I'd like to go through the trap door as well. It's getting dark and since we don't have any matches and no one here breathes fire, we should probably go to bed and explore a bit more in the morning.

Yes, let's do that.

*Cut to the morning*

Okay, can we go now?

Really? Wow, I really admire you, you invented watches! :hmpf:

Oh you are funny :classic:

:hmpf_bad:

Nothing is dicovered in your search.

Darn, too bad.

Yes, let's do that.

I'm in agreement with Eleanor here, Much as I'm scared around her, we should explore this here trapdoor tomorrow when the light is brighter an' we can see what's down there. We've had too many darn injuries and even fatalities to risk it I say.

*stirs*

Huh? Oh, sorry about that, I must have dozed off. Now, about this creepy place...

Hans Beckmen, David Gaylord, Conductor Max, and Jim Butcher all have one of those pins. It seems one of them might have been here previously.

I still have mine, as far as I know.

Inside is some sort of storage room with lots of hanging tools including blades, saws, log picks, bands, and ropes. In addition, there's three barrels in the corner of the room marked "explosives". Large windows face the river and a door is located at the far end of the room.

Do all mills have explosives in them? If not, I think this supports the theory of Jennifer blowing up the town with explosives and that oil tanker.

I'd like to follow the others down the trap door.

Well, am I good or what? A trap door aye? I knew my Lv. 56 scavenger skills would come in handy. :sweet:

Well, I am content with my findings, I think I'll sit here with my empty lamp and celebrate with a game of cards before bed. Anyone in? We can play while those others head downstairs if they are going, so we won't be missed. I'm up for another round of poker, need to win back a bit of what I lost on the train.

Opening the trap door, a set of wooden stairs descend into darkness. A fowl stench can be smelled below. Pete leads the group down the stairs carefully, as each walk slowly... STEP... STEP... STEP... CREAK......

At the bottom is a large room which appears to be the basement. It is cold and damp. There are a number of barrels in the room, some wooden crates, and a horrible odor coming from the darkness ahead. A rat scurries by as you grab one another from the surprise! :oh:

*lets go of Brakes then sniffs* Mmmmm, that smells like home! *runs towards the smell, barreling through the darkness with wanton disregard for his own safety*

Oh my god, did someone die in here?

Let's check those barrels and crates to see what they hold.

*mumbles* Please don't let it be body parts, please don't let it be body parts...

Don't say it...

I'd like to help Sandy inspect the crates and barrels (), seeing if any of them open, and moving them to see what's underneath.

Again, Sandy? Who are you people talking about?!

Hmmm... the theory about Jennifer wanting to blow up the town is very intriguing. But how would she have moved the oil tanker from here to the downtown? There must be a working engine around here somewhere? Isn't there something blocking the valve on the tanker? Someone named Jethro tried to open the valve to drain all of the fuel but something blocked it. What could that have been? Do you think Jennifer did that? Maybe she dropped something in to prevent such sabotage!

How scary. :oh: I'd like to squeeeeeeze myself in between Jim and Eleanor and help them search the barrels.

A closer look at the barrels reveal a total of four, all containing a variety of supplies.

Barrel #1 is filled with what smells like kerosene, about half-full, most likely caused by evaporation.

Barrel #2 is filled with pickles. The sour odor is pretty strong without the lid.

Barrel #3 is filled with fuel, also about half empty.

Barrel #4 is filled with what looks like water, but it's not too clear (sort of murky).

The crates contain a variety of rotten food including potatoes and onions, some canned goods (pork & beans, veggies, stew), four bottles of wine, and some pickling jars.

The smell coming from the distance is pretty strong...

The stench reminds me of something. If I can't pinpoint it and rule out any sort of flammable material, I suggest we leave this hatch and come back in the daylight in hopes of having better lighting down here.

Since I've been running at full speed all night in the direction of the stench, I wouldn't mind knowing what I've discovered. :hmpf:

*Gives up any hope of waiting till morning and runs down with the others*

*cough* This here is one mighty bad smell. I agree Herman partner, let's not light any matches down here 'less we wanna get burnt ourselves. I'm goin' by the rather obvious presumption that no one has a flashlight, so this situation could be tricky. We've all had disagreements in the past, but I think we should put it ta a vote if we're gonna go ahead now or later.

Jim Butcher reaches into the barrel containing water, feels around, and pulls out a gun.

WARNING: Adult Content!

The group then decides to continue into darkness as the smell grows stronger by the footstep.

The flashlight shines upon something lying upon the cobblestone ground. It appears to be two dead bodies, one male, one female. In looking at the ghastly white corpses, you can not help to realize that you have seen these two individuals somewhere before. Yes, you have. While their skin has begun to rot, you realize that these are the people whose pictures you saw within Jennifer's locket. They're bodies have been thrown within the dark room admist the most shallowest of graves... the damp basement floor.

While the sight is revolting, you are forced to look upon their skeletal-like bodies, realizing that they have suffered death by gunshot wounds.

Half of the group runs out of the basement while the others stare at the gruesome sight. :oh:

*Continues to stare*

Darn....that is one mighty grisly sight. Poor souls, this is even more serious than we thought it was. They've obviously been here a long while....see this why I told you we shoulda not just run inna here! Darn...

They were in Jennifer's locket, so they woulda been close ta her. Any other ideas? Darn...

Pfoeey! I did my apprenticeship in a Belgian abbatoir, so a few rancid cuts of meat aren't going to send me bawling.

Let's search their pockets for clues! They may have some kind of ID, or letters, papers or some other objects which may tell us something about their identities or circumstances.

One of our gun experts may be able to tell us whether the barrel firearm was the one which prematurely punctured these pallid peeps.

I'd like to take Mark's lamp, put kerosene in it, and give it back.

I would like to take my own lamp and fill it with kerosene thank you very much. Then I will light it and go downstairs to see if I can shed some light on the situation. Get it? Oh I'm so witty...

I heard someone mention dead bodies! I knew I'd found something good! First our map, and now this. :sweet: How strange...

I wonder who did ths, and why? Was it a town council member? Was it someone seeking revenge? Was it Jennifer herself, for some strange twisted reason? I don't know, but it's fun speculating.

Ahhhhhhhhh! *oh2*:sick::cry_sad:

Schmelt, hold my nuts! I'm gonna make that horse from lunch reappear!

Horrible... I still think that these are Jennifer's parents, maybe one of them Rose Thornton...

One of our gun experts may be able to tell us whether the barrel firearm was the one which prematurely punctured these pallid peeps.

I'd like to check the magazine, determining if there are any empty shells or if shots were fired recently. I'd also like to determine what type of gun it is (pistol, revolver, rifle, etc.).
