Ceroknight Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Great match, Admiral! I'll get you next time... Thanks for Adj. Walter. I think I got the easier match to adjudicate. Well, still not an Auror. Anyone want to help me with that? I'll try
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'll try To warn you, I've got Expelliarmus, Stupefy, and Natural Talent. I could not use the first two to be more fair but the third is a passive ability so I don't think I can just turn it off. But if you still want to, it's your funeral.

CorneliusMurdock Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Okay but don't say I didn't warn you. Is someone willing to adjudicate?
Walter Kovacs Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I'll adjudicate. We need to pump a little life back in this thread.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Thanks, Walter. DS sent. So you know, Ceroknight, I've not used Expelliarmus or stupefy. Doesn't feel right to squash a first year like that.
Walter Kovacs Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Thanks, Walter. DS sent. So you know, Ceroknight, I've not used Expelliarmus or stupefy. Doesn't feel right to squash a first year like that. Sure, make me feel bad for using those against him. Although my own struggles in this game are well documented.
Walter Kovacs Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Yes, Walter, very well documented. Perhaps that means it is time to challenge Adm Ron again. After all, they say third fourth fifth sixth seventh time's a charm!
Admiral Ron Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Perhaps that means it is time to challenge Adm Ron again. After all, they say third fourth fifth sixth seventh time's a charm! I would be honored to duel you again. Anyone wanna ADJ?
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Wizard Duel Round 1 Walter Kovacs | 5------Vs.-----Johann Peterschmut | 5 High ~ 0 -------------------- Protego ~ 0 High ~ 0 ----------------------- Mid ~ 1 Expelliarmus ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 0 Crucio ~ 1 ------------------- Low ~ 0 High ~ 0 ----------------------- Expelliarmus ~ 0 Health: 4 --------------------- Health: 4 The misguided Ravenclaw, Walter Kovacs, tracks down his Slytherin nemesis in the third floor corridor between classes. Johann sees him coming and puts up a shield charm just as Kovacs casts a spell at his head. Peterschmut retaliates with a mid blow that connects and sends the Ravenclaw into a suit of armor. Pieces of the suit clatter everywhere as the Slytherin tries a cruciatus curse but Johann's wand shows itself from the pile of armor and disarms his opponent. As Johann searches for his wand, Walter arises from the armor and casts his own cruciatus curse. Spasming in pain on the floor, Johann inches towards his wand and finallly makes it. He turns over and disarms Walter breathing a sigh of relief as the curse breaks. Send for round 2 when ready.
Walter Kovacs Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Round 1 Clen Vierno vs Frankfurt Flashburn Health - 5 Health - 5 High - 0 High - 1 Protego - 0 Mid - 0 Low - 0 Low - 1 Silencio - 1 Protego - 0 Mid - 1 High - 0 Health - 3 Health - 3 After having watched newcomer Clen Vierno fall in his opening match, Frankfurt decided to take the young Gryffindor under his wing and teach him a thing or two. And what better way to learn than by doing. Clen thought he had learned from his first duel, he started by trying a hex towards the head, and was satisfied when Frankfurt tried the same spell. But Frankfurt's spell was far stronger, and knocked Clen to the ground. "First lesson today, young Clen. More experienced duelists can overpower you, even when choosing the same spell." Frankfurt readied another spell, but this time Clen was ready, and managed to raise a shield charm to protect himself. "Good show! Excellent anticipation." Mr. Vierno tried a hex to the legs, only to find himself on his backside when the experienced Hufflepuff choose the same attack. Frankfurt simply chuckled, and waited for the Gryffindor to regain his feet. "In a real duel, your opponent won't be so nice. He will attack when you are vulnerable." Sensing Vierno's growing impatience, Frankfurt put up a quick shield charm, only to be caught by surprise by a silience charm. He was even more surprised when Clen's hex to the body connected underneath his head shot. This youngster had something to prove, and Frankfurt now knew he had to be careful. Good round. Send DS for Round 2 when ready.

Walter Kovacs Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Round 2 Clen Vierno vs Frankfurt Flashburn Health - 3 Health - 3 Protego - 0 Low - 0 Low - 0 High - 1 Mid - 0 Low - 1 Silencio - 0 Mid - 1 High - 1 Low - 0 Health - 0 Health - 3 Feeling buyed by his successes in the first round, Clen prepared for another intense set of attacks and counters from Flashburn. "Are you ready?" Frankfurt asked, saluting with his wand. "Ready as I'll ever be" Clen answered. Expecting Franfurt to start fast, Clen raised a shield to ward off a particularly nasty curse to his ankles. Happy with the start, the Gryffindor tried his own curse towards Frankfurt's feet, but Frankfurt was too fast, and caught Clen in his cheek, stunning him slightly. Clen tried to recover, trying a hex to the midsection, but Frankfurts own hex was already upon him, knocking him off his feet. Attempting despatately to regain any sense of composure, he tried to silence the experienced duelist, but the Hufflepuff just knew far too much, and Clen relized just how overmatched he was as he drifted into unconsciousness. He opened his eyes to see a worried Frankfurt staring over him. "Did I win?" asked Clen hopefully. "No, but you showed a lot of promise in dueling me" answered Frankfurt. "With a little practice, and a tweak or two in strategy, I think you'll make a fine duelist someday." Winner: Frankfurt Flashburn. A valiant effort ceroknight, but Cornelius' experience was a bit too much. Without Natural Talent, you'd be heading into Round 3 tied at 2 - 2 right now. Update your profiles accordingly.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Good duel, Ceroknight. You had a pretty good first round and if I didn't have Natural Talent, you might have had me. Thanks for the Adj, Walter. Haven't received your second DS btw.

CorneliusMurdock Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Wizard Duel Round 2 Walter Kovacs | 4------Vs.-----Johann Peterschmut | 4 Expelliarmus ~ 0 -------------------- Expelliarmus ~ 1 Crucio ~ 0 ----------------------- Crucio ~ 1 Protego ~ 0 ----------------------- Low ~ 0 Low ~ 0 ------------------- Protego ~ 0 High ~ 0 ----------------------- High ~ 1 Health: 1 --------------------- Health: 4 Walter finds his wand again and tries to disarmhis opponent but the Slytherin is a step ahead and disarms him first. The Ravenclaw catches his wand in mid air and tries the cruciatus curse but once again is too slow for Johann casts it first. Walter writhes in pain and recovering blocks a follow up spell from Johann. Peterschmut then blocks an attack from Kovacs. They then both cast a high spell at each other but Johann's overpower's Walter's spell and the Ravenclaw is shoved up against the corridor wall. Hmm. I wonder if the Admiral is using the same "strategy" as you Walter. Send for round 3 when ready.

Kovacs dives and catches his wand and disarms Peterschmut whose Protego charm falters. A shot to the Ravenclaws chest ends the duel as Johann quickly flees in case Filch has heard the commotion. Admiral Ron Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Good duel Walter, that was an unlucky round I'm afraid. And thank you for ADJ Cornellius! Anyone else for a duel, if I am not mistaken I just need one more win to be a Death Eater

But you've been forewarned Johann, it will not be easy getting past through me.
