I don’t know if this is the correct place or not, but here goes…

I once heard of an application that allows one to input a drawing or photo and the application will then convert or guide you thorough the conversion from the photo (or drawing) to a LEGO model.

Does such a program exist?

If so, where would I find it?

Thanks,

Andy D

See this thread.

If you have good "orthographic" (side, front, back, top...) pictures of the subject, you can use this tool to help figure out the brick layout.

However, as I posted in that thread, you can use virtually any graphics program (like the wonderful and free GIMP) and set the overlay grid to whatever aspect you need (brick height to width ratio is 6:5).

LEGO master builders at the Legoland parks also have access to the 'Legoizer' which converts a normal 3D model into one built with LEGOs, but it's only available to those master builders.

Thanks! I have Photoshop CS4, so maybe I will see what I can do.

In the other thread there was some discusion about plug-ins for Gimp (Photoshop?). Any idea where they might be available?

Thanks,

Do you know of any tutorials on the Internet that might help with my learning curve using Photoshop or Gimp (preferably Photoshop) to do this?

Thanks,
