Red Army, a really interesting doc. about Russian hockey during the cold war. I don't really like much sports (hockey is generally the exception), and I don't watch many documentaries, but this one was very fascinating.

I rewatched "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra". As I watched it again I thought, when Scarlet was driving the bike it looked CGI'ed. I would of thought it could of been done with stuns doubles. :shrug_confused:

I watched Minions Last night, it was a good film, I must say I think the Appearance of young Gru at the end was a nice touch.

I recently had my first ever blu-ray night with my parents. The film was Apollo 13, already my favorite space movie, and the best way to remember James Horner.

The last film I watched, however, was Space Camp. This story of juveniles blasted into space was overshadowed on release by the Challenger disaster, and has been unfairly panned since, IMO. It is loaded with technical errors, but in every other way it was better than I remembered it. It was one the first live action movies I saw on tv, and seeing it on a 'vanilla edition' dvd, in 4/3, on a large black tv brought back my childhood. Pure 1980something!

I myself did not enjoy it. I thought that appearance was cool, but definitely forced. Michael Keaton was great, but I felt otherwise the movie was very generic and didn't have the charm of either of the Despicable Me movies nor the Minion characters in them. :shrug_oh_well:

I saw Ant-Man. Really funny.

But the best moment was when they showed the Force Awakens trailer in the previews. As it finished a guy in front of us "woo'd", and immediately, like half the audience burst into intense applause. :grin_wub: Best thing I've seen all year.

I had a similar experience at the premier for Age of Ultron.

I also saw Ant Man. It was very good, though some moments are a bit ridiculous, but in a good way.

'Oblivion' and 'Moon'. I've really been into space movies lately. Need more.

I haven't seen oblivion, but I liked "Moon" a lot.

I just watched some dumb horror flick called "The Town that Dreaded Sundown." It can safely be missed.

Ant-Man. Sunday & today. I enjoyed it. Especially so because I didn't nit pick afterwards, since I don't know much about Ant-Man/Lang.

it was cool, but predictable seeing the new Wasp suit. It looks rad. Falcons suit is also pretty awesome looking, great fight also. The second scene though...yes! So, we now see that Cap, Falcon, & Bucky are on one side(presumably Lang as well). What & why did they not want to tell Stark about Bucky though? I'm assuming it has something to do with the arm...or is it just what you see at face value, a set up for Civil War.

My guess is you've probably seen Solaris, Prometheus and Interstellar.

So some lesser known recommendations;

Makes me wanna watch a movie as well.

Thanks for the recommendations! I haven't seen a bunch of them, including Solaris (though I have been looking for it lately).

Ooohhh.... Pandorum is a very under-rated movie; it has a horror slant to it, though, so if you like something like Aliens you'd probably like it.

Of the other ones, I've also seen Sunshine, and thought it was really good, too.

Oblivion and Moon have one common plot theme, but are otherwise opposites in many respects.

Moon is a great hard sci-fi movie. I really appreciated and enjoyed it more on the second viewing. So sad. Oblivion's got great action and amazing visuals (same director as Tron Legacy).

If you liked moon and oblivion, try Elysium and edge of tomorrow.

Elysium has been on my 'need to watch' list for a while. Edge of Tomorrow was a bit too Ground Hog Day-ish for my liking. It wasn't at all a bad movie, but it still drove me a bit crazy  .

I will be sure check these out. Thanks!

Trainwreck. John Cena & LeBron James stole the show for me, they were hilarious. Great movie overall. A ton of comedian cameos.

Ex Machina. Pretty good movie...although I was expecting more of a resolution.

I couldn't sleep after this movie! I wasn't really expecting that kind of ending.

I'm a sucker for pretty girls, so the ending messed up my mind for a bit, haha. The thing is, the AI was such a success that she was able to manipulate others to serve her own personal interests. And with no conscience, the eventuality makes sense in the end. (Although, I'm not sure how long she would last before the battery runs out.)

Struck by Lightening. Fairly low budget movie with nobody I knew in it, but it was pretty good - over 4 (out of 5) stars on Amazon Prime.

Perfect Blue. Quite possibly one of my new favourite movies. The film's an excellent psychological thriller, and a great mind screw at times. The film's told from one characters viewpoints, even from scenes she's not in, so it makes for some creative storytelling. I'm starting to find appreciation for the work of the late, but definitely great Satoshi Kon. If you haven't seen it yet, you really owe it to yourself at least one viewing of it.

Damn I forgot how much of a thriller that one was. It's a bit screwy and probably not for everyone, but I definitely enjoyed it.

As for me, I rewatch MI4: Ghost Protocol in preparation for the new film tomorrow. Definitely my favorite of the series, especially with Jeremy Renner. Really hoping the new one can live up to this film.

A LEGO Brickumentary. A fantastic movie. Showed a lot of the community, behind the scenes of a lot of projects, the life size X-Wing build, Nathan Sawaya and his exhibit, among many others. A fun look at brick films, Brick Arms. Definitely watch if you can. Sadly, no mention of Eurobricks.

Point Break (1991)

A movie I've seen a few times (although the last time must have been 15+ years ago).

Still perfect and it brought back some memories. Unbelievable that later this year a remake will be released.
