Just saw the new Nightsisters episode, it was pretty ok, not so spectacular but not bad either, it had its ups and downs. Of course, the visuals and sound effects are great, highlighted by the dogfight between Assajj and Anakin/Obi-Wan and the lightsaber duels. But there were some WTFH moments, like the supposed 'invisibility' of the nightsisters. How could they be invisible if Dooku clearly sees they are holding visible lightsabers?! That was pretty dumb IMO. If they were really planning on assassinating Dooku, why couldn't they just put poison on the dart (which actually hit Dooku) instead of just impeding his senses? Another dumb move. I know it is for 'show' purposes (since they have to preserve Dooku's character for RoTS), but that was just an obviously 'unintelligent' assassination plot.

I just slapped myself, realizing I missed it. It was on, right? I think I read somewhere it was going to be aired on the 9th, but I'm not sure. Also, were all 3 episodes shown, or just Nightsisters?

I watched it online as I don't reside in the US, but I would assume it has already been shown there since it was up at mastertoons.com. Only Nightsisters was shown.

I guess the invisibility doesn't effect lightsaber blades. They mostly just got invisible to get into his home undetected anyway, and they did kinda want him to see the lightsabers so that he thinks it's Jedi that are attacking him, so it's not that dumb.

I do agree with everything else you said though. That assassination attempt was indeed poorly executed. I don't even think they ever attacked him all at once which I'm sure would have at least injured him. The fact that we knew all the way through that Dooku can't die didn't help either. The episode was OK since we finally got some good action again and most of the episode had a nice dark mood, but the plot holes and predictability dragged it down a bit. Oh well, hopefully the next episodes will be better.

But it didn't "Imped" his senses it blinded him for the Course of The Duel which was why he had his Eyes Closed for most if not all the duel which is why Dooku Stated "I do not need my Eyes to see you. Jedi"

But anyway I thought this Episode was one of the Best Clone Wars ones behind Landing at Point Rain and ARC Troopers. Great Battle at the start and Apparently though I don't think it was shown it said in the Episode Guide "The Resolute (Anakin's Flagship)" was destroyed during the Battle. The Ventress VS Obi-Wan and Anakin fight was Great then those Scenes with Ventress as a Jedi were good except they Changed her Master's death as he was killed by Someone called Kirkse I think can't remember how it is spelled but he was not killed by A Pirate anyway so thats another thing TCW has changed. The Dooku VS Nightsisters Duel was great as well and The bit where he uses Force Lightning to throw them out the Window was one of my Favourite Star Wars Scenes let alone Clone Wars :sweet:

I just watched Nightsisters, and it was pretty good.

I would have liked to see Savage Opress aswell, but that's probably saved for the next episode. Just a shame I can't find any previews for ep13. Anyone?

Still not quite sure of this, some of the stuff seemed a bit meh, the whole feel to it seemed off, like Tyranis could not sense them in the room, the whole lightsabers, being invisible, just did not seem right.

Posted

What did everybody think about the RoTs approach to the episode, dark dingy feel, anikan and Obi flying wing-tip to wingtip, and midway through the battle Obi getting thrown away? I loved the space battle but the rest was....meh.

Posted

I loved the battle at the beginning. Lots of explosions and action. It was also nice to see Ventress's ship, and even Obi's, which doesn't get much screen time. I'm still confused how Obi managed to fly his fighter out of the Seppie ship, even after it crashed and was on fire.

I'm not quite sure what to think of the Nightsisters. I'm not familiar with their lore, so I can't really say much. There seemed to be a lot of magic-mystic voice stuff going on, as well as floating hair and...magic water? Homeopathy, anyone?

I know it is for 'show' purposes (since they have to preserve Dooku's character for RoTS), but that was just an obviously 'unintelligent' assassination plot.

Every assassination plot in the CW has been pretty bad and 'unintelligent', as you say. For the CW, however, this one, I think, was the most entertaining, as we got to see more of Dooku sword fighting(in his dressing gown), which I think we need more of.

Oh, and one last thing: Teenage Ventress. That is all.

Surprised that people here don't seem too impressed with this episode, I thought it was pretty amazing. For starters it actually gave Ventress some personality and turned her into a very cool character. I also believe her EU backstory remained intact and she was even using the ship from the animated Clone Wars shorts.

Fanblade.jpg

The writing in the episode was really fantastic, as well as the animation. Some of Ventress' expressions, particularly after Dooku had betrayed her were really great and made you feel a lot more for the character, even though she's still very much the villain. We also saw them move away from the political focused episodes we've had lately and was much more action based. The dogfight in space at the start was amazing and the lightsaber duels, especially the four man at the end was better choreographed than anything from the movies! Oh, and Dooku's pyjamas were awesome

Though I will agree that the assassination attempt didn't make a whole lot of sense.

And why does everyone like Dooku's PJs so much? They didn't even look all that much different from his usual costume.

There's no question about it that this episode seems great in comparison to what we've gotten so far in this season, but it's still not a very good episode.

However, you're right that it was nice to see an episode from a villain's POV. I hope we see more of that, especially with Grievous! :cry_happy:

Agreed. Of the episodes I've seen (I.E., first two seasons) the only good Greivous episode was the Lair of Gerivous- and IMO that should have been extended. More episodes with Gerivous are in order, he's a potentionally great villian.

I meant it was good, aside from that point. They did a great job turning Ventress into a character and Dooku's reaction to the whole situation was subtle, but really well done. It really seemed like he didn't want to betray her and when he did, he used her "failure" as an excuse. It raises some interesting questions.

Really don't know what there wasn't to like about this episode.. Other than the whole questionable assassination attempt, which wasn't that much of a big deal. To me it seemed like she wanted to kill him herself, really get revenge for what happened. Not simply poison him in his sleep. I only think they could have spent some more time on this point, but you do have to take into account the limited run time. Sometimes things are lost.

Yeah, the Sapce Battle in the beginning was the best, and the lightsaber battle in the hanger was reall well choreographed too, but I didn't like that Ventress got them in a double choke-hold so easily. The part where she tore apart those scavengers was pretty sweet though. And I thought it was reall dumb how the space battle was reminisient of Episode 3, which speaking of, I don't get how Obi-wan became such a bad pilot, cause he seemed to do really good against Slave 1 in episode 2. And I don't know how his ship started working again magically. The assasination atempt was cool, but I thought the ending was rushed. Thats all really, kind of meh for me, but I can't wait to see Savage, and I agree it was a lot better then all the senate episodes.

I have to say I agree with you. I thought that this was one of the better character driven episodes in the past three seasons. And with the recent onslaught of senate episodes, this was a breath of fresh air. I was a bit surprised that they decided to use Ventress' EU backstory. I thought they had planned to go in another direction. The fan blade starfighter was fantastic. Even better than the original version.

Yeah, he survived oncoming missiles, from an advanced ship, being piloted by the most skilled bounty hunter of all time, the whole ordeal taking place through an asteroid field, yet in TCW/RotJ he seems to be annihilated by some tri-fighters

Yeah, but he still should be very good at it :sceptic: , I dislike learning French in school but I still get 90's.

I also really liked the back story on Asajj, I think she would be 20% less creepy if she still had that nice hair-cut. She was kinda a cute baby.

I totally agree. Throughout all of those flashbacks she still looked normal/good enough, and then flip to the "present" and she's totally ugly, not to mention her voice sounding like she's been a chain smoker for a really long time. I guess that's what being an evil person does to you?

Overall, much more interesting than a senate episode, though not awesome either. It's kind of hard to be all that exciting when you're having a character want to seek revenge on someone who you know doesn't die until later. I just hope they actually have Dooku (or Savage, or somebody) actually kill off Ventress at some point. They actually killed Ziro, so you never know.

I don't understand why a sisterhood of assassins wear tiny short-shorts. Why would they dress like that? Ventress was better dressed for a while, yet now that she gets a whole episode she has to lose the skirt. At least they put a hood over that freaking ugly face, that's all I can say.

Its Possible Because

In a Promotional Video Before Season 3 Began Dave Filoni said A4-D That Doctor Droid in "Lair Of Grievous" was repaired after the battle in "The Lair" so that probably means we will see them both Again This Season.
