Admiral Ron Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Would anyone like to duel the Great and Handsome Johann?
Walter Kovacs Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Would anyone like to duel the Great and Handsome Johann? Well, I don't know about great. Come to think of it, I don't know about handsome, either. I'm game. I'm always game.
Admiral Ron Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Well, I don't know about great. Come to think of it, I don't know about handsome, either. I'm game. I'm always game. Wonderful... I think... Anyone care to ADJ?
CMP Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Wonderful... I think... Anyone care to ADJ? Sure thing.
XimenaPaulina Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I'll do it. Send me DS for Round 1. Thanks for the ADJ Walter! DS sent!
XimenaPaulina Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 CMP, do you want to duel me? Is anyone adjudicating for you and CMP yet? I can do it if you want.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Is anyone adjudicating for you and CMP yet? I can do it if you want. I believe the Admiral volunteered so I already sent my DS to him. Thanks anyway.
Walter Kovacs Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Bitter rivals Ollivander Dippet and Diana Fabray clash once again, each intent on proving theirsuperiority, once and for all. As a side note, if I've made a mistake, let me know. First time Adjudicating jitters and all. Ollivander Dippet vs Diana Fabray Health - 5.................Health - 6 Expecto Patronum -0.....Crucio - 0 Mid - 0....................Expelliarmus - 0 Protego - 0...............Mid - 0 Low - 0.....................High - 1 Expelliarmus - 0.........Low - 0 Health - 4.................Health - 6 The more experienced Fabray tries to start quickly, firing off an unforgivable curse meant to annihilate her opponent quickly. But Ollivander has faced Diana before, and is ready with a Patronus charm. Hoping that this deft block has shocked his opponent, the Adept tries a quick spell to the midsection, but Diana merely flicks his wand away, rendering the attack null. Diana tries her own shot to the Gryffindor's torso, but Ollivander recovers his wand and blocks the spell in time. Both combatants then move to the attack, but Fabray's shot to the head lands, while Dippet misses low. Diana tries one last shot at Ollivander's legs, but finds her wand missing before she can complete the hex. Send in your DS for Round 2. Also, does anyone have a good method for getting the columns to line up? My way is clunky and tedius.
Walter Kovacs Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I've submitted my DS. Best of luck, Ron. I've received a Round 2 DS from KielDaMan. Awaiting one from Commander Fox. (No hurry. Time Zones are probably at work here.)

CMP Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Round 1 Johann Petershmut - 5 Walter Kovacs - 5 Protego! Low Low Low Mid Mid Crucio! High High Mid Johann Petershmut - 4 Walter Kovacs - 4 Johann walks into Madam Malkin's, looking to buy himself a wicked black hat. Walter hides amongst a piles of robes. Johann feels something is off. He's right. He wheels around and yells "PROTEGO!" as Walter's spell, aimed at his feet, is bounced back at himself, blowing away the robes and leaving Walter undefended. Johann aims a sweeping rope of fire to trip him up, but suddenly, Walter causes a similar rope, of water, to counteract it! Johann dives behind the counter, and sends the register flying at Walter's chest. He is forced to throw a display dummy in the way, and is shattered to ceramic pieces. He swirls them up in a gust of wind and sends them flying at Johann's head, but they clatter to the ground with a quick shout of "CRUCIO!" Walter yells and writhes on the ground, and Johann walks out from behind the counter. He thinks himself victorious, and lifts up the cash register over Walter's head, but Walter, freed from the Cruciatus Curse, flicks his wand at it, and it flies backward into Johann's chest. He slides into the counter, rubbing his ribs. They both gather themselves, each pointing their wand at eachother. Send in your Round 2 DSes!
Walter Kovacs Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Round 2 DS sent Walter, sorry for the delay. Ollivander tries a low hex, only to find his wand missing. Diana attempts to land a Cruciatus curse while Ollivander flails frantically for his wand, only to see her wand go flying across the room. Ollivander aims a hex at Diana's exposed midsection, but Diana is faster, and quickly throws up a protection spell. Diana fires a quick hex to knock Ollivander off balance, then another in quick succession. Ollivander manages to block the first with a Patronus, but catches the second in the chest as he tries to counter with an attack to the head. DS for Round 3 whenever you are ready. CMP Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) Round 2 Johann Petershmut - 4 Walter Kovacs - 4 Protego! Mid Crucio! Low Low High Mid High Protego! Mid Johann Petershmut - 3 Walter Kovacs - 2 Walter causes a blue bolt of fire shoot at Johann's chest, who easily bocked it with "PROTEGO!". Walter curses silently and casts a wave of energy aimed at Johann's feet. However, it dissipates as Walter is again hit by the Cruciatus Curse, and is thrown against the ground, wirthing and screaming. He manages to lift up his wand enough to send a loose nail from the floorboards flying upward. Johann's eyes widen as one of them is hit with the flat end of the nail. He stumbles backwards with a yell, sending a stream of acid blindly at Walter, just missing his knee and melting through the floor. Walter points his wand at Johann's head, but is hit with a dummy's head, displaying a hat, in the chest. He falls to the ground, and Johann blinks to clear his vision. He quickly casts a second Shield Charm to block the firecracker-like spell sent towards his chest. Walter throws the dummy's head off of him, and both students point their wands at eachother, Walter pating a bit more then Johann. Round 3 please! Oh yea, Expelliarmus should damage my Protego. Also, does anyone have a good method for getting the columns to line up? My way is clunky and tedius. I think you're really doing great for your first adjudicating chore Walter. Regarding the aligning of the columns, let me share with you pedro's technique (example is for the Jedi Duel): Hey KDM, I thought I'd share my text layout for duels with you so you don't have to use white lines anymore. It's simple really, just center the 2nd players entries as shown below. I've used ( ) instead of [ ] to illustrate... (b)Round 2(/b) (b)Taran Crax | 4 (center) Hans Olo | 4 (/center) (/b) High - 1 (center) High - 0 (/center) Sabre Throw - 0 (center) Parry - 0 (/center) Force Push - 0 (center) Mid - 0 (/center) Sabre Flurry / High - 0 (center) Parry - 0 (/center) High - 0 (center) Mid - 1 (/center) (b)Health: 3 (center) Health: 3 (/center)(/b) Hope that helps! Cheers, pedro That technique works, but I still go with the white line technique to separate the columns. Edited November 11, 2010 by KielDaMan
