sok117 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I just found out there making an A-Team movie, the trailer looks pretty crazy, but the lines are hilarious, what do you guys think? Offical Website Quote
Tereglith Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 It happened a year ago, when an elite commando unit was sent to prison for a crime they didn't commit! Geez, didn't you listen to trailer? Actually, I've known about this for a couple months now. I watched the trailer a few times. I'm still trying to decide - is shooting a plane from a parachuting tank tacky, or epic, or both? Quote
CF Mitch Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I'm still trying to decide - is shooting a plane from a parachuting tank tacky, or epic, or both? Why would it be tacky? But I have heard of it quite a while ago too. I read it in either Empire or Total Film (both American movie magazines, I believe). I think it's great, Liam Neeson looks great as Hannibal. And so do the actors that play Face and Murdock. Not too sure yet on what to think of B.A. though I do like how they inserted his love for his van in it, that little part in the trailer about it funy I can't wait till this movie comes out Regards, CF W Quote
astra Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I can't decide wether this looks any good. Too many movies or series had remakes the last couple of years and the only one that was good enough to watch (at least I think so) was the Dukes of Hazzard, because they didn't try too hard to make the movie part of the series if you know what I mean. So yes, I like watching the A-Team, but don't know if I am going to like the movie... Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 You're surprised, after all the weird ideas Hollywood is coming up with these days? Seriously, their making a CG Speedy Gonzales, Stretch Armstrong the Movie starring Taylor Lautner ( ) Space Invaders etc! No joke! But in all fairness the film looks fairly decent. Pity the real Mr.T isn't in it, though. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Nice. I loved the original series, I hope this is a good remake. Quote

I have seen the trailer a while back too, im a bit disappointed by the narration and theme song, its okay just not great. And the tank parachute is obviously epic and i have a feeling that's just the beginning of how cool this movie will be. Quote
Dunjohn Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Yeah, I've been dreading the advent of an A-Team movie for ten years now and the inevitable news finally broke some time ago. To be honest, it may not be the end of the world. It seems to focus on the core of A-Team without getting too caught up in the detail. The fact that Face Man doesn't know who B.A. is has me worried; one of the major ideas behind the original series was that this was an elite military unit who are forced to use their skills to survive in the real world. The fact that they were an utterly cohesive team who could practically think each other's thoughts was fundamental - as Decker once put it, they act like a single body. This new Face seems to be an outsider, drafted in to help the others. Hope the team dynamic isn't messed with too much. Aside from that, the characters all seem to have been well updated. There's one short image of a supremely confident woman in sunglasses; if that's Amy, it's a logical remake. And in the scene where Murdoch says their wing is on fire, I did notice B.A. unconscious in the seat behind him. That's good too. Probably the biggest thing that bugs me is that Face Man has stubble. I know it may be modern but I just can't accept Face Man without a smooth, uh, face. He could easily have been clean-shaven. the stubble just feels intrusive. And if that's the biggest issue I have, then I imagine I'll enjoy the movie. Quote
Dreamweb Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Remakes, remakes... Will they ever end? I must say I'm extremely sceptical. I loved the original A-Team and I think it's one of those things which - once gone - shouldn't be brought back to life. It would be a completely different story if they used original cast, but of course George Peppard has passed away and the rest of them aren't getting any younger... With characters as colourful as these, using different actors kind of kills the magic... I'll probably watch it in cinema anyway, but I'm afraid it's gonna feel like using clone brand bricks, if you know what I mean. Quote
