Peppermint_M Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I was sorting bricks by colour the other day (I still am ) and noticed I had a lot of 2x4 slopes and 4x4 sloped corners in dark red. I combined them with my large wheels, a stubby barrel and some dark bley inverts to create a minitank. I added a few details and two of the dozen or so red racer creatures I own and thus a new faction in my ever expanding universe was born. With heavy weapons. I hope to build more within this faction in keeping with this first MOC. Quote
zouave Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Pretty good. I'd suggest you change the wheels. It reminds me of the tanks off Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind. I've built a minitank also, but its lightly armored for the front lines. Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Nice Peppermint_M! It's very small and cute! Well done! CommanderFox Quote
Batbrick Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Adorably cute tank, I love the top half much more than the bottom half, as it simply gels really well especially with the comical turret. The bottom half needs smaller wheels I think and a design that fits better with the top half. Batbrick Away! Quote
Paul B Technic Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Very nice, I agree with the comments above about changing the wheels to something smaller if possible. Paul Quote
Milan Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Very cute. I actually like these wheels! They are perfect for this tank! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 Thanks. I have to say that about the only thing I'd change is get rid of the bley for complete dark red, but I don't have any dark red inverts and this was a real throw-away MOC I made to kill time and I bigger MOCs to buy parts for. The wheels were supposed to give it a cartoony feel as I was thinking of the Advance Wars sprites and the Crash Bash tank battle tanks when I built it. (wow, bumped from over a month.) Quote
zouave Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) Well I found this looking for steampunk. Now that you mention it does look like Advance Wars. Edited November 4, 2009 by zouave Quote
Tereglith Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 See, that's why you should have bought more Dino Attack sets. Best source of dark red I ever bought as a foolish youth. Good tank, it looks like something from an online game. Like tank wars, from maidmarian.com, is what it first reminded me of. Quote
Big Cam Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 That is a pretty sweet little tank. It reminds me of this ancient computer game that my friends dad had on his laptop. I will be trying to figure out the name of this game for the rest of the day. Great MOC! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 9, 2009 Author Posted November 9, 2009 I am afraid Dino 2010 came out when I was a bit broke (and "too old" to be bought Lego) so I have like, four 1x2 dark red inverts. Thanks for the comments. I think I will have to build a rival tank in a similar style now. Quote
