XimenaPaulina Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Hufflepuff Magus Frankfurt Flashburn versus Gryffindor Magus Ollivander Dippet Round 2 Farnkfurt Flashburn l 4 _____________________Ollivander Dippet l 4 High - 0 ____________________________________Expecto Patronum! - 0 Mid - 1 _____________________________________Mid - 0 Stupefy! - 1__________________________________High - 0 Low - 1_____________________________________Sectumsempra-Low - 0 Expelliarmus! - 1 ______________________________Expelliarmus! - 0 Health: 4___________________________________Health: 0 The duel between the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor Maguses continues in the second round with Frankfurt attempting to hit his opponent in the head with a high-arching spell that was bounced back by Ollivander's Labrador Patronum. The diminutive Gryffindor then aims at Frankfurt's body, but the Hufflepuff counters with the same spell, his being more powerful and hits Ollivander in the body. With his rival downed, Frankfurt seizes the opening and unleashes a Stupefy that stuns the Gryffindor. The Hufflepuff aggressively follows-up with a low spell, that even Ollivander's own Sectumsempra cannot overcome. With desperation written all over his face, Ollivander makes a futile attempt to disarm his fellow Magus, but Frankfurt's own Expelliarmus proves to be too much for the Gryffindor to handle, as his own attack got deflected and hits him, sending Ollivander unconscious to the ground. Winner: Frankfurt Flashburn! Wow, that was an impressive perfect round CM, congratulations on the win! Quadruple ouch CF, that was painfully quick! Sorry about your that, maybe you'll have better luck against someone without Natural Talent (..Ms. Fabray). You may now update your character profiles.

CMP Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 ROUND 1 Walter Kovacs - 5 Skylar Cisco - 5 High High High Crucio! Low Low Mid Low Crucio! Mid Walter Kovacs - 3 Skylar Cisco - 4 Skylar Cisco is skulking in a corner of the Hog's Head. Aberforth brings him another butterbeer. As he drinks, Walter Kovacs walks in, looking ready to fight evil with evil. Skylar ducks below the table, but Walter notices the movement. He draws his wand, and approachs the table, butterbeer spilling down the sides. Suddenly, Skylar fires a a bright blue arc of energy at Walter's head, who counters with an equally high aimed rope of yellow flame. The spells causes a small explosion, and the table breaks in half! Walter florusihes his wand, but as he begins mouthing a spell, Skylar gets there first. "CRUCIO!" Walter is twitching on the ground, writhing in pain! Skylar laughs evilly, and jumps over the broken table over Walter's twisted form. He takes a deep breath, but even as he shoots a rope out of his wand, tying up Skylar's slick leather boots, Skylar re-directs mid-spell, the wisp of flame he was about to fire instead burning away the rope at his ankles. Walter gets back to his feet shakily, but as he points his wand at Skylar's shins, the broken table half is flung into his chest! He falls backward out of the doorway, Skylar grins maliciously, but he doesn't even have time to aim his wand, as another Cruciatus Curse, cast me Walter, sends him curled up on the ground in agony. Walter holds the doorframe for support, Skylar finishes the dregs of his butterbeer, and both duelists prepare for round 2.
CommanderFox Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I've received a DS from KDM, just waiting on CF's (no hurry, KDM was quick ). DS sent! Thanks for ADJing Walter! Oh and KDM, sorry, it must have been a typo.... CF
Walter Kovacs Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Round 1 Diana Fabray vs Ollivander Dippet Health - 6 Health - 5 Crucio - 1 Mid - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Expecto Patronum - 0 Protego - 0 Sectumsempra - Mid - 0 Low - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Protego - 0 Silencio - 1 Health - 5 Health - 4 Ollivander Dippet saw Diana coming from down the hall. Knowing his rival's recent dueling woes, he was convinced she would try something. He was convinced he had the upper hand. But Diana's opening curse still caught him by surprise. Trying desparately to regain his footing, he quickly put up a Patronus. Knowing how dangerous his adversary could be, he tried his new Sectumsempra hex, but only found Diana's shield charm. Thinking quickly, he flicked Diana's wand away, then silenced his foe before she could act again. Round 2 DSs, please.
Walter Kovacs Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Round 2 Diana Fabray vs Ollivander Dippet Health - 5 Health - 4 Expelliarmus - 0 Sectumsempra - High - 0 High - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Protego - 0 Protego - 0 Crucio - 1 Low - 0 Mid - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Health - 5 Health - 3 Looking to catch his opponent off guard, Ollivander tried a Sectumsempra attack, but Diana was too fast for him, and his wand skittered off into the corner. Diving to re-arm himself, he quickly disarmed the Slytherin moments before she launched a devastating counter-attack. Looking to regroup, both combatants put up shield charms, to the amusement of all the on-lookers. Ollivander thought he saw an opening, firing a hex at Diana's legs, but before he could finish he found himself racked in the pain of an unforgivable curse. Knowing he needed time to gather his thoughts, he released his Patronus, and thought about how best to attakc the wily Slytherin. Round 3 DS when ready!
CMP Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) ROUND 2 Walter Kovacs - 3 Skylar Cisco - 4 Crucio! Protego! High Low Mid Crucio! High High Low Low Walter Kovacs - 2 Skylar Cisco - 3 Walter flicks his wand, a bottle of butterbeer flies at Skylar's head! He deflects it with a quick "PROTEGO!", but fails to notice the 2nd bottle sneaking up behind him, the spells aimed at Walter's knees not even performed as the beverage shatters over his head. He falls onto the counter, and as Walter aims at Skylar's boots, he is hit by yet another Cruciatus Curse! He doubles over in pain, but as Skylar grins and points his wand at Walter's head, Walter reacts quick, and a cork shoots out of a nearby bottle and hits Skylar square in the gut! He bends over, and his covert operation (firing at Walter's shin) is cut short, as he topples onto the floor, screaming in pain at Walter's "CRUCIO!". Walter is only slightly weakened, and has gained quite a lead on the wanna-be Slytherin. One more spell should finish him off, but Skylar simply dries his hair free of butterbeer, and twirls his wand threateningly. Edited January 3, 2011 by CallMePie
Walter Kovacs Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I'd be remiss by not saying this, but that isn't the DS I sent for Round 2, it was the DS from round 1. I replied to the original PM, and so it should be the second message in that conversation. It should look like this: Crucio, High, Mid, High, Low. Which would put Skylar in the lead, 3-2, I believe. DS Sent.
CommanderFox Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Round 3 DS sent! Man I need a comeback! CF
XimenaPaulina Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I'd be remiss by not saying this, but that isn't the DS I sent for Round 2, it was the DS from round 1. I replied to the original PM, and so it should be the second message in that conversation. It should look like this: Crucio, High, Mid, High, Low. Which would put Skylar in the lead, 3-2, I believe. DS Sent. That's very honorable of you Walter, very honest. See what happens when we don't separate PMs for DSs? The adjudicators have the tendency to commit crucial mistakes when reading the PMs. Anyway, Round 3 DS sent! (I could finally see the road to redemption)
Walter Kovacs Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Round 3 Diana Fabray vs Ollivander Dippet Health - 5 Health - 3 Protego - 0 Expecto Patronum - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Sectumsempra - Low - 0 Protego - 0 Expelliarmus - 0 Crucio - 1 Silencio - 0 Protego - 0 Mid - 0 Health - 5 Health - 2 Ollivander knew he needed to start fast. But he also knew his opponent, so he broguht forth his Patronus to protect himself from a devastating attack; an attack that never came. Undaunted, he again tried his Sectumsempra curse, only to find Diana's shield charm waiting for him. Frustrated, he disarmed his foe, hoping to throw her off balance. Expecting her to protect herself, he attempted to silence the Slytherin, but instead found his body wracked in searing pain. He tried one last desparate hex, only to find Diana behind yet another shield charm, smiling her wicked little smile. Winner: Diana Fabray. Update your profiles. Seems like I've seen that sort of strategy from KDM before.
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) Cf's expelliarmus should do a damage against protego. Won't affect the outcome but it's not a perfect round for KDM. Edited December 23, 2010 by CorneliusMurdock
XimenaPaulina Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Seems like I've seen that sort of strategy from KDM before. Unfortunately, you were at the receiving of that one the last time I used that strategy. Anyway, thanks for the ADJ Walter and CF for the duel.
