Mhm... these barriers are interesting (are they?)...

Y'all be careful up there. I'll stay here and keep watch, while I have a looksee at these barriers.

I'd like to go upstairs as well.......

Oh my god! You better stay at least three feet from me, or I'll swear I'll shoot you for real this time.

Um, Miss Hellanor, could I stick with you. I think this is going to be Killin' Geroge's attempt to kill me right now. I'll supply a forcefield if you supply your gun. Together we'll be the perfect team! :sweet:

You guys are both so damn crazy. :hmpf: I'm not going to kill anybody....but I might try......

Just joking! Seriously though.....

Since we're both so crazy, we make a great couple! Invisblity, activate!

*Howard stands still for a few seconds and then slowly, careful to to touh anything, walks toward Hellanor, and gets very close to her chest*

The group climbs the staircase carefully before entering the small second floor switch tower. Inside, there appears to be some sort of switching control system.

There are seven electronic switches, each numbered with an UP or DOWN switch. Button one is set in the DOWN position. The others (2-7) are set in the UP position.

Four large light bulbs are connected to the top of the control system. The two to the left are lit up in red; the two to the right lit up in green.

A small "X" is etched in the window next to the control system.

*walks up the stairs*

Ok, let's not touch anything. Hmmm...maybe that 'X' on the window is the one that the map refers to. Does anyone else think it a little strange that a simple signal box is marked with a mark of such importance? Maybe it's a little more than a signal box after all...

Posted

Yay, we found the "X". Now, what do we see through this window?

As far as the switches go, now it seems only one route is available in and out of the town. I wonder where our train is located in this network of rails? Mr. Conductor, can you tell?

Posted

*Rushes up stairs.*

Ah ha! There is our X, obviously we are meant to do something with these switches. The question is, what?

I wonder what happens when I press this button... *moves button one into the up position*

I would also like to compare our map to these switches to see which lines are the ones that lead out of town, and where the railway shed, if it is on this circuit, is located.

*grabs Mark's arm before he can touch the switch*

No! If you touch these without knowing what you're doing, you could destroy the whole line switching system. And if you do that, we may NEVER get out of this town.

Although I do like your idea of examining the maps points and the points here. Did anyone wonder why the map was hidden behind a poster behind a locked door?

This is boring. We're going to have to test all of the switches. We can't just sit around. I assume that up means that the system is currently on. Luckily, I'm still invisible, so no one will be able to stop me from doing this before it's too late. I also am currently using my soliloquy power, so no one just heard what I said.

*Howard walks slowly towards the first lever and bigins to pull it down*

Ok, but if you mess up the system, we'll shoot you. Actually, I'm beginning to think you're the council member. He was the first to accuse the mayor of being evil, he could well have hit me with the meat clever and he's currently trying to destroy the point system so that the Emerald Express can never leave town. In fact...

*punches Howard in the face knocking him backward before he touches the switch*

Keep your gun on him Elanor.

Ouch. My invisibilty must be wearing off. Now so a quick escape!

*Howard runs into the window, assumely hoping it will break. It does not.*

Uff. My head. Howard suffers one life point damage. What the heck are life points. Why'd I say that. I hope that giant voice in the sky isn't trying to take me over.

Anyways, I'm not he town council man. I don't actually have any ways to prove that, other than saying that I really am trying to help you folks, and revealing something I wish I didn't have to, since it was my edge for a tiny bit. I was orginally going to stay in town, or so the voice in teh sky told me. But then, right before we got split into groups, the voice told me to change my mind, and I was happy to comply (the voice told me to stay at first, but I wanted to go). While I was evil, Jethro told me he was evil too! :look:

I concluded that my change of heart was so that each group could have one town council man. I think that means the town council man in our group is Kill'in George. He simply acts suspcious, and whenever I accuse him, he calls me insane. Me? Insane? Yeah right. I think the voice in teh sky would of told me if I was insane. :hmpf_bad:

Anyways, now we've just got to find those other council members. And turn the swtich. Why else would we be here except to turn the switch. I mean pull the lever. Pull the Johnson Rod? What's a Johnson Rod? I must of hit my head hard.

Hey folks! Welcome to Willoughby. Real lovely town, small, but a real nice town. Who are you? What are you doing? Do you know that Willoughby has a population of only about 20? I sure did! We're what some people call a ghost town. It's very spooky sometimes. All my neighbors moved away, can't imagine why. *Laughs at his own joke* Boy oh boy. One of them told me I was a pain in the... well, nether regions....

Did I already say this?

Max conducts a very detailed examination of the switching system.

Pulling out the map that was found in the train station, Mark attempts to match the seven "switch points" with those marked on the map. It appears that five of the points parallel one another (please note that the picture of the switching system does not depict the actual configuration mentioned below).

1 - A point toward the back of the train engine shed.

2 - A point near Main Street.

3 - A point near the Rail Road Crossing (marked with an "X" on the map).

4 - A point near a farm marked with some sort of sign.

5 - Another point past the farm.

6 - Torn off the map (but maybe before something that looks like a tunnel).

7 - Torn off the map.

Max continues studying the configuation closely, then says with excitement, "I think I've got it"! :sweet:

Someone has programmed the Switching System with the seven coordinates. We must switch each of the seven points to the correct configuration. When this happens, the four lights on the unit will most probably turn green indicating that we have selected the correct configuration. This system must control the switch tracks within the town and surrounding area, and may lead to a route out of Willoughby.

Now, we just need to figure out the correct configuration. :sadnew:

*Is tugged up by Eleanor*

Well, I say we get too it. Killin' George can be tied to a train track or somethin'.

Hmm... configuration, eh?

Hmm, that must mean that half of the switches are already in the correct position. I hope we have endless amount of tries with this machine...

Let's begin by switching DOWN numbers 4 and 5, which both are near the farm. Keep an eye on the lights, people!

Hmmm, how interesting. Certainly we need to change some of these, but which ones? I think we need to set up a line that goes from town to number seven, as I have a feeling one of those two tracks torn off the map leads out of town.

I guess what we really need to know is how the other groups have got on with finding what we need, as I think we'll need to pool everything we have found t get out of here.

*Glances out the window, then looks again*

Is that something moving along the line? It looks like there is something heading this way, I can't make it out though...

Hey look! It's a hand car, and is that...? yes, it is... It's Herman (and I don't mean Munster). There's our farm friends, and Bulldog, and the other dog. Why's he got a kettle? (perhaps its a clue).

(begins smudging nose up against the glass in excitement)
