that it is digital, and it is like 2F2F, digital speedos are real. A car udriving under a flaming truck? Could happen. The Chevelle doing a wheele on the street? A little far fetched. That said, i don't count those two things as rulling out "non-realistic driving". If they can do drving scenes simular to Tokyo drift, and less like 2F2F, then i'll be happy. We'll have to wait and see. I came to cope after the first F&F movie that movies like this are meant to #1 entertain, #2 be real. And thats ok. A movie like this should be made to entertain. As long as they don't have 2 mile long "1/4 mile" drag races, 7 shifts to get up to speed, and an over abundant use of nitrous, then i'll be happy. This is a hollywood movie with street racing. If this was a movie with F1 racing, then that would be different.

Now thats not to say that i wouldn't want a movie with more realistic driving/racing. When the original F&F came out i was knee deep in the Import Racing scene. I had a Toyota Celica that i had "tricked" out a bit, but all my upgrades were for performance. My frineds and i were uterly disgusted with the first movie cause it was so far from what actual street racing was. The movie portrayed it as nothing but neon lights, drugs, and crime. Not that i condone illeagal street racing, but that was not what it was about. Hollywood just did what they wanted to make it more appealing to the masses. This is were i can relate a little bit to the transformer G1 fans. But to be honest, i can't say i blame hollywood

for not taking the "realistic" approach to the import car scene. Know one really wants to see a bunch of basicly stock looking Hondas and Toyotas run up and down the street. I get that.

I just got done seeing the movie. I thought it was at least as good as the other 3. It was somewhat more serious. The criminal element was a lot more center stage in this one. I think that worked though onsidering this comes off like a sequel to the first movie so we already know that some people are cops and others are criminals. It was nice seeing most of the original cast at least for a little while. A cameo towards the begining cements at least part of this movie taking place before Tokyo Drift. Overall I liked the movie.

No doubt. The cameo in the begining was a nice touch and unexpected.

I really liked the movie. Good variation of cars, great action, good racing (not great, but considering its a hollywood movie, not bad.) Yes, a couple of the racing scenes were bit far fetched, but i think the end result was rather good. Nice to see cars that weren't over done too. Over all a really good movie. Defenatly better than the first two, but i'm still up in air if it was better than the third.
