Commander Assassin Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I am currently waiting for my first Brickforge order, and even though I have been familiar with their products, I have not seen or held any in person. How does the quality relate to Lego? How does the quality relate to Brickarms? Have you been satisfied with their products? Quote

How does the quality relate to Lego? How does the quality relate to Brickarms? Have you been satisfied with their products? The quality is amazing. Some headgear can be a tad tight, and not all colors are exact matches to Lego, but what do you expect? I have been very pleased with their products. I have no Brickarms yet, so I can't compare to them. Quote
SlyOwl Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 As said, the quality is very good. The plastic and colours are as near to official as you're going to get, and I love the designs, especially the turban/Arabian helmet combo. My only concerns are - - Some of the weapons don't fit very snugly in a minifig hand - but some squeezing alleviates this. - Some "mould scraps" - thin bits of excess plastic left over from production still attached. Can be shaved off with a craft knife. I've only experienced this on the round shield, though. But those are minor details. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Some headgear can be a tad tight Do you remember what ones? In this order the only helmets I am getting are the Battle Helmet and the Space Marine Helmet. Do you remember if it was one of them? Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 If you see that they're online for some time I guess the quality is good... just my thought. Quote
PrincessAriana Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Being a Smithy over at BrickForge, I can honestly say I haven't had a problem with any of the products yet. The colors are always of the highest quality and the prices are fair. The trans colored items are exceptionally nice I recommend that you buy at least one of everything to see how they all stack up. Tanotrooper Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Do you remember what ones? In this order the only helmets I am getting are the Battle Helmet and the Space Marine Helmet. Do you remember if it was one of them? The military helmet fits a bit too snugly, usually pulling the head of the torso if you want to remove the helmet. But hold on to the face and the helmet can be removed. Overall I'm happy with the quality. TT Quote
Omicron Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Do you remember what ones? In this order the only helmets I am getting are the Battle Helmet and the Space Marine Helmet. Do you remember if it was one of them? Sometimes they are loose, sometimes they are tight. Just wiggle them off and they will come off quickly if you come across that problem. Brickforge, like Brickarms, is of great quality. They don't break easily, and if they do break, that would only mean you forced that upon them. I do say this though, that if you purchased the new "soft plastic" items (NV goggles, the belts), that they are meant to be flexible and not stretcheable. -Omi Quote

But hold on to the face and the helmet can be removed.Bingo. Some of them were very tight at first, but they become easier to remove after I have switched them around a lot.The Turban was also a tad loose, but still works perfectly. Quote
Jebediahs Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I've only recently gotten back into LEGO in July after about a 20 year stint in the Dark Ages. Brickforge has been there every step of the way as I've (re)built my LEGO collection. I've had zero problems with my multiple orders and every piece fits with the official LEGO minifigs beautifully. Also, my orcs appreciate BF's high quality weapons. ;) Quote
ED-209 Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I've bought their Viking helmets - which are excellent (and accurate, yay!), beards, and the pigs. I've found them all to be of a very high quality, and would recommend them wholeheartedly. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 I received my Brickforge order yesterday. I am quite pleased with them except that all of my helmets are tight, and the color is more off than I have seen with my products that I have bought on other custom Lego sites... The biggest plus is that I received two free weapons with my order! Quote

Keep in mind that it is a task to match the colors too. -Omi Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) I meant more off than other custom lego products I have received. Especially the dark grey. Overall, great quality, except for the packaging. There must have been a heavy package on top of the bubble mailer, because one of my sets of armor has a crack in it and the other has several stress marks... Other than that, I am greatly pleased, especially with the free weapons and the Battle Helmets. Edited September 20, 2009 by Clone Commander Assassin Quote
Omicron Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I meant more off than other custom lego products I have received. Especially the dark grey. You do realize that their dark grey products is not based on the bley? -Omi Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Oh yes, I do. I actually think that their bley is fairly accurate. I compared it to the original dk. gray, and it seemed, well, just real different. Quote

I compared it to the original dk. gray, and it seemed, well, just real different. Well, until LEGO gives up their recipe we'll continue to be at 99% match. We offer something like 20 different colors, which is exponentially more than any other custom vendor - so I'm not sure who you are comparing us to. Also, shoot me an e-mail and I can replace the armor. -A Edited September 24, 2009 by Armothe Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 I was mostly just reffering to the dark gray. The others were pretty close. As for the armor, I'm okay. I don't think it was your fault, I think it was the Post Office's. And just to let you know, I loved the free weapons. Those were definitely a plus. Quote
