The Crazy One Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Makuta does not give power to the Skrall. They'll remain powerless. Greg said so, I believe. Warriors of Makuta!Although driven from their city, the evil Skrall warriors are quick to ally with Makuta to try to seize Bara Magna. Wielding new powers of shadow, the Skrall are more dangerous than ever before. Includes one of six golden armor pieces. I assume the Shop description is reliable enough. Trionx Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) *Stars come to BM*Makuta gives powers to Skrall *Tahu turns mata again by the Ignika *Find gold armor *Go to great volcano *Defeat Makuta *Happy ending Is actual crap. Of course it's crap if you list it like that. :P But we also hardly have any info beyond the VERY BASIC PLOT. It's like looking at Star Wars and complaining because all that happens in it is: *Evil Empire builds superweapon. *Farm boy is suddenly involved in the fight. *Boy discovers he's the only one who can destroy it. *Boy destroys superweapon while main villain flies of into space. If you look at it like that, it seems really stupid. Of course it became one of the most well-known films in history. EDIT: Here's a better way of explaining it: You're looking at the basic outline for the year. You can look at ANY story this way and it'll look really boring. Wait until we get into the story before judging it. Edited December 16, 2009 by Darth Bionics

Refia Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I assume the Shop description is reliable enough. Nope. Greg said it ain't true.
The Crazy One Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Nope. Greg said it ain't true. Really? Hmmm.....
God Iron Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Don't worry my friends, we still might get the sets (E.G. Dinosaur and Space Craft) In the new theme coming out in the summer. Don't lose hope yet!
Xion Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Don't worry my friends, we still might get the sets (E.G. Dinosaur and Space Craft) In the new theme coming out in the summer. Don't lose hope yet! Giant robo-dinosaurs? Really? For some reason they don't appeal to me. Especially since they'll be built with a piraka torso and non-moveable limbs :P
Trionx Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Don't forget, uh, this thing called THE KARDAS DRAGON? I would buy a line of those.
The Alchemyst Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Did everyone forget about Skirmix so soon? Pretty much. He sucked. And the "Mechanical" part of Bio-Mechanical makes me think Laser Cyborg Dinosaurs. But on second thought, the sets would probably have been really nasty, using Av-toran bodies. Or those new Ben10 bodies, i.e. Bigger Av-toran bodies. [-TA-]
CabooseBM Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Eh, dinosaurs make everything better. Everything.
KonguChan Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Eh, dinosaurs make everything better. Everything. i agree, the dinosaurs >> all i am so sad because i waiting for a Bio-Saur but... ROCK RAPTOR!!!
Zip Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Pretty much. He sucked. Well, you can't expect anything more than that.
ultimate antrozek Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Pop just makes a friggin great job drawing the ProtoNui and MakutaNui. And THE CUBE makes a apparition in the comic. "WHERE IS THE CUBE!?" - Megatron "MATA NUI TAKED IT!" - Starscream "Ohh...you Fail me as again Starscream...GET HIM" - Megatron The most funny thing is that there is a door EXACTLY on the MakutaNui feet. If the Glatorian pilots were on the head..and the door to enter there is on the Robot feet...what's up? They maybe died of exthausion after reach the Coliseum. (I know they died during the Great cataclism..but it's funny) And I think that I already know for what the Golden armor will be used: To power up ProtoNui robot so he can defeat Makuta without kill the matoran inside him and then unite Bara Magna and his moons once again

The robots were drawn beautifully, but... the storyline actually had me moaning out loud. I really hope things change/are portrayed better in the book we're supposed to get, because that was... awful. Just an example - Teridax fires a blast at the Glatorian on the ground; how could that have not killed them... ? He's over 40,000,000ft tall, and yet he can still see them down there? And launch a beam, so small, that all it does it knock them over? ...and don't even get me started on the door in his foot... As I said - great art, but horrible plotline. It felt rushed; that feeling in itself is all too familiar. But that's just my impression... Spoiler'd, just in case. Edited December 19, 2009 by Hydrobius
God Iron Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I think I just saw Bionicle's replacement and I'm scared very scared.
Bfahome Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I think I just saw Bionicle's replacement and I'm scared very scared. What, where, and why so scared?
ΩArchiteuthisΩ Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Just a note- Look at the basic frames of the Ben 10 sets Now look at Proto-Nui's body Coincidence?
_shaddow_ Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I think I just saw Bionicle's replacement and I'm scared very scared. Don't be afraid, i think i've seen what you're talking about (on brickshelf) and it's just some old megabloks. Sorry, i'm too lazy to find the gallery.
Bfahome Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Just a note-Look at the basic frames of the Ben 10 sets Now look at Proto-Nui's body Coincidence? Not quite sure I see the similarities, but the head looks a bit like the Kraahkan. Edited December 19, 2009 by Bfahome
CabooseBM Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Not quite sure I see the similarities, but the head looks a bit like the Kraahkan. The head bands rather remind me of Movie Starscream, to be honest, and the mouth area of some mask from the Mahri-Nui year... I like the overall design, though.
ShaddowCroc Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Wow. That comic was pretty epic. Sure it seems kinda rushed, but you can't blame Greg for trying. Besides, Mata Nui and Makuta finally fighting is the most awesome thing ever. Especially since they called each other 'brother' multiple times. That just makes everything so much more nostalgic and epic. I'm glad BIONICLE will end with an epic giant robot fight, then the giant robots working together to fix the original problem. There were a lot of Transformers references in this one though, even the preview of the next comic is called "And One Shall Fall" . . .
Erebus Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Well of course it will be rushed. There's only one more comic left. At least the novel covers both comics with more detail.
Cap'n Kopaka Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Even though the comic was predictable and the story was lame overall (I mean, a trapdoor in his foot that a bunch of Rahkshi and Takanuva just happen to pop out of? Come on :\) I think the Mata Nui confronting Makuta was pretty gratifying... in all honesty, this isn't a bit unlike what I imagined Mata Nui beside his evil brother would look like all the way at the beginning :3 ~cap'n
The Dor Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Anyone else totally loving how awesome it is that each of the robots is designed to be piloted by the other pilot?
