CorneliusMurdock Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 A fake tree?! Real ones all the way! Well, then you can come cut one down, drag it back to my house and then stay and water it when I'm not here over the actual holiday.
XimenaPaulina Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Didn't realize you challenged me, KDM. Got back from Christmas shopping and the wife made me assemble the tree. I can Adj. for you and Oky if you want. No problem, let's just duel after I'm done with Okay. Ready now Oky?
Oky Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Ready! I'll send my DS to CM now. (Not sure how long I can keep this up; I don't have that many Death Stars to give away. )
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 You can send me as many Death Stars as you want, Oky! Wizard Duel Round 1 Okay Turkoglu | 5------Vs.-----Diana Fabray | 6 Expelliarmus ~ 0 -------------------- Low ~ 0 Stupefy ~ 1 ----------------------- Mid ~ 0 High ~ 0 ----------------------- Expelliarmus ~ 0 Low ~ 1 ------------------- Low ~ 0 Mid ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 1 Health: 4 --------------------- Health: 4 Diana Fabray, angry at losing to a Hufflepuff, tracks down Okay Turkoglu to exact her revenge. She finds him in Hogsmeade, just leaving Honeyduke's Sweet Shop. He smiles happily as he walks up the street munching on Bertie Bot's Jelly Beans. Diana jumps out from behind a corner and Okay jumps back in surprise, dropping the bag of jelly beans. The bag splits open the colorful candy cascades out into the white snow. "You can't wait until I'm not carrying something delicious? Curse you, Slytherin, this ends now." Okay disarms Fabray and follows up with a stunning spell. Diana falls over into a cold mud puddle. Clearing the freezing mud from her eyes, she disarms the Hufflepuff. She tries a low spell but Okay finds his wand and casts a spell that overpowers her and she falls back down into the mud. She curses him with the cruciatus curse without even getting up and screams with delight as Turkoglu squirms in agony on the ground. Send for round 2 when ready.
CommanderFox Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Well, then you can come cut one down, drag it back to my house and then stay and water it when I'm not here over the actual holiday. Sure! Now, whereabouts do you live? Anyone up for dueling an Adept?? Please im desperate to avenge my loses when I attain Magus! CF
Walter Kovacs Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Another close loss. I think I'm bound and determined to have the worst winning percentage ever. Thanks CF for another great ADJ. Anyone else need to advance their rank?
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Wizard Duel Round 2 Okay Turkoglu | 4------Vs.-----Diana Fabray | 4 Low ~ 1 -------------------- Mid ~ 0 Mid ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 1 Stupefy ~ 1 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Expelliarmus ~ 1 ------------------- Expelliarmus ~ 0 High ~ 1 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Health: 3 --------------------- Health: 0 As the effects of the crucio wear off, Okay casts a low spell at Diana's feet that causes her to topple over again. She mutters a non-spell curse and then casts a cruciatus curse. Turkoglu once again finds himself squirming in pain. Through his tears, he sees his many-colored candy treats laying on the fallen snow. He rises from the ground, determination in his eyes, and screams, "For the jelly beans!" In a flurry of blows he stuns the Slytherin, disarms her and hits her with a spell hat will cause her hair to be all frizzy for days. Fabray passes out in the mud and the Hufflepuff takes some money from her purse and goes back into the Honeyduke's to replace his ruined candy. Wow that natural talent worked so well for you, I can't wait to use it on her next. Update your profiles accordingly.
XimenaPaulina Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Argh, that was painfully quick, it seems Okay has 'owned' me recently. Congrats anyway Oky! Wow that natural talent worked so well for you, I can't wait to use it on her next. Thanks for the ADJ CM, now it's your time to test your Natural Talent against me. Anyone care to adjudicate?
Oky Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Haha, that's what you get for making me drop my sweets again! You may call me The Talented Mr. Turkoglu from now on! Sorry, maybe you'll have better luck with Frankfurt. I can adj for you guys. CF, I believe you promised to duel me next, so lets do it! CM, are you still down to adjudicate? Is CallMePie still playing? I'd love to duel Carlos again sometime too. Edited December 5, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi

Sorry, maybe you'll have better luck with Frankfurt. I can adj for you guys. Thanks for adjudicating The Talented Mr. Turkoglu. DS sent! PS: Sorry for an off-topic question, but I've been wanting to ask you this, is the Turkoglu surname based on the Turkish NBA player Hedo Turkoglu?
Oky Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Yes. My real last name is Yaramanoglu, but I thought Turkoglu was easier and more recognizable due to the NBA player. I have a more on-topic question: Am I the only one who doesn't send a separate PM for each round of a duel and just replies to his initial PM instead? I'm just curious since it kinda makes more sense to me that way.
Lord Embo Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) KDM, I challenge you to a duel. I have joined up if you're wondering. I just realised you have already challenged someone. Is anyone out there willing to duel me? Lord Embo Edited December 5, 2010 by Lord Embo
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 CF, I believe you promised to duel me next, so lets do it! CM, are you still down to adjudicate? Yeah, I'm up for adj. I think the Professor replies to his PMs too. It does make more sense but I always forget to do it.
Walter Kovacs Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Yes. I tried using the same PM on my first duel, and the Adjudicator used my first round DS instead of looking at the new DS. So I use three separate PMs just out of safety. BTW, the DS mixup didn't affect the result of the duel. Lord Embo, I'm alway s ready to lose to someone. Challenge accepted.
Lord Embo Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Lord Embo, I'm alway s ready to lose to someone. Challenge accepted. Ok then, now who's willing to adjudicate? You'll probably beat me knowing my luck. Lord Embo Edited December 5, 2010 by Lord Embo
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Ok then, now who's willing to adjudicate? You'll probably beat me knowing my luck. Lord Embo I can adj for you guys as well. P.S. Walter, I hope it wasn't me that did that but it does sound like something I'd do.

Should me and Walter send our DS's then? *EDIT* I've just sent my DS to you CM. *EDIT 2* Have you sent your DS Walter? Curse our different time-zones! Lord Embo Edited December 5, 2010 by Lord Embo
Walter Kovacs Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 You'll probably beat me knowing my luck. Lord Embo 2-6-1 (or is it 2-7-1 now?). That's all you need to know. I can adj for you guys as well. P.S. Walter, I hope it wasn't me that did that but it does sound like something I'd do. I've already deleted that PM. It was the duel where I landed 4 hits in the first round. My second DS was all High attacks. Fortunately my first DS started with a High attack, and my opponent (Oky?) started the round with a Low. DS sent.
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Sorry, Walter. I'll try to never do it again. Wizard Duel Round 1 Walter Kovacs | 5------Vs.-----Henrik Saksonn | 5 Low ~ 1 -------------------- Mid ~ 0 High ~ 1 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Mid ~ 0 ----------------------- Protego ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ------------------- Mid ~ 0 Mid ~ 1 ----------------------- Silencio ~ 0 Health: 5 --------------------- Health: 1 New Slytherin student, Henrik Saksonn challenges Ravenclaw Walter to a civilized duel. They take their positions on either side of the dueling platform and begin. Walter comes out slinging a couple of spells that knock the newcomer over like a one-two punch. Henrik manages to block Kovacs' next spell but is unable to protect himself from his Cruciatus curse. Saksonn then tries to silence his opponent but Walter is too quick and ends the round with another hit that knocks the Syltherin on his rear. Send for round 2 when ready. Lord Embo Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) I should've known it wouldn't go well at all! Oh well, things may well change in round 2(but almost certainly they won't). *EDIT* Round 2 DS sent Lord Embo Edited December 5, 2010 by Lord Embo

The Ravenclaw goes in for another low spell and connects this time sending the Slytherin across the room and ending the duel in his favor. Congrats, Walter, a flawless game. I'm sure you'll do better next time Lord Embo. Welcome again to the Dueling Club! Update your profiles accordingly.
Oky Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) Yeah, I'm up for adj. I think the Professor replies to his PMs too. It does make more sense but I always forget to do it. Thanks! I'll send you my DS when CF accepts. I tried using the same PM on my first duel, and the Adjudicator used my first round DS instead of looking at the new DS. So I use three separate PMs just out of safety. Hm, that's a good reason, I suppose, but as long as the Adj pays attention, it would be better to do it my way, I think. It's up to you though. Frankfurt Flashburn VS. Diana Fabray Round 1 Frankfurt___________________________Diana Stupefy - 1__________________________High - 0 Low - 0_____________________________Crucio - 1 Mid - 0______________________________Low - 1 Expelliarmus - 1 ______________________Expelliarmus - 0 Low - 1______________________________Mid - 0 Health: 3____________________________Health: 3 When the Hogwarts students returned to the school after their trip to Hogsmead, Diana was still dripping of mud from her disastrous duel with Okay Turkoglu. As they scuttled into the entrance hall, a strict voice loudly said: "Miss Fabray!" It was Professor McGonagall who was now approaching Diana, nostrils wide. "Can you not leave the school without starting a single fight?" "But I was just..." Diana started defending herself, but McGonagall cut her off: "No excuses, Miss Fabray! I want you to keep your duels within the Dueling Club! Since you seem to be so keen on dueling someone so badly, Mr. Flashburn from Hufflepuff has volunteered to go against you in a fair duel". Frankfurt stepped forward from the crowd with a confident smile on his face. After he had recently became a magus and discovered a similar natural talent in spells as Turkoglu, he was sure he could avenge his defeat against Diana from their practitioner days. Diana was reluctant to duel so soon again, especially under supervision, but since she didn't really had a choice, she accepted. They took their positions and raised their wands. Diana gave Frankfurt a hateful look. "You Hupplepuffs think you're sooo talented," she sneered. "But I will show you what true power is!" She cast a spell at Frankfurt's head, but he quickly stunned her, causing her to miss. However, that only made her more infuriated. She cried "Crucio!" and Frankfurt immediately dropped to the floor, squirming in agonizing pain. He tried to shoot some spells back at her, but none of them hit their target. Before the effect of the cruciatus curse wore off, Diana hit him with another spell. In order to ensure he wouldn't try to attack her, she wanted to disarm him, but as she was saying Expelliarmus, Frankfurt did the same. The disarming charms left their wands at about the same time, but Frankfurt's was stronger and hit the wand out of Diana's hand. She quickly picked it up again, but before she could fire a spell at Flashburn, the Hufflepuff shot one at her legs, causing her to fall flat on the floor as if an invisible carpet was dragged out from under her feet. As she got back up, McGonagall announced the second round. After the first round, both duelists are on the same health level. Let's see what happens in the second! Please send those DSs my way.
