CorneliusMurdock Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Wizard Duel Round 2 Johann Peterschmut | 4------Vs.-----Walter Kovacs | 4 Low ~ 1 -------------------- Mid ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Expelliarmus ~ 0 ------------------- Low ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 0 Health: 4 --------------------- Health: 2 The second round starts off with a bang literally as Johann hits Walter with a curse that creates a cloud of smoke on one side of the raised dueling dais. Kovacs fires a spell from within the cloud but is blocked by a shield charm. The smoke dissipates enough for the Slytherin to hit Walter with a cruciatus curse. As the Ravenclaw finds his feet again, Peterschmut disarms him. Walter dives for his wand and casts a Crucio at his opponent but Johann blocks it with another shield charm. Send for round 3 when ready.

XimenaPaulina Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Thanks KDM, DS senty! CF Received your DS CF, but you have to use Sectumsempra in combination with either a Low, Mid, or High attack to take effect. Pls. submit your modified DS so I can post the Round 1 results. Thanks.

Pls. submit your modified DS so I can post the Round 1 results. Thanks. Submitted modified DS! Question, can Carlos use Natural Talent and Sectumsempra together. So if he uses Sectumsempra and scores a hit on me, he will take 2 health off for the Sectumsempra part and another 1 for Natural Talent? CF
XimenaPaulina Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Submitted modified DS! Question, can Carlos use Natural Talent and Sectumsempra together. So if he uses Sectumsempra and scores a hit on me, he will take 2 health off for the Sectumsempra part and another 1 for Natural Talent? CF Natural Talent is a passive ability, which means it takes effect over the duration of the whole duel. That means every countered spell in your duel will take one HP from you. If he scores a Sectumsempra on you, he takes 2 HP from you. If both of you cast the same Sectumsempra attack at the same sequence, he gets one HP from you. BTW, you still have to modify your DS, Sectumsempra can only be used once in every round.

XimenaPaulina Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Slytherin Death-Eater Carlos Peerce versus Gryffindor Magust Ollivander Dippet Round 1 Carlos Peerce l 5 _________________________Ollivander Dippet l 5 Expelliarmus! - 0 _____________________________ Low - 0 Mid - 1 _____________________________________Sectumsempra - High - 0 Sectumsempra - Low - 0________________________Expelliarmus! - 0 Crucio! - 0___________________________________Expecto Patronum! - 0 High - 1 ____________________________________High - 0 Health: 5___________________________________Health: 3 Newly-promoted duelists Slytherin Death-Eater Carlos Peerce and Gryffindor Magus Ollivander Dippet resume their house rivalry in this promising-to-be-intense duel. Feeling extremely confident after becoming the school's first duelist Death-Eater, Carlos aggressively begins his Conquest of Terror by quickly disarming Ollivander and hitting the Gryffindor with a body shot. The Slytherin looks to bury the Magus in the early goings, attempting to cast a powerful low Sectumsempra spell, but Ollivander manages to deflect his rival's wand with an Expelliarmus before he could even attack. The Death-Eater swiftly glides into the air to recover his wand and unleashes a Cruciatus curse, only to be countered by the Gryffindor's Expecto Patronum. Carlos continues to be on the offensive, casting a high-arching spell that proves to be too powerful for Ollivander to counter and hits him in the head. The Death-Eater Carlos has clearly shown his distinct wizardry advantage in the opening round. Will the Gryffindor be able to come back in the second round? Send in your Round 2 DS when ready. Walter Kovacs Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Round 3 Diana Fabray vs Frankfurt Flashburn Health - 2 Health - 3 Crucio - 0 Stupefy - 0 Protego - 0 Expelliarmus - 1 High - 1 Low - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 High - 0 Protego - 0 Mid - 0 Health - 1 Health - 2 Looking to finish off the duel quickly, Frankfurt fires off a Stupefy curse, only to see his spell meet Fabray's in a massive shower of sparks. Frankfurt tries to disarm his opponent before making his next move, and is delighted when Diana falls hard to the ground, hitting her head. Enraged, the Slytherin fires a hex at Flashburn's head, knocking him to the ground as well. Getting to their feet, Frankfurt attempts a high attack, but his wand is deftly flicked away. Diana protects herself from the Hufflepuff's final attack, but the damage has been done already. Frankfurt Flashburn emerges victorious. Winner: Frankfurt Flashburn Great duel, both of you. Update your profiles accordingly. And I will send my Round 3 DS.
XimenaPaulina Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Sheez what's new, another loss. Not that it will affect the results, but the countered Stupefy-Crucio should have been a score for CM, and I would've been finished by the 2nd sequence. Anyway, thanks CM for the duel and Walter for the ADJ.

Anyway, thanks CM for the duel and Walter for the ADJ. Crap, you're right. I forgot Frankfurt had Nat. Talent. Thanks for your honesty. And you're welcome for the ADJ. I feel like I wasn't very descriptive in the write-ups, though.
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Sorry, Walter, but "crap crap crap" is not a valid duel sequence. And I didn't almost use Johann's 1st sequence as his 3rd. Nope... Wizard Duel Round 3 Johann Peterschmut | 4------Vs.-----Walter Kovacs | 2 Mid ~ 0 -------------------- Mid ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ----------------------- High ~ 0 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 0 Low ~ 0 ------------------- High ~ 1 Expelliarmus ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Health: 3 --------------------- Health: 1 The duelists start off round three by missing each other entirely. Johann then unleashes his cruciatus curse once again. Walter tries to turn the spell around on him but Peterschmut shields himself from it. The moment the shield fades, Walter shoots off another curse at the Slytherin and this time it hits. The spell knocks the wind out of Johann but he manages to disarm the Ravenclaw as the round ends. Congrats, Admiral. Tough luck, Walter. Update your profiles accordingly.
Walter Kovacs Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I told you I'd give you a win, Ron. For a game that depends mostly on luck, I seem to have very little good luck coming my way. Makes me think I haven't been living right. Anyway, does anyone need a dueling partner to walk over? I haven't lost to Oky yet, would he like the pleasure?
Oky Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Sure! I'd be delighted to let you loose against the first to-be Auror in this game! Who'd like to adj this epic duel? Edited December 16, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi
Admiral Ron Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Good duel Walter, and thank you for ADJ CM! I can ADJ for you and Oky as well, and now that I am a Magus, I can have some Natural Talent of my own.
Walter Kovacs Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Sure! I'd be delighted to let you loose against the first to-be Auror in this game! Hey, at this rate I can make EVERYONE an Auror or Death-Eater. Except myself. DS Sent

XimenaPaulina Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Slytherin Death-Eater Carlos Peerce versus Gryffindor Magus Ollivander Dippet Round 2 Carlos Peerce l 5 _________________________Ollivander Dippet l 3 Sectumsempra-Mid - 0 ________________________Expecto Patronum! - 0 Expelliarmus! - 0 _____________________________Low - 0 Low - 0_____________________________________Protego! - 0 Crucio! - 1___________________________________Sectumsempra-Mid - 0 High - 0 ____________________________________Expelliarmus! - 0 Health: 5___________________________________Health: 2 The Slytherin Death-Eater Carlos Peerce has taken a significant lead over Gryffindor Magus Ollivander Dippet heading into the second round. The Slytherin wastes no time and continues with his aggressive ways, unleashing a Sectumsempra aimed at his opponent's body, but Ollivander adeptly counters with his Labrador Patronum. The Death-Eater then disarms the Magus with an Expelliarmus, and attempts to knock his rival off his feet with a low spell. Ollivander, showing great recovery, picks up his wand on the floor and blocks the powerful attack with a timely shield charm. Annoyed by the resiliency shown by the diminutive Gryffindor, Carlos casts a Cruciatus curse that even a Sectumpsempra from Ollivander cannot counter, dealing him a damaging blow once again. The Death-Eater tries to immediately follow-up with a head shot, but was surprised when a quick Expelliarmus from the downed Gryffindor knocks his wand off his grip. The Slytherin Death Eater continues to pound the Gryffindor as the duel progresses, increasing his lead going into the final round. Send in your Round 3 DS when ready.
