Emperor Claudius Rome Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I they do, someone needs to remake that scene from "Braveheart" Quote
Dadster Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Always nice to get a faction/ theme IMO. The faces could be done easily enough and all they'd have to do is create some more "skirts" (think Asajj Ventress...) in different colors - maybe make them a bit shorter though. Quote

If they do that I really hope they don't make them realistic and have them next to nude underneath Quote
mikey Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 If we have to believe the pictures of the game are signs (wich I think is very unlikely) then it's a good possibility that they will be the opponent of the Romans. One of the things the Roman writers commented on during the conquest of Britain was the fact that the native British wore trousers, I assume this was also the case in Gaul. Quote
SWMAN Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 It would be great if they did, but they wouldn't be called Scotsmen. They would probably be the reincarnation of the Wolf Pack. Quote
BlueBard Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Mmh, they look wonderful, of course, but Scotsmen aren't too "historical" for a Fantasy theme? Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 It would be nice to have them as the faction opposing the rumored elves. That would work nicely. LEGO already has a ton of themes coming out in 2010, so I doubt we will be seeing a lot more new original themes. Elves and Scottish would be awesome. Quote
Zorro Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Scottish would be great, but I wouldn't know how they would come to that theme. Elvish people are of a greater possibility on the other side. Quote
blueandwhite Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Were Jacobites really that medieval? I love the whole Braveheart thing, but from what I remember the costuming in that movie wasn't exactly historically accurate (Mel looks more like a Jacobite from the 1700s). I guess they could be shoehorned into the castle line but I'm inclined to think elves or forestmen would be more fitting. Quote

While the story and William Wallace were both way overdramatized, I am pretty sure the costumes, weapons, and battles were pretty accurate. Gibson loves historical movies, and I am pretty sure he did it right. Quote

Look at apocolypto, he portrayedthe mayans more like the aztecs. Woad (The blue paint mel was wearing) Was from before that age. A Plad kilts appeared much later. Quote
Sir Wellington Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I hope so, that way I can use the scots pants to add to my British Napoleonic Army for my scots regiment. Quote
Adam Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Firstly, You do realise how childish that is. Secondly, read the guidelines in a while?:Manners and Serious Topics: Don't be offensive to other members. We like Eurobricks to be a friendly place to discuss LEGO and won't allow posts that are intended to offend or attack. For the same reason, topics about religion or politics are not welcome on Eurobricks. English skills and Clarity: Try to be clear and precise when posting and use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. We do tolerate bad English as we are a site that welcomes users from all around the world, but we don't tolerate laziness. No l33t sp34k or "texting language". We don't criticize international users who are non-native English speakers, but are trying to post in English. You probably couldn't do as well in their language. Bear this in mind. Anyway, The Lego Indiana jones games, There was the Venice chase right? Look whats come out as a set? So there could be a chance. ... You do realize that was a joke, don't you? The use of leet speak was to emphasize the fact that Dano thinks the idea of making Scotsmen is ludicrous. I didn't find the post offensive at all, or at least, I didn't find anything offensive in it. He was just stating his point. But then again, I'm on his side in this matter, so I can't help but speak with a little bias... Either way, he was joking, not trying to sound like an illiterate jerk. On the point of the Venice set, what does that have to do with TLG making Scotsmen? Everything is a sign of the return of anything here on EB Get with the times! Get off my lawn! I don't disagree that it'd be nice to have a kilt and Braveheart. However, I sincerely doubt that TLG would produce a whole theme or subtheme around a character from a video game, especially a character that will likely have a one-shot appearance. Quote

Captain Zuloo Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I think we are just as likely to see sets from this as we are from LEGO Rock Band. Probability=0. That's not to say that I wouldn't like sets from these themes - a scotsman would be awesome! That fig looks great and it would be wonderful to see it in the flesh...or plastic... Quote
Capt. Redblade Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Acch! This be a richt prood day fer m'sel' i' it pools throo, bein' ha' Scottish as oi am! (Translation: If they do make Braveheart-esque Celts, it will make me proud, as I'm half Scottish.) Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 If we do get them and I hope we do. I hope they have cloth kilts and not printed ones. Quote
