BTW Ratshot I cannot keep my sets incomplete. It just bugs me to death.

I suffer fom that same phobia. I hate it when I have to take apart my sets for MOCs and such.

Im aiming to get all of the January waves sets except for the TIE defender just because I'm not into EU that much. My main problem is getting the money for all of them!

Nothing personal. That is the one set I am looking forward to most, and I really, really dislike the post Battle of Endor EU stuff... You know, I would have preferred ROTS to have ended with a Yub Yub burgers and a side of crispy Luke, Empire wins... But of all the TIE variants, the Defender is by far the coolest, both in form and by function. Well, maybe that Phantom too, with a ship so small having that cloaking device. :cry_happy:

The Emperor is dead... Long live the Clone Emperor!

I agree with you too, though the TIE Defender was in fact made between Episode V and VI, so technically it's not post Endor. I really like all of the TIE variants, and I am still annoyed because Lego's moving on to make a TIE variant before it actually makes a new accurate TIE fighter!

By the way, I think you mean ROTJ, not ROTS. There is quite a difference...

Speaking of which, I still stand by the Episode III sets being PT and not CW. Lego wouldn't purposely make a prototype have dot eyes if they were planning on making a Clone. Here are the facts, so wake up people:

The original prototype could have been a Clone with orange sharpie over his eyes

Why would they make it Clone Wars if it hasn't been seen in the Clone Wars?

And of course, that picture was from a German Catalogue, meaning it was FINAL! Tada!

Unfortunately that isn't decisive. TLG has used prelim pics in catalogues before.

Yes, and the picture is a little blurry. Maybe with that orange 'sharpie' over his eyes we cannot make out anything except the pupils.

Besides, that is just my opinion, hence the IMO I used in my previous post.

Exactly.

I know you guys want PT, but why? Non-creepy faces? Ep. III troopers?

For the record, those are Episode III troopers. Ask around, Phase II. helmets are not in the Clone Wars tv series, so why would they be here?

arc1.jpg

True, it isn't the best picture, but those pilot helmets have to mean something. Every set in the Clone Wars series has been fro the TV show or movie. The ARC hasn't been yet, and nor has the Tri-Fighter.

Plus, it will be the 5 year anniversary for Episode III. So why not?

We have Clone Wars sets, Episode III, Episode V, and random OT. It makes sense.

EDIT: The answer will all be solved in the Droid. Clone Wars droids have printed silver markings to the left of their eyes, and regular new droids don't. Look at the CW R2 and the Death Star R2. If we can get a better picture of the droid, we'll have our answer.

Of course I can't be certain but I think the droid looks like the new clone wars R2 but in Green. But that's not to say that we can't have a non CW droid with the new design, is it?

Sorry Darth Legolas, I disagree about the ARC-170. And why ?

Hasbro have an ARC-170 as a Clone Wars set, that's Cartoon Networks Clone Wars - not Episode III.

Why would Lego go back five years for a movie that some kids might have or have not watched yet, but a cartoon show which children watch a lot of, well I know what I'd put my money on.

The Cartoon Network tv series.

Isn't Hasbro's ARC-130 the one done in Shadow colours? Clearly it's not from the Clone Wars TV series, and

only the packaging conforms to TCW standards. It might be from the EU - I am thinking Dark Times comic books,

but in no way has that particular ARC fighter ever graced The Clone Wars.

Does anyone remember seeing a Fighter Tank in any of the Clone Wars episodes, or in any of the movies?

Whether LEGO cross promotes with current media releases (such as SW movie aniversaries, or the Clone Wars),

bottom line is they believe that the set will be attractive towards their target audience.

Why else would they chose to develop sets that have EU connections in them?

Perhaps it has something to do with ROTS' 5th year anniversary? Who knows? At least LEGO has included Kit Fisto,

who appears in the CGI cartoon series. But from the look of the minifig pilot I would assume that this is "classic" LEGO

star wars  not TCW stlying.

I absolutely agree with you there, Legolas! But you are way wrong about the CW sets all being from the series. The Fighter Tank, droid gunship, Homing Spider droid, Hailfire, AT-OT, and the two BPs have never been featured in SW:TCW.

To clarify, I meant that I dislike the EU stories after ROTJ, not that the Defender belonged outside of

the OT. I guess I should add though that I did mention the Phantom, and that I technically I am a Thrawn fan... But the pathetic-ness of the New Republic is almost as sad as the mighty Empires totally unrealistic defeat at the hands of those sadistic Teddy Bears with spears.

By the way, I think you mean ROTJ, not ROTS. There is quite a difference...

Yes, it would seem I stand corrected :hmpf_bad::cry_happy:

Lego... please.... A redesign of the TIE Fighter you need... With spherical command pod!

I really thought that news of 2 new Jedis in the CTT would get a bit more attention :sceptic:
Wait..... who were the two new Jedi confirmed in the Clone Turbo Tank?

Aayla Secura and Barriss Offee?

There's not much to discuss until we see pics, really, but if it is those two, I can't wait! I wasn't going to get the CTT as I have the old one, but two new Jedi will make it difficult to resist. :sweet:

Yes sir! No pics needed really

I got the old one as well and this made me gonna buy the new one as well.

There are a few new modifications done that will make it worth. The wheels for instance.

Excellent! :sweet: I guess that means we'll be seeing some more Felucia-based episodes in the near future.

Sounds exciting. I knew, like the ARC-170, it would be improved, but I don't know if it has been enough to make it worthwhile getting the new version. As more of a ground vehicle fan, I don't think I'll be getting the ARC-170, but the CTT is certainly a possibility.

Are the wheels new parts, or just a different choice?

Thanks, Ras. :classic:

EDIT: I suppose two new Jedi means no new clone commanders?

Also, will there be any CIS element to the set, like the old one included two BDs and a turret gun?

What I can tell, there is new wheels.

Looks more like in the actuall one

Don´t know about new Clone Commander, nore CIS elements.

I will have to get the new ARC because of the new pilots. There helmets looks promissing.

Also the new printed head with visor will be used for other pilots is a guess.

Like for instance a new Snowspeeder pilot to a Wampa cave.

I actually hated the old one, I thought it looked horrible, we'll see if this new one sways me, btu with 2 new Jedi I think my decision is being made for me.

Very good. Thanks again, Ras. :classic:

I agree that the new pilots are much better, but without all three, the fighter doesn't attract me much.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kit Fisto. He's my favourite Jedi and I like the fig, but I don't want to keep him in the ARC-170 and I don't want it to be a pilot short. :sceptic:

I didn't look that bad. It was far too small for the real thing, but the shape was good and it included some nice stuff.

The CIS element could be a Supertank

Why are you saying it if it is not a CW R2 unit, it is not CW? Remember the Endor Bunker? That had the CW design. Just because R2 has different printing patterns doesn't mean it is purposefully different.

Besides, if it is based on ROTS why does it have Kit Fitso in there?

No, the R2's were different. There was a new Clone Wars design for the Y-Wing that was similar to Ahsoka's droid, while the Endor Bunker R2 was the same as the one featured in the Death Star and the upcoming Landspeeder. That's why the design of the droid in the ARC will tell us for sure if the set is PT or CW.

Also, there was a Kit Fisto in the EpIII Jedi Starfighter with Hyperspace Ring for no reason, so it's no argument that Fitso wouldn't be in there if it was ROTS. Maybe it makes the set more appealing to little kids and other people who like and don't have enough Jedi.

TLC does insert random minifigs, the hyperdrive boosterring set also included Kit Fisto, but the Jedi Starfighter was Obi-Wan's starfighter, not Kit Fisto's, he was just an addition to the set. I'd rather have another pilot, now if I buy the set I gotta buy another pilot off the internet... grumph.. :hmpf_bad:

I'm not sure if it's ROTS, it could likely be the CW, but I don't think the pilots are CW styled looking at the pics, and they are not CW pilots, I think.. :hmpf:

@Ras: Thanks for that info! If it has Aayla and Barriss Offee in it, then I'll buy it no doubt, even two new Jedi make it worth it. Can't wait to see pics. :classic:
